I can't believe that tomorrow, April 14th, it will be EIGHT FULL MONTHS since Granny Charmed wanted to know what our idea of a reboot would be. That's what inspired this alternate-universe series that's been giving so many of us so much joy, especially as we try to forget the reboot that stole all of Charmed’s thunder on its 20th anniversary, and debuted back in October and will be around for at least this season and next.
I’ve decided to post an update in a separate thread each time we reach the 13th of each month, so members can enjoy the update on the actual "month-day" (as we call it), the 14th of each month. Up to this point, each month-day, I've posted a summary to show just how far we'd come and how far we had left to go before we reach our goal of 4 1/2 seasons for 100 episodes. As of this point last month we only had TWO EPISODES TO GO!! AND WE’VE GOT THEM!! I’M VERY EXCITED AND PROUD TO ANNOUNCE THAT IN LESS THAN EIGHT MONTHS, WE’VE REACHED OUR GOAL OF ONE HUNDRED EPISODES!
I’ve also started two new threads, one with just all of our episodes and one with all of Pheebs Halliwell’s wonderful Deadline press releases for newbies who don’t want to read all FIFTY-THREE pages of our main brainstorming thread. Of course if they want to read both without all of the brainstorming, they sure can by checking out our most recent month-day update.
I was going to try to update both of those threads with the new press releases, but didn’t have time. I hope to have that time now, but no promises…
I’d also like to admit that thanks to another very busy Real Life, I haven’t been able to read and edit any of the other new press releases. I’ve still added the new ones to this update so we can see how many we’ve done and how many we have left to reach that goal of 100. I’ve done with them what I’ve been doing while they’re in “work in progress mode” – put an asterisk after the title.
At one point I thought that more likely than not, I won’t be able to get to the editing until summer since I’ll be busy with work (I work at a wholesale florist, so getting ready for Easter and Mother’s Day keeps us extremely busy, so I usually crash as soon as I get home) and/or my University of Minnesota Golden Gopher baseball team, which is now playing at home as well as on the road.
This still means that I probably won’t be able to do any more editing until this summer when I’m not busy with either work or Gophers, so I can have fun, not only editing, but also going through the entire series, re-ordering the episodes if necessary, looking for inconsistencies and fixing them, while editing the ones with the asterisks. To me, that sounds like great fun!
I’ll still post an update every month even though we have all 100 of our episodes and our series is complete except for my editing. Since I’m expecting Pheebs to continue to give us Deadline press releases as long as the rip-off keeps airing, I’m going to guess that I’ll still be doing monthly updates for at least the next year and longer if the rip-off goes more than two seasons, which I don’t think it will—ratings are too low—just calling it “Charmed” hasn’t taken away from doing story arcs right away before giving viewers a chance to get to know the characters the way Classic Charmed did and the way we did here in Elemental Charmed.
What I hope the rest of you will be able to do now that we’ve got our 100 is to go back and come up with titles for all the episodes that have “TBD” as either the episode title or the tagline or both. I don’t think that should be left to the writer – anyone can make suggestions and let the writer decide which one they want. I’ll do the same thing when I do my summer edits, but I’m not that good at that so if anyone else can (Pheebs? Summer? Miranda? Sasha? You’re all so good at that! Or anyone who is just reading so far – West? Olga? If you want to, go for it!) that would be great!
To make doing that easier, I’m going to bold all of those TBAs. Be sure to make your suggestions in the main brainstorming
I’ve also decided to skip the backstory so that if this is your first time reading about Elemental Charmed, it will be like you’re actually watching our show, not knowing what’s going to happen until it does. If this is the case for you, be sure to let us know what you think!
Here we go! Just like I’ve been doing, I’m going to put each season in its own post.
