Ah, but you're looking at Poison Ivy 2 from a woman's point of view! Now, from a man's perspective, PI2 is totally absurd!

I guess that's something I can't change since well, I am a woman. In all seriousness, I actually enjoy Dr. Giggles and I definitely would go for any movie with Holly over Alyssa. It's just my personal taste. I'm no longer a huge Alyssa fan, though I was during the Commando and Who's the boss? years.

I've never seen Dr. Giggles, as I'm not much of a horror fan, comedic horror or dramatic. I might watch it, just because of HMC, if it's on some day on a movie channel. Since I haven't noticed it being on, it may not play that often. I wonder if this was an attempt to join the scream team or was it all done very tongue in cheek as a comedy or spoof on the horror scene. It's also pre-Charmed and pre a number of her other movies, so she may have taken the role simple for the paycheck and the opportunity to do something different. She would not be the first actor to take what in retrospect could be considered a silly role for the paycheck. Really, how serious could movie called Dr. Giggles be?
I have seen PI2. It was a bit disjointed and seemed to be trying to make up its mind what type of movie it wanted to be. Was it a love story, a haunting, or was it about a disillusioned art professor with an overactive libido for his students.
There are two funny things about PI2 which I picked up on. In one scene AM has a line about Timbuktu. A location she uses in one of the Charmed again (two parter) episodes. Another was a scene where she is waking up and the camera does this split image so the two AMs sit up and are made to look like they're facing each other. This was done, coincidentally, by AM in the It's a bad, bad World episode, when she first confronts her evil self in the underworld (which looks very green). Anyway, just a minor note.
The movie PI2 itself, although a more dramatic type than AM has played in other movie roles, was not a bad role for her, just a badly shot and written movie which was going in too many directions and therefore, not sure where it was going. Maybe, from that description, it was more like how life is for many people, vs how it's presented by Hollywood, most of the time, where everything is neatly wrapped up and resolved. Life is more often not like that and more just a series of ongoing and semi connected events.

Dr. Giggles was a sort of main stream movie. It wasn't really a bad decision, considering how young she was when it filmed. I'm not even sure if she was done with Picket Fences by the time she did Dr. Giggles, which coincidentally paired her up with one of the guys from Angel (Doyle, I think the character's name was, the actor died a few years ago) and also with the actor that played Inspector Reece Davidson from season 3 and Death becomes them.
It was probably a way for her to try to do something different from Picket Fences and the once in a while Lifetime movie.

M- You're probably correct. Like I said too, it may have been a way to expand her acting resume by doing something different.

I think Holly is amazing.
She is such a good actress, you really believe everything that she does on the screen. I saw some reruns of picket fences aswell, and she was good in that aswell.
SHe is just amazing and I don't think anyone would be able to portray piper so well - she did a fantastic job.

That's the main question being posed in a thread which is in the Piper's Kitchen area. You'll need to request the password to enter, but there does not seem to have been even the slightest news about HMC's future career since Charmed ended and she had her second child in Oct of 2006. Unless something was listed over the weekend, HMC seems to have been enjoying raising her children and, most likely, stopping to enjoy life a for while, until she decides to go after a new project. Unlike AM, who is family free, at the moment, HMC probably wants to limit her future acting roles so as to accommodate or balance her family's needs with those of the role. Hope this helped answer your question. I'm sure as soon as something turns up in one or more of the press sites, it will be reported here too.

I bought Season 1 of Picket Fences. I'm almost done with the pilot. Holly sings a Supreme song during the episode and she's not bad. She has a soft voice. I guess all three charmed sisters could sing.
She was only 19 when the show started and she was just so cute.

I've seen it and she was indeed fantastic. Her character had quite a personality, feisty and strong.

Piper3: Do you really think the Alex and Piper characters were the same? I think HMC has done a good job, in her movie roles, of separating out herself from the Piper role. Of course that movie was before Charmed anyway. Only See Jane Date was done during her time while on Charmed and that was a supporting role with her friend Charisma Carpenter (the second Seer).

That depends. Alex was a much more confident character than season 1 Piper, when she was single and younger. I'd say that teen Piper never would've had the courage to do what Alex did. If you compare season 8 Piper, who already had her own family to protect and had been through a LOT through the past 8 years then there are similarities between them but I don't think they are the same character. This season 7-8 Piper had been through an evolution that made her that way, whereas it was in Alex's character already. And the character was nothing like Piper. It was weird seeing her as this somewhat air headed, bimboish character...until almost the end when we discover that she's actually a pretty nice person hiding her many personal problems behind this carefree attitude. I loved her in that movie.
