Hypothetical Season Eight...Episode One
"There's a Seer in my Beer"
Season Seven final scene:
The FOUR sisters gather together as one in the attic as Zankou makes his attempt at the book and the lives of the sisters. One by one each sister recites her specific line of a four-line spell and Zankou begins to get pulled down into a swirling vortex of death. The Charmed Ones look at this like it's a fireworks celebration and stare t it in awe. As Zankou finally disappears, the vortex rapidly spreads outward and explodes. It takes out the entire attic and all that's left is a small typewriter in the corner of the room. That is what I'm using to type out this account...
After seven full years of battling all kinds of demons and warlocks--always coming out victorious in one way or another--The Charmed Ones are nowhere to be found. The blast took out most of the famous Halliwell Manor's upper floors as well as its attic.
Standing on the street below was Lieutenent Darryl Morris and his redheaded sidekick, Inspector Nofirstname Sheridan. Darryl looked in horror and Sheridan had no feelings at all...
Yeah, that Zankou was one bad dude, but it looked as if Sheridan was worse!
After the dramatic explosive ending to the seventh year in the family business, it appears as though the Power of Three is no longer a force in the world. Sure, Zankou was vanquished, but along with him were the famed sister witches known as the Charmed Ones. Nobody took the events of that day harder than Darryl Morris.
This is how Darryl makes an attempt to rescue the sisters he believes are still alive...
Can a mortal save the legendary Charmed Ones? Or is it good-bye for good?
We pick up the story two days later...
Darryl Morris sits in the police station stunned by the news that the sisters appear to have died. He wants no part of anyone and even Inspector Sheridan begins to feel loss in her heart as well. As Darryl puts his face deep in the palms of his hands, he tunes out the rest of the noise around him until he can hear the faint distant voice of what sounds like Piper calling to him.
At first he thought it was just the shock of losing them, but as the day went on, the voice became more and more constant. It was only Piper's voice he heard, but it was enough for him to hold on to a little hope that the sisters may well be still alive...but where?
The voices never got louder. They just grew more constant through the day and into the night. He went home that night and told Sheila what he heard
"No, I believe you", she said as she placed her hands on his shoulders, "You obviously have a strong connection to the girls"
Darryl looked up at his wife, "So you don't think I'm crazy?"
"No" she said
That night, Darryl had a dream (at least that's what he thought it was) of seeing ALL FOUR Halliwell sisters trapped in what appeared to be a dark room with a single beam of light coming through the void of darkness.
He called each of their names and each one responded as if she were truly there and alive as can be.
Darryl looked confused by all this, "How can this be?"
Prue appeared to walk toward him, "Seven years with us and you ask that question? Anything is possible with this family"
Darryl smiled a bit as he grew more and more assured that this was not a dream.
Phoebe walked up behind Prue and began to give Darryl a bit of info as to their location and how to rescue them.
"I'm not magical" he says to the sisters, "I have no way of getting to you without you coming to me. I'M A COP!"
Phoebe continued, "We're at the..."
The alarm clock rang and Darryl awoke. What was Phoebe going to say? Would she try to communicate with him today? Time will tell...
Darryl drove by the scene of the blast. He looked at the upper half of what was the Manor, only to find it was not there--and neither were the sisters.
He shakes his head and thinks to himself, "All those powers you have at your disposal must have saved you"
He waited for some sign like a voice from Piper, but got nothing. What he heard the previous day was real and he only needed to wait for them to contact him.
A voice came from behind him, "Inspector?"
Darryl turned around hearing the voice hoping it was the girls. It turned out to be a neighbor's little daughter
"Yes", he says, as he bends over to talk to the little girl
She hands him a badge like an old western sheriff would wear, "I hope this helps"
She then runs back into her home across the street
Darryl looked at his hand and saw the badge. He glanced up at the girl as she closed her door and looked back at the plastic badge. Was this supposed to be a clue?
He wasn't sure what to make of it, but he placed the badge in his pocket and continued to the police station for his daily duty of saying his "I'M A COP!" catch phrase to everyone he meets.
He walks in the station and everyone is clearly sensitive to his feelings for the sisters.
"I know it's been a couple days", says Sheridan, "but it will pass. Life goes on"
Darryl wasn't sure if that was supposed to be comforting or not, but he accepted it and went to work
It was about noon when he began to hear the voices again. Like the day before, they started very distant apart and began to become more frequent as the day moved on
"The star", said one of the sisters, "The star is your clue to finding us"
Darryl goes into a private room hoping nobody sees him talking to himself. He remembers the badge given to him earlier in the day and looks at it for any clues.
"Nothing", he says in a frustrated mood, "I can't see anything here"
"You're a cop", said a sister, "Use your cop skills"
Even though he knew he was hearing these voices, he still wasn't sure if they were legit or not.
"If you're real", he says, "Do something to make me believe in my sanity"
The lights of the room flickered on and off
"Is that enough?" says Paige
[AS THE LIGHTS FLICKER, WE SEE IT TO BE STROBE LIGHT IN NATURE. WHEN WE COME BACK TO A SIMPLE ROOM, IT IS NOT DARRYL WE SEE. IT IS THE GIRLS IN THEIR VOID]
Paige wanders around in a worried state, "Do ya think he sees our signs or is this just a waste?"
"No, he definately sees them", says Phoebe, "We just have to keep contacting him"
As the lights in their room begin to slowly brighten, we see them trapped not in any kind of trouble, but in an old western bar.
Sitting at the table are various beings going back to 1998.
"Oh my goodness", says Paige as she limps over to the bar, "This is sooo strange"
The bartender comes up to her, "May I help you?"
Prue looks in shock at the identity of the bartender...
"I can't believe it's him", Prue says as she stares into the eyes of...
"Buckland", says the bartender to Paige, "Rex Buckland is my name"
Prue runs over to Paige and pulls her aside, "You don't want to have anything to do with him" says the eldest sister to the youngest
"Is that any way to treat your former boss?" says Rex as he cooly makes a drink
Prue responds, "Uh, boss from Hell!"
Rex chuckles, "I'll admit I wasn't up front with you at first, but..."
"No buts", says Prue, "You also tried to kill us"
Coming from a corner of the room is another voice, "No. Actually, it was ME that tried to kill you"
Hannah Webster steps into the light and makes herself known.
Phoebe looks in amazement, "Is there anyone here that is our friend?"
[SWITCH BACK TO DARRYL IN THE POLICE STATION]
The voices suddenly fall silent. Nothing.
Darryl calls each sister by name but this time, there is no response. Under his breath he mumbles, "I don't know what to think" and heads out of the room.
As he makes his way to his desk, an officer notices the plastic fake sheriff badge in Darryl's hand.
" What's wrong, lieutenant?" he says, "Did you lose your badge? You think this is the old west or something?"
Darryl gets a sharp pang in his gut.
"Old west", Daryl says, "Right, right. I'll be back"
Sheridan follows close behind, "I'll com with you"
Darryl isn't sure if this is a good idea, but since he doesn't know where he's going or what he's doing, he allows Sheridan to tag along.
[FIVE MINUTES LATER IN DARRYL'S CAR WITH SHERIDAN IN THE PASSENGER SEAT]
Sheridan looks at Darryl, "So where are we going"
"I don't know" says Darryl
Sheridan nods her head, "Hmmm. So how do we know when we get there?"
Darryl knows that's an attempt at humor, but he doesn't laugh
"Look", says sheridan, "I think you think you can get the Halliwell sisters back, but it won't happen"
Darryl looks at Sheridan, "Wanna bet?"
Sheridan starts to wonder, "They died, and nothing short of them being powerful immortal beings will bring them back. Of course, if they truly were immortal, we wouldn't be having this discussion would we?"
Darryl blocks out her comments and continued driving...somewhere.
[COMMERCIAL BREAK. GET A BURGER AND DRINK FROM THE FRIDGE...AND MAYBE USE THE BATHROOM TOO...YOU DON'T WANT TO HAVE TO USE THE TOILET DURING THE GOOD STUFF, DO YA?]
