Just read 17 and with the way the current artist draws they wouldnt have to worry abotu getting Shannens permission to use her likeness since the characters dont look enough like themselves for that to even be a problem. And they shouldve kept Prue brunette instead of going blonde.

Just got and read #15-#17 AND I LOVE PAUL RUDITIS!!! I don't care what Prue looks like; she's absolutely totally PRUE!!! Just like her true sisters, I recognize her soul; Paul has captured it perfectly even if the images leave a lot to be desired. But his explanation for what all has happened since Prue's death--YES!!! "Ultimate power, my a$$!" I thought I was going to die laughing on the bus from that one!
And best of all, absolutely no Power of Four and it is indeed the Original Power of Three that was meant to be! YES!!! Can't wait to read more! I was *so* disappointed when I realized that I had gotten to through the most recent issue!
Sorry for any spoiling I might have done, but I've yet to figure out how to make that work and I'M EXCITED! Probably the most excited I've been about Charmed since Prue's death!

I just wish Zenscope could get better artists and bring Charmed some more kick in publicity department.
But I am happy the way the writer is writing this story. So sad to think that they couldnt think of something like this while the show was still on.

I knew you'd be happy, Esmeralda!  I love issues 15-17. They're amazing! Prue's return is pretty much perfect - better than anything I've ever conceived. It fits SO WELL in the Charmedverse! SPOILERS AHOY:I love that there's a REASON the Charmed Ones got power boosts in the earlier issues. It wasn't just Ruditis buffing them up for $hits and giggles - it was Prue's magnetism, her bond to her sisters amplified their powers more to their true potential. She was like an invisible link that made them stronger. Her absence was the reason that "The Ultimate Power" was able to be such a threat to the Charmed Ones because Prue's absence actually held them back, didn't let them be truly as powerful as they should be.
So her return to earth actually strengthened the COs because of Prue's lasting bond with them. Prue was a catalyst of sorts that gave them strength. However, should any of her sisters actually bond with her the catalyst becomes cataclysmic - since the four of them were never meant to come together. When Paige touches Prue, $HIT GOES DOWN. Their powers burst, in a sense, becoming even more powerful... I wonder how long it'll be before their powers burn out?  This is my favourite storyline in Charmed ... EVER. There's a potential problem for Prue using Astral Projection. The power itself is moving things with your Soul ... and since Prue's soul looks like Shannen Doherty... they could get around this problem though in a frame or two - simply have Prue's soul face away from the viewer. They way we can see a recognisable Prue, but they won't have to use shannen's face. She'll just look like any dark-haired woman from the back. I hope they do that - I really do! |

She'd be moving her astral self, not her soul. Her soul remains behind in the body, the reason the body doesn't die. Her astral self would not necessarily look like her. I think they could get away with it looking like Patience giving what she has done. Funny, seeing how it appears that Paul Ruditis has been planning this for years and artists were working on drawings of Shannen Doherty as Prue and because no one has actually heard Shannen (or any of the others) say that she refused to allow her image shown, I can't help wondering if she actually hasn't; if that was just a tiny ruse so that it's easier for fans to accept Patience as Prue...and so we're more surprised when at one time or another something happens so she *does* look like Shannen. I'm probably WAY off track here, but... |

Yeah, other then when it was malfunctioning in Just Harried, she was always wearing that same clothes with the same hairstyle. If it was her soul, I'd think it would have looked different at times, though I am certainly not an expert.
Another item to add to your list of suspicions on Shannen . . . if she had said no, why would Holly act surprised to hear that? And then clam up when people tried to press her.

Just read that Shannen won't give permission to Zenescope to use her likeness on the comics. So disappointing.  HDonoho (Now, H_Combs) - phoebe1_ Really? That seems odd. I don't know why she wouldn't. It's not much of a conversation, but it does seem that Holly is expressing surprise. |

To me, this more and more sounds like had they asked her, she would've agreed, but they never asked her - that all the hassle about her not agreeing was just setting us up so we'd accept Ruditis' explanation for Prue not looking like Shannen - that doing this with her character was his plan all along.
Naturally, it *could* be spin on *her* part, but I don't think so.

No offense to the Patience fans out there, but I would have fought tooth and nail to get Shannon to agree to allow the Comics to use her likeness, Why didn't she in the first place? Does she have a problem with Charmed... I don't think so since she owns 5% of the Charmed Franchise.

Because the comics had nothing to do with her agreement to not have her likeness shown on TV without her permission. She didn't need to give permission any more than anyone else did - they did not ask *anyone* for permission.
And unless you've read the comics...no, her not looking like Shannen and having to explain to everyone why Prue is suddenly alive makes a lot more sense.
