Perhaps she was overly confident and felt invincible, which made her more vulnerable.

Ummm....maybe. But I think If she truly caused her own death, the only fault I saw was her willingness to risk her life to save an Innocent. I mean when I saw the epi I never thought "hey look there's Prue being prideful again."

I mean when I saw the epi I never thought "hey look there's Prue being prideful again." I admire Prue for being willing to risk her life to save an innocent, but I think that she could have used good sense and not allow her pride to get the best of her. I cannot help but wonder if the episode "Sin Francisco" was a foreshadow of what would lead to her death. Prue knew that Shax was after the doctor. All she had to do was remain in the house and wait for Shax to make his next attack. With all three sisters under one roof, they could have killed him without any risk of being exposed. But alas . . . she had insisted upon dragging Piper out of the house to go after Shax. And this action set the path toward her own death.

At that point in time, Shax wasn't after them he was after the doctor, so if she had just stayed behind and waited, Shax would've killed him. (Yes I know he was still killed in the end but she had no way of know what was to come). I don't think it had anything to do with pride. I still blame everything on PhoeME.

I blame her for being selfish and going down to try and save Cole. Had she stayed and helped Prue and Piper, even though they told her they could do it alone, Leo would've been around and Prue would've survived.

Yuppers, Phoebe was blinded with selfishness of wanting to save Cole, he would have been able to save a bit later on, as it seemed as easy as giving him a potion, therefore, she could have had a premonition and then saved Prue...

I dont think she is to blame. Her sister's said they could do it,knowing darn good and well the couldn't and since when did trying to save the guy you love selfish?I mean come on,seriously if they hadn't told her to go she probally wouldnt have a prue would still be alive, but they told her to so i kinda think it is there fault.

Wanting to save the guy you love over helping your sisters is about as selfish as you can get. Regardless of them saying that it was ok for her to go, she knew there was a very powerful demon on the attack, but instead of staying to I don't know...help them, she decided to help herself and get the guy she loved back. All this costing her sister's life. Every choice you make has a consequence, this one being the death of her sister because she wasn't there to help.

They didn't even say it was ok. She pretty much told them that she wasn't looking for their approval but she needed their power to get there.

I think you've forgotten the lesson that the sisters learned in Season 1 - "the best offense is defense". And the sisters realized that they were able to do this the best way inside the manor.
After Shax's first failed attempt, they should have remained at the manor with the doctor and prepare for another attack by Shax. Instead, Prue dragged Piper out of the house, where they faced Shax on the street . . . and in full view of a news camera. This act eventually led to the events of "All Hell Breaks Loose" and Prue's death.
Prue and her inability to overcome her pride had led to her death. Not Phoebe. Before her death, Prue had even admitted that it was stupid of her to drag Piper out of the house and go after Shax. And Prue did give Phoebe the OK to find Cole.
I realize that many of you want to blame Phoebe and her romance with Cole for Prue's death. But Prue has to bear the responsibility. She became her own worst enemy in her rush to go after Shax. It nearly cost Piper's life . . . and it eventually cost Prue her life.
