Prue was the least selfish sister, she took care of them all growing up. If anything, Pheebs was selfish, letting her love life get in the way.

yes but then right at the beginning Prue wouldnt acknowledge Phoebe, and almost right the way through season3 she was only obsessed with killing the Triad, not for her sisters initial safety...

Yes, but ljones, I am not highlighting Piper's "sacrifice". I am merely pointing out that one should not read too much into what Piper and Phoebe chant together in Something Wicca. Prue did not have to "practically raise us..."

yes but then right at the beginning Prue wouldnt acknowledge Phoebe, and almost right the way through season3 she was only obsessed with killing the Triad, not for her sisters initial safety... Prue and Phoebe never really had a connection like the one she had with Piper at that time....like in Prewitched, when she asked Piper to be the Maid of Honor instead of Phoebe. Plus, the fact that Phoebe left for New York right after Grams died pissed Prue off. The begining of Charmed followed these events so it is obvious that Prue doesn't really acknowledge Phoebe in the begining. But I admit Prue obsesses...a lot. In that episode, her growth was to take down that obsession level , to be more open with other concerns also, like with Abby. Death takes a Halliwell also proves the obsession with saving innocents. Prue had to learn that she can't save everyone and to deal with Death. I agree with Princess Mary, Prue cared for the people around her more than her own life like All Hell Breaks Loose. She died for the doctor. To me she was infact one of the most selfless sisters in the bunch.

yes but then right at the beginning Prue wouldnt acknowledge Phoebe, and almost right the way through season3 she was only obsessed with killing the Triad, not for her sisters initial safety... Prue was always there for the safety of her sisters! As the eldest, she took the lead and protected her sisters as much as she can. Her sisters cared the most to her. But as each of TCO's know, innocents come first. For ex. in Apocalypse Not, Piper and Phoebe both came to the conclusion that they must save the world before they save their sister. Also in Awakened Prue, Phoebe, and even Piper agreed to restore the disease back into her so no other innocents would be infected. And like the Triad said, Prue risked her life for that doctor and she got killed all to save that one innocent. There are too many examples. And yes, Prue had every single right to care about the Triad. The biggest evil they were yet to face in their past 3 years as TCO's. She didn't want her or her sisters to get hurt, and most importantly any innocents. It's a sacrifice they each had to accept.

ok ok!! Though I have to say that I think Piper was the most selfless... I dunno, Prue just... Doesnt seem to be the most important of the sisters in the sister league, if you get what I mean...

And let me just add one more thing. Even if you think Prue was "obsessed" with finding the Triad and always had that doubt for Cole, she was right at the end.

Prue did not have to "practically raise us..." You're right. Prue didn't have to raise them. She was too young and Grams should have put a stop to it. But I do believe that despite her faults - and she had plenty of them - Prue was a better leader than Piper. I disagree. In her own way, Piper was just as selfish as Phoebe. But Piper's selfishness rarely bothered me. She never wanted to be some supernatural vigilante from day one . . . and I saw nothing wrong with that.

In all their own ways they were all selfish, but then who isnt? If there is anyone who isnt completely selfless then they arent real, I mean, everyone has to think of themselves... Say if you and your sibling were dying for the toilet, and you reached it first, would you let them go first?... Ok, not a good example, but you know what I mean... As for Piper being selfish, I doubt she was as selfish as Phoebe... And Prue neither, but she had a major form of selfishness in being so proud...

Pride can be the downfall of anyone. Which episode was it? "the seven deadly sins" or something like that when Prue was taken over by pride. It almost got her killed. Even the demon said the one thing he hasn't been able to defeat was pride.

I don't. I've always felt that Piper was as selfish as Phoebe. Only it manifested in a different way.

I don't. I've always felt that Piper was as selfish as Phoebe. Only it manifested in a different way. Is that because Prue's selfishness appeared more as Pride? Pride was definitely part of Prue, but it's what made her so good and powerful.
