Hi all, I'm a new member. So glad to finally be apart of this gathering of awesome people. Just a theory of mine, I have given it much thought and I strongly believe that the season 3 finale, in reality ended with Prue surviving and during the short break between filming season 3 and 4. Shannen decided to leave, forcing the footage to be edited in post production, hence the time reversal scene and strange end and the blunt and strange opening of season 4. Anyone thinks that could be a possibility? Because Prues scenes were pretty intense in that episode and for here to die in such an unemotional way was just weird. I feel like there were chunks of scenes that were deleted and there was no real flow as we are accustomed too.

First of all, welcome. Glad to have you part of our group!
Second of all, it's hard to separate what happened in Real Life with what happened on the screen. Shannen Doherty directed the Season Three finale (just like she directed the Season Two one) fully expecting her character Prue to survive and that she would be back the following season. Therefore no real need for it to be any more dramatic than it already was.
For some reason or another (despite the ton of theories and speculation, and thanks to all the spin, no one really knows for sure why), she was either fired or quit and her image was no longer allowed to be shown on film. (again, no one really knows for sure why...tons of theories, tons of spin, no real facts)
Had they truly meant for Prue to die when the script was originally written and filmed and directed (especially with Shannen directing her own final scene, I'm sure it would've been much more dramatically done. As is... *shrug*
Not sure if that answers your post or if I'm totally understanding it the way you mean it. If I didn't, please make it a bit more clear.
Again...welcome and hope you share any more Charmed theories you happen to have.

First of all welcome If you google part 2 of ABHL, there are many people claiming a missing episode which aired only once and never aired again due to Shannen owning the rights to her image. Here are the links: charmed-community.roomforum.com/t23-all-breaks-loose-part-2-unaireden.allexperts.com/q/Charmed-1100/f/Prue-death.htmBut there are many more similar discussion if you search. I'm still not sure what to believe. Did someone ask Shannen or Holly at Comic Con this question? Or did WB or whoever owns Charmed confirmed it that there's no episode? Also if there indeed are deleted or alternate scenes, why in the world do they not release them already?

Hey Guys! Thank you for the warm welcome, its much appreciated, wow if there is any truth to this "missing episode theory" then I was so right about the feeling I had. I know its probably speculation, but thank you for sharing. I guess if it was showed as an extra feature, it would kind of ruin the entire Charmed fantasy about the reconsituted power of three. I've only ever seen one one deleted bit from AHBL, and that's after Prue dies her Ghost takes the hand of the Angel of death and they both vanish, I found it on Youtube. Thanks again guys!

If this is what you're talking about: that was made by a fan, Shining-Allure, part of his "The Story of Prue's Death". Please note that Prue is wearing the outfit from "Death Takes a Halliwell", not "All Hell Breaks Loose." It's totally fan-made because the episode you're talking about was never made. I watched "All Hell Breaks Loose" (and sat there with my mouth open for almost a whole hour, thinking that was the end of the series - I still wish it was), the first time it was ran on The WB and then watched the following September when they re-ran "All Hell Breaks Loose" just before they showed "Charmed Again" for the first time. Sorry, but there were NO episodes in between "All Hell Breaks Loose" and "Charmed Again", nor were than any extra missing scenes. Had there been, it would've been shown during one of those times. There couldn't be one filmed - not when Shannen Doherty directed "All Hell Breaks Loose" firmly believing that she would be back for Season Four (she was fired over the phone while she was doing a movie in Canada with Julian McMahon during the hiatus between seasons). And since she had full control of her image, no way they could shoot an extra scene once she was. But if you want to see what we might have seen had Brad Kern did a more graceful job of firing Shannen Doherty, check out Shining-Allure's full "The Story of Prue's Death" (keeping in mind that he is the first to admit that it IS fanmade): www.youtube.com/watch?v=YSVNcnXa3k4&list=PL82D4F44CB295F082 I count it as fanon for that very important missing part of Charmed. ETA: There's also this one: but you will notice that this extra scene was taken from Shining-Allure. Again fan-made. The extra piece that shows Prue alive was made by a different fan from a Shannen Doherty movie -again, all fan-made.

I don't think it was. Didn't Piper say Prue the first time and not the second time? Still it always felt weird to me how they missed that line. If they didn't like it or thought it worked better without it, it should've been edited out.

It's an interesting theory, that I haven't thought about, before. Either way, not really a fan of this finale, TBH.
