I read Wicked Lovely. Didn't like it very much. You'll have to let me know what you thought about it.

I just finished Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris True Blood is based this book series. I've just ordered that from Amazon! I only noticed it was based on the show when I read the book's description - I haven't seen the show yet because it hasn't been aired over here but I think it's supposed to air this year.

I've been reading a lot over the past month; I've read quite a few more Buffy tVS books: " How I Survived My Summer Vacation, Vol. 1" - I really enjoyed it, it was a collection of short stories which were set during the summer of Season 1 and Season 2 of the show. Some of the stories were more enjoyable than others but it was nice to be able to fill in that summer. " Blooded" - I thought this book was ok although it was confusing at times. Basically, it was about an ancient vampire which had been cursed and trapped in a sword thousands of years ago. He is 'released' by one of the Scoobies and decides to use Buffy & co. to change history. " The Angel Chronicles, Vols. 1, 2 & 3" - These three books were novelisations of 9 episodes from the series focussed on Angel. I enjoyed the books and it's nice to read novelisations because you get other little facts which aren't mentioned in the show, such as the characters' thoughts. Finally, " Visitors" - The 'demon' ( a Korred: a mythological creature with goat feet and likes to make people dance to their deaths by playing the flute) featured in this book was a bit strange. I actually enjoyed the other storylines throughout the book - student teachers visit Sunnydale High and Ethan Rayne makes another appearance - more than that of the Korred. The book was ok but wasn't one of the most exciting to read.

A few weeks ago I also read: " Twilight - Director's Notebook" by Catherine Hardwicke - A friend bought me this for my birthday. It was interesting to read, especially because I was studying Concept Development and the character designs and storyboards gave me inspiration for how to do mine. A lot of the things that are in this book are featured on the special 2-disk edition of the movie's DVD but it's still nice to see it in a book. " The (Unofficial) Twilight Companion" by Lois H. Gresh - This book is not entirely about 'Twilight', in fact it is mostly about other vampires from movies and books throughout history (although, surprisingly, there's not much about the Buffy the Vampire Slayer vampires...). There are a few quizzes throughout the book to find out if you are a true Twilight fan or if you are perfect for Edward. However, I would recommend people not to take this book too seriously if/when they read it.

The Outsiders- I'm not to sure who the author is, but it's based on the 1983 movie.

^ Still waiting for it to come out in paperback... Last month I read some more of James Rollins' SIGMA series novels (actually the ones which were released before "Judas Strain", which I read at the start of this year): " Sandstorm" - I really enjoyed this book; the plot was intriguing and the characters and their relationships were interesting. As this book is classed as a prequel, it follows Painter Crowe who becomes the boss of the protagonist in the next books in the series. The only negative thing I have to comment on is that Rollins stereotypes the British characters as many America films/tv shows/novels do... " Map of Bones" - Again, the plot was gripping but in this book, I found myself wanting to read more about the developing relationship between the protagonist, Gray Pierce, and Rachel - who joins the SIGMA team to solve the mysteries throughout the book. The way the "new" characters were introduced was really good and there is also a nice twist in that the sister of one of the characters who was killed in previous book is introduced in this one. I enjoyed this book a lot although the ending was a little disappointing. " Black Order" - I thought this one started a bit too slowly but once I was 1/4 or so in it started getting more interesting. The plot was ok, not as exciting as the previous two book's plots but it was still enjoyable. This book includes the same characters from the previous one but some of the relationships have changed, for better and for worse... and the end of the book is quite sad if you've been following the relationship between Gray and Rachel. And this leads me to " Judas Strain", which I'd already read and commented on in this thread.
