In honour of the upcoming "fashion" issue of Charmed Magazine (coming out later this month), I figured it would be the perfect time to discuss the fashion on Charmed.
My mom said her favourite part of the show is seeing what the girls are wearing. I'm not referring to the silly costumes they've been put in but their actual style.
I really think the style of the sisters is pretty darn good and they were some of the best dressed women on TV. It didn't start out that way though. They started out in the time where high-waisted pants were cool *cough*late 90s*cough*. Prue was plagued by sweater and dress combos and Piper was stuck as the local frump queen.
However, by season three the sisters had already evolved into some of the most gloriously styled gals around. But who of the four had the best style? Does anyone have any favourite outfits worn by the girls?
Personally, I absolutely adore Paige's wardrobe from the later seasons. I especially like her white shirt and black skirt outfit worn in the episode with her father. Anyone know what I'm referring to?

I tend to dress rather conservative, so Phoebe and Paige's style was a bit much for me. It was also sometimes incredibly inappropriate for the work place. The sister most compatible with my personal style was Piper. I really like her clothes post season 3 and I specially loved her season 5 clothes (pre and post pregnancy of course). She was classy but not boring. The other two were sometimes a bit much for me.

I agree with MarAcev. I love Piper because of her more "conservative" look. The girls have the body for their outfits, but, yeah, sometimes you go...Where are they going in THAT.

I love their styles, but i like Paige's and Phoebe's clothes the best. Some of the more revealing things i wouldn't wear, but some things i totally would wear. Foxfire, i know what outfit you're talking about. It's so cute on her.

The sisters' fashion were okay with me during the first season . . . despite Phoebe wearing pedal pushers and clogs in the S1 episode, "Wicca Envy". It seemed to start going slightly bad . . . at least for Prue and Phoebe in Season 2 ("Ms. Hellfire" being a prime example). But by Season 3, it was all over and only Piper seemed capable of avoiding bad fashion taste . . . until her "dark" period in mid-Season 4. After Prue's death, Paige more than pick up the mantle in joining Phoebe as tasteless fashion connoisseurs.

Funny enough, Paige's style seemed to change with her hairstyle. Her style drastically changed into a more colourful wardrobe during her red hair period but quickly changed into a more mature look when she dyed it back to brown.
Phoebe, to me, is the most guilty of fashion faux-pas. Although, she's had some pretty fabulous outfits over the course of the show. One of my favourites was the white shirt she wore in "Sense and Sense Ability". I also really liked Piper's shirt in "A Witch's Tail" (it was red and had a bow on it).

In my opinion the best style is Phoebe's. There wasn't an episode where I said "What a terrible dress!" She is always perfect ... hair, make-up, dresses, shoes and also all the accessories are always well-chosen. I can only say the one I love more and the one I love less. The one I love more is too simple: I don't remember the episode but I think is one where Cole dies - SHE HAD JEANS, A WHITE TOP AND A PINK/VIOLET LONG SCARF ... Too simple but too nice. The one I love less is - THE RED DRESS she were wearing in the episode where the Charmed Ones have been infected by the warlock sent by Belthazor to divide them ... I don't rembember the name ... Do you remember it? Too vulgar ... Anyway ... if I have to tell you to which one I'm too close ... is the style of Piper ... simple, simple ... The other sister's wardrobe has been used by me in particolar occasion ...

Her style drastically changed into a more colourful wardrobe during her red hair period but quickly changed into a more mature look when she dyed it back to brown. That's why I liked Paige's style best in s7. When she was a brunette again in s7, her style was more mature than when she was a red-head, but not as mature as when she got the lock/pony in s8. Though I like Paige's style the most, there are a few outfits that just can't IMO. The shirt and skirt she's wearing in my sig e.g. is one of her worst.

^yeah i agree. I think her style has matured a lot, and i like her hair and outfits best in seasons 7 and 8. I do like some of her more immature outfits from her earlier seasons, but i'm still in high school so i'm allowed to Silverlily, i like that picture in your sig. Where did you find it?

HollysFan made the banner, so I don't know where she found the pic. But I do know that's it's some promo pic. They wear the same outfits in episode 4.06 A Knight to Remember.

Funny, that's probably what I would consider one of Paige's worst outfits. I wouldn't be caught dead wearing that stuff. Then again, I'm a 31 year old college professor, I don't think it's me.

In general, Paige's outfits in season four are just way too out there for me. Even her orange jacket in her first appearance was weird-looking to me. However, Paige's style did change to a more tailored look and I'm glad for that. She wore fitted shirts and dress pants. Although, I suppose it changed to that because she could finally dress nicely without having to worry about getting them messy from being the supreme witch.
Phoebe's style... I don't know. I just can't get over her God awful shirt and pants in "Sand Francisco Dreaming". The fur-look to it was awful and the pants were awkward. I think Phoebe wears her pants too low sometimes too.
Believe me... I think style and fashion is something people can admire at every age. I mean, my mom loves a lot of the clothes that I love from the show. While she may dress more like Piper, I think she'd love to be able to dress like Phoebe.
What about Prue? Has anyone else noticed her drastic wardrobe change from S1 to S2/3? She started out with the pretentious sweater combos and then turned into a braless Charlie's Angel.

Yeah, someone on the TWOP forum really used to complain about that . . . and the revelation of Phoebe's "cooter tat".

That tattoo is awkwardly placed... I'm not sure what Alyssa Milano was thinking. I'm also confused as to why they used to airbrush her back tattoo off...
Although, I suppose Phoebe has the right to wear outrageous things. She has the body for it.

Not to sound like I'm the greatest thing alive, but I have the age and body to wear what Phoebe used to wear, but I choose not to. Most of the time it wasn't about whether she had the youth and "body" to wear those things, it was about how inappropriate her wardrobe was. Most people would not be allowed to wear a lot of her outfits to work. There are times and ocassions for everything.

I agree. Phoebe does wear a lot of inappropriate things and it's rare that we see her wearing what actual columnists should be wearing to work. When you think of newspapers (à la "Daily Planet"), you think of people dressed in quasi-suits. In truth, Phoebe should be dressed like Lois Lane rather than Bambi Lane.
Prue was pretty appropriate for how she dressed for work, right? I'm trying to think of anything overtly sexual that Prue had worn during season one and I can't seem to think of anything.

Prue's dress sense was pretty tame during the first season. She never wore anything inapprorpriate to Bucklands. She wore some hideous things in season 3 for P3, but I guess anything goes at a club.
