Shannen's New TV Show

Looks like WE TV will not only be showing Charmed but also a reality show starring Shannen. I also didn't know she was engaged.

The former "Charmed" and "Beverly Hills 90210" actress will star in a new, one-hour original series tentatively titled, "The Shannen Doherty Project.

The eight-part WE tv series will showcase Shannen's relationship with photographer Kurt Iswarienko as they meld and intertwine their lives filled with challenging, comical, and dramatic moments.

The former "Dancing with the Stars" contestant will let the cameras follows her as she prepares for her wedding, deals with a house tragedy that may end in lawsuits and pursues her ongoing career as an actress.

"Shannen's relationships and life experiences make her a riveting personality to watch. This is an opportunity for audiences to get a rare sneak peek into the real Shannen, who has been notorious about guarding her private life," John Miller, WE tv's senior vice president, original productions & development, said in a statement to Access Hollywood. "Her situations are familiar and [that] is what will make this series stand apart from other celeb-reality shows."
Shannen will begin filming in August and her series is slated to air in 2012

I just saw this when I noticed Shannen Doherty was a trending search topic on the yahoo front page. I may watch this, even though I tend to avoid most reality shows to be honest.

I just got done reading a few online articles about her upcoming show & I have to say that I am very curious.
Aside from the obvious attraction that WEtv has towards the concept and Shannen, it may be that the network is successful enough with the "Charmed" re-runs, hence giving Shannen her own show. For the network, I think it brings things full-circle because Shannen is still a relevant woman. Something tells me Shannen was very smart in going to WEtv because that network is currently successful with the "Charmed" re-runs and let's be honest: ain't nobody getting a reality show (in primetime no less) on TNT. ;-p

And also, to be completely honest, after reading Shannen's "Badass" book, I'm definitely up for hearing what she has to say in a "reality" show of sorts. There is NOT anyone else out there with a successful reality show that has had the meaningful things to say in their books/memoirs like Shannen has...and depending on the advertisements and press coverage of the series, we're either looking at a show that can be cancelled after a few episodes or a show that could gain in popularity due to word of mouth, such as Kathy Griffin's "My Life On the D-List." The good thing for Shannen is that her ratings will (in all likelihood) be really weak for the main networks, but relative to the WEtv network, very strong ratings.
