Oh, man! Now *THAT* would be fantastic! I just wonder how they would explain Prue being back - unless it's a reboot that doesn't include Prue dying and doesn't include Paige or Wyatt or Chris but just teen-aged daughters!
Much as I'd hate it being about teenagers (I'm 64 and get bored with teen-aged angst, which is why I don't like Buffy or BH90210 or PLL or other such shows, shows I probably would've loved if I was a lot younger) if it was mainly about the sisters and not their daughters, I'd *love* it - ESPECIALLY if they each only had one daughter, so the daughters couldn't become Charmed.
Now THAT's my idea of a reboot!!!

I wonder if this is why they're now pretending that it was Shannen's cancer that ended the "feud" when from what I can tell, it ended way back when Shannen congratulated Alyssa for getting "Romantically Challenged" and Alyssa both congratulated Shannen on getting to be on "Dancing with the Stars" and offered her condolences on the death of Shannen's father. That was back in 2010.

Very interesting, I wonder if they've spoken to Rose about it? As loathe as I am to think about them counting anything from season 6 onwards canon, they really should follow on from the show, and they'd need one hell of an explanation to explain why Paige isn't there.

No, not if it's a reboot and not a spin-off. Then they don't have to explain any of it - because Paige and S6 and the rest never happened. You noticed there was no mention about them talking to Rose, just Holly. I truly don't think Paige is going to be part of it because in this version, PRUE NEVER DIED so Paige never existed!

Maybe Rose doesn't wish to be apart of it. If it is a reboot? She never liked doing television and made it known how ahe hated doing it didn't she when Charmed ended. But maybe this is an idea both Shannen and Alyssa talked about together and going wouldn't it be cool if we brought Charmed back and thinking the fans would love it. I don't think it has gone too far in planning but is just an idea for now. Maybe it won't be a full series but a series of television films like Gilmore Girls did on Netflix. That might convince Rose to sign on for it. |

WOW, Just WOW. I am speechless. Now, if Rose declines, doesn't that mean they have to do this Charmed reboot as if Prue didn't die. LOL if it turns out Prue and Piper were in a long 16 year coma, and awaken to find the world has moved on without them. That would be the only way you can even come up with a story reason for having it set in modern times, with Prue around and alive and without Paige.
But, maybe all four will sign on. But then they have the issue of Prue being dead if it continued after Forever Charmed with all those children. Unless they used story idea's from the comics with Prue. But those didn't have Prue as Shannen, so that would have to be fixed.

They really would have to come up with something. I'm sure Rose will play some role in it. Maybe it will be set after the series ended, but they have all the flashforwards to deal with as canon. Prue comes back another way? A reboot taking Charmed in a different direction with Prue never dying. Is much more appealing than continuing the story of Charmed after Forever Charmed with the future already determined. We have so many children to deal with, even though all of them are still quite young. You have teenage Wyatt and Chris who are actually about 13 or 15 in 2017, if my math is correct? I mean a reboot with the original cast and one that is about Prue not dying is a much better way of rebooting the series than a series focused on random strangers, or a new set of actors playing the sisters. Now it is talked about going to Netflix, so does this mean The CW has decided to not go forward next year redeveloping a new Charmed without the original cast. I hope so!  |

Something else to consider that a friend pointed out. Holly may not agree. There's been rumblings of a schism between her and Shannen, and Holly just finished playing a similar character in "Pretty Little Liars". I can't see just Shannen and Alyssa doing it - that would be pushing it.
But, oh, if Holly agreed and we'd get to see the original Power of Three back together again...that would make me *so* happy!

See I don't want them to go back and have it so Prue never died, great for fanfiction, but for a TV continuation? A lot of fans who watched the show won't understand what is going on, it'd be too confusing for your average viewer, so I think they'd want to keep it continuing on from season 8. Heck, do anything they can to convince Rose to join, tell her its an all female crew, tell her she can direct some episodes, just get her back so the story actually makes sense.
Because if the show starts and we see Prue, Piper and Phoebe, and they act like Paige was never there, that completely invalidates everything that happened after season 3, and I don't want to sit there wracking my brains trying to play catch-up. I know some fans would like that, but we want the show to be a success, and if its confusing and non-sensical, reviews will be bad, it won't get renewed and we'll go back to having nothing again.

I know it's unlikely, but here's what I would like to see: Because the actresses are clearly older, I would want it to be set in the present day. In the first episode, they can have some dialogue about how Leo, Cole, and Phoebe managed to fight off the Source and his demons in the underworld, thereby being able to get back to Prue and Piper and heal them from Shax's attack the second time around.
I loved season 4 Paige, but I loved Prue more. And I can't see Rose wanting to be involved with this much, if at all. And if the whole thing with Prue dying was only because Shannen was fired, that's a disservice to Prue and a heavily built-up storyline they had created with the first three seasons of the show. The story shouldn't suffer because of events in real life, even though at the time it all happened, their options were limited as to what to do about Prue.
I would love to see a reality in which all three sisters survived All Hell Breaks Loose and continued on in their lives, whether it feels disjointed from the actual series or not, and even if it means we lose over half of the actual show.

I get a funny feeling that if you have Paige as part of the Power of Three (and no Power of Four, please...that's not Charmed), you won't get Prue, and since it's Alyssa and Shannen who want this, you don't get Prue, you won't get the originals.
It's them talking about raising their *daughters* and no mention of sons that makes me think it's going to be a retcon as compared to a continuation and that makes me so excited - NO WYATT AND CHRIS!!! YES!!!! Especially if Paige isn't part of it, Charmed gets to unjump the shark!!!!! How many shows get to say that???
And as long as they continue to rerun Charmed, those who want Paige, Wyatt and Chris to be part of it, they can watch S4-8 when it's on.

I was reminded at a different site that Shannen's the one who got frustrated with S1-2's storyline and want Charmed to be bigger and darker, like it was in S3 and S4.
Oh, oh! That I wouldn't like at all!
But I'll bet a lot of Charmed fans would.

I actually am just as excited to see fans who loved S4-8 state why they hate this direction, *if* they do it without Paige and Rose. After all, those fans may never saw the Prue years first - so loving Paige more. The same way fans who left at sometime dears in S4-8 will come back to see this and watch Prue back. Although, I have this feeling it will take convincing Holly to do it. If the bad blood between her and Shannen is true. Maybe Holly refuses to do it, unless Rose is apart of it dears. Nobody knows. |

I'm going to guess that if any of the originals are back it would be Shannen, Holly, Brian, Alyssa, Jennifer (Grams), Wes (Wyatt) and Drew (Chris). I don't want the last two the way a lot of fans wouldn't want others while being disappointed if others didn't come back, but these are the ones who have been at the conventions and have shown interest in the show. Dorian and Julian (and Rose and Finola, who I'd love to see come back as Patty) never have - if anything, Rose is the one who has knocked any sort of reboot. So I think getting them back would be harder.
And if not getting this means not getting them while getting these, I'd be okay with it.
I do think there's a possibility of the others coming back as guest stars - I'd love to have the Charmed Ones find out that they have a half-sister, but that she only has whitelighter powers and can't become Charmed because she's a half. Then if they find out that she has a daughter and that daughter wants to become part of the Charmed daughters (who could never become Charmed themselves, since they're cousins and not sisters) coven, you'd have a way to continue to include Paige without including Rose.
