So apparently, there may be a Charmed spin off in the works, although it's not confirmed. According to the article below, a pilot has been written by Holly Marie Combs! On May 2, 2008, television networks, ABC and FOX were given the written pilot which was written by Charmed alumni, Holly Marie Combs-Donoho, who played Piper Halliwell. The CW, television network has rejected the spin-off twice, and will no longer consider the possiblity of the show. "We already have a show similiar to what Mrs. Combs-Donoho has written, and it's called Supernatural." Stated Dawn Ostroff, CW President. Supernatural debuted in 2005, on the CW Network, and currently one of their more popular shows. No details have been released on Combs-Donoho's' pilot of the new Charmed Spin-off, but it seems ABC and FOX have both read the scripts and are in talks with her and her team. It is possible that the show will air this fall around Halloween. Charmed, (1998-2006) was a supernatural show about three sister witches and their batles with evil. The LAST thing we need on this board is spazzing fans who don't understand the difference between hope and reality. This article person needs to do their research too. Supernatural did NOT debut on the CW in 2005 because the CW wasn't a network in 2005. Also, ABC and Fox have already announced their upfronts and pilots for the fall 2008-2009 season. If they are just "reading" it now, there is pretty much no possible way for this to be done by Halloween. Most shows pilots are already finished by now and have begun working on their episodes ordered thus far. I'll do some digging, but seriously, take this with a grain of salt. ETA: Also marissa, you need to provide a link. An article is no good without proof it's legit. Also the links help to determine if the article could even be taken seriously. |

*snorts* Yeah, like Dawn would ever give Supernatural a thought. She didn`t mind ripping off the show when she approved Reaper, which has several things that already happened or were said on Supernatural. Not to mention names. There`s no reason why she should reject another pilot with similar plots, when Reaper is on air.
Also, where is said article, because I can`t find it. No link, people aren`t going to believe you.

This has been circulating for a while now and I'm fairly sure it's a from a wishful fan (by that I don't mean you, marissa08) because this was the original form of the "article" as posted at Charmed-Net on May 11, 2008 and Screen Scene on May 13, 2008:

This new article is a "revised" form of the original one with most (I still see Stated and now Donoho's', for example) the of its mistakes "corrected."

Thanks for posting that Forever Charmed. Now I'm 100% convinced as opposed to 99.9% convinced. ;D The fact that Holly, who is an actress and not a writer, wrote the script too also raises some flags. I'm not saying because she an actress, she can't write, but I've never even been aware of her co-writing any episodes of Charmed itself, much less for this phantom spin-off. If they wanted this to sound more legit they should have said written by Brian Krause who did co-write, "Sense and Sensability" in season 5. But given the awful lack of respect he received in the final season, even that would be a stretch and highly improbable.
Not to mention, a show like Charmed doesn't fit in with ABC and Fox's target audiences and much less a spin-off. Think about this logically
ABC - Grey's Anatomy, Ugly Betty, Desperate Housewives, Private Practice, Dirty Sexy Money, Charmed Spin-off, Eli Stone, Pushing Daisies
Fox - House M.D, Bones, 24, American Idol, Charmed Spin-off, Prison Break
Again..just looking at that means it's an obvious hoax. It's so out of place it's ridiculous. This person must have a grudge against the CW (as most people probably do for their own reasons) which is why they made it seem as though the CW was smug.

As much as I dislike The CW, I find whoever wrote this to be far more distasteful. It's not fair to the fans who desperately want a spinoff to get false hope only for it to be found out a nasty rumor a short time later. |

Here's my problem:
Why would the cw network reject this script (if it exists) by saying that they already have a series like it.
If that's the case, why didn't they reject the newer show when charmed was still on the air?

If so: Charmed is about three sisters who happen to be witches and their job is to protect innocents while from various forms of supernatural evil. Supernatural is a show about two brothers who travel around the country fighting supernatural things. The Charmed Sons spinoff involving Wyatt and Chris, as seems to be the consensus, would be, again, about two brothers who fight supernatural evil. The reason they they accepted Supernatural while Charmed was running was because it was about two brothers, not three sisters running around the country fighting supernatural creatures. Supernatural and general TCS idea are just too similar for the same network at one time. |

Nothing but fan fictions, they have just put them into seasons. But it is of cause seasons you NEVER will see on the TV screen with Holly, Alyssa or Rose. But its common knowledge that German fans of a TV show is a bit more eccentric than the rest of the world. If they are fans of something, then they are FANS! |

Look: the CW wouldn't have a problem airing a Charmed Sons, as well as Supernatural. Though there would be similarities, the differences between them are large enough to allow the CW to appeal to different target audiences. Second, does anyone remember Related? This was a show about three sisters who have an entirely dysfunctional relationship among themselves, their kin and friends. Doesn't that sort of describe Charmed sans the supernatural stuff?
Yes, I know Related failed. But, that's because it wasn't terribly good to begin with. And, the WB was passing into oblivion anyway and was not willing to support shows that might have had potential or to support shows that still attracted a good audience (Charmed).
As for Dawn: I really don't care what this no talent hack thinks about anything. Not one thing she really has tried at the CW has worked. Not one! And, now they are losing WWE Smackdown. Oh well! It couldn't have happened to a more vile human being. Demon be gone!
P.S. Thanks to all of you who have outed this drivel and exposed it for what it is: idle gossip designed to raise the pulses of we fanatic German fans of Charmed.
