I'm always about to remember since I was moving this week. We were also shopping and wondered then why the sellers did stand in front of the TVs instead of working. We hadn't realized that something had happened. Though the news on the way back were full with it. Only later when we were back at home did we realize what had happened. I'm always getting goose skin on this day.
Still, I always shudder when I watch the movie "The last hours in the WTC" made by the Naudet brothers. It makes me angsty. Plus, the music by Enya. This one song!

Not sure how many people are also commemorating the 11th anniversary of 9-11, but there was a repeat of an interview on my local radio station that was absolutely amazing in a very-much feel-good type of way. If you'd like Check it out!

I remember hearing about the attack on the towers by one of my friends in elementary school who had found out from her teachers because she was a couple years older than me.
Last night I put on the Passionate Eye and it was talking about the last phone lls people had received from the tower that day and had to turn the show off because I was crying. I then looked at some of the iconic pictures from that day and ended crying again.
I know the past few days the one of the local stations had been airing some shows that talked about the attack and those that had helped the best they could.

Did you get a chance to read 9-11 by Noazmale? From what you've said and the fact that you're a Charmed fan, I really think you'd like it. I re-read it every 9-11.

Its hard to believe that this event was 22 years ago.
This post was created 12 years ago on its 10 year anniversary.
I feel like when I watch Charmed, it reminds me of the time period that this event happened - in between Seasons 3 and 4, when I was about 13 years old.
I woke up to the news in New Zealand and remember the teachers at school being told not to engage in conversation about the event because no one knew what to say. We didn't have cell phones of TV's and it wasn't until the end of the day after school where we had learned that the 2 towers had fallen.
I still remember that feeling as a 13 year old knowing that the world had changed forever. To have grown up as a child in a post Cold War and pre-9/11 world is something I am so grateful for which makes me nostalgic about this period in simple times.
As the 22nd anniversary approaches and I reflect on the subsequent traumatic events in the world that have occurred, I feel for the victims and the legacy of 9/11. Watching Charmed sometimes makes me escape all the traumatic events that have happened over the last 2 decades.

Wasn't this because of 9/11? I heard Alyssa wore American flag colors because of it, for S4E6 "A Knight to Remember". But, Rose and Holly are in they're S4E4 "Enter the Demon" wear.

I remember exactly where I was that morning. It was the only morning I hadn't clicked on the morning news for a few minutes before leaving for work at about 6:30am. When I got to work the crew I worked with were sitting outside in the smoking area and one of the guys was talking about it. He was really animated and everyone thought he was joking or that he was just telling some story because he had kind of a strange demeanor. Someone else pulled up and started talking about it. The day was spent with any of us who had a radio, listening to the radio stations and the coverage of it. I got home and actually wrote a poem about it in about 5 minutes which has been published through poetry.com and in the local newspaper and in my Gran's church bulletin. I wrote another poem a couple years ago on the 20th anniversary as well.

Again because it's 9/11, I decided to bump this thread. I'll commemorate it the way I always do - Rereading 9-11 by Noazmale and watching my DVD "United 93", especially watching the actor playing Thomas Burnett, Jr, who although he was living (and returning to...) in California, he was born and went to school in the Minneapolis/St Paul area. I think it's cool that the state where I live, Minnesota, has its own 9/11 hero.
