Just spot this at another site and decided to share: This is what Paul Ruditis, the man who writes for the comics had to say in a very recent interview :
At this point, I'd like to add a question that wasn’t asked. Normally I wouldn't answer this kind of question because I don't like to give spoilers and you were right to leave it out. However, I do realize how much anticipation is building and I want to be fair to the readers. That said, let's get to the question:
But seriously. Turn back now if you don't want to know.
21. Is Prue coming back?
Yes. And no. It was our hope all along that we could obtain the rights to draw Prue’s likeness. CBS was very much in favor of it and worked with Zenescope to see if it could happen. As those of you who know how long it took to get the comic books up and running in the first place will understand, this kind of thing is often a time consuming process.
Unfortunately, I was told earlier this year that it was not going to be possible. Zenescope could not obtain the likeness rights to draw Prue as we know her.
Then it became a question of whether or not we should use the character in some other form or just continue to ignore Prue as they had in the series after her death. I felt very strongly that her story had more to it and we were able to get the approval to tell that tale within the constraints of the likeness rights situation. Please know that I have spent a lot of time working this storyline out to make sure that it has grown out of a genuine place within the mythology. I hope to give this beloved character the return she so richly deserves. Even though you might not recognize her physically, I hope you can still connect with her emotionally.
Oh, and the story arc will be five issues long, unless someone decides to make it six. So far neither of the arcs were the length they were originally planned to be so I wouldn’t be surprised if this one changes as well.
Although since I’m almost done writing it, I really hope no one asks me to change it now. I can tell from the previous issues that I'm going to be wrong and she won't be reincarnated as Chris (rats, fooey!), but however he does it, Paul Ruditis has done a great job with the characters so far, even when the likenesses leave something to be desired. I trust that he will indeed "give this beloved character the return she so richly deserves." It does indeed sound like once more it's Shannen standing in the way of letting us see Prue look like Prue, but as long as she's the character I loved, I don't think I'll mind that much.

Well considering this new character who's name just happens to start with a P, and just happens to be able to move things with her mind just showed up in the latest issue... I'd say Prue's back.

I think that Paul Ruditis is doing a magnificent job, and if I'm honest really salvaging the disaster of S8.
I hope that they don't make Prue's return to lengthy - maybe a short arc, although I've only read up to 'The Charmed Offensive' so I think I'm quite behind!

Nope, it sounds like it's just going to be five or six issues long, which has been the standard size of their story arcs.

I'm afraid I haven't heard of any place where you can read them online, but you can go to the Zenoscope website and order them - or you might be able to find them on Amazon.com.

A talented artist could be able to draw Prue to not look like Shannen, but still be recognizable.

Im only a few issues into season 9, Its disappointing they couldnt obtain the rights to Prues likeness. I cant imagine Shannen would deny them this just to be spiteful. I know Shannen didnt leave the show on the best note, but the same could be said for the original 90210 which she chose to return to.
Maybe she was just worried of what they would do to her character? I hope that in the future we get to see Prue as Prue in the comics. Anyway, Im looking forward to catching up on all the comics.

Disappointed at the appearance thing like everyone else, but highly excited about Prue’s story arc, especially after reading the reviews of issue 16 and catching a very spoilerish preview. Even though I saw it coming, since Paul hinted it in one of his interviews in Oct 2010: TFAW.com: Would there be disastrous consequences to having four Charmed Ones instead of three?
PR: I don’t know that “disastrous” is the word I’d use. Though I suspect there would have to be some kind of repercussions. The prophecy was about the Power of Three after all, not the Power of Four.I’m still excited to see how he executes it

Well, the tension in the family will be high, especially with Paige.

People thought she had a beef with Alyssa while it was more with him and that's why she never let us see her again

What beef did she have with Brad? Is it because she wanted the show to go in a darker route?

ohh how exciting! I have been out for a while, can someone please tell me where to go to read these comics online? Or where to go to order them? Thank-you in advance You can read a digital copy at comiXology.com (or via either their comic app or Zenescope's). Issue 0 is free to read. Issues 1-13, and 15 are $1.99. Issue 16 is $2.99 (still less then $3.50 plus tax for a physical copy) and I'm guessing that issues 17 on will be at the $2.99 price. Issue 14 is only available to people who purchase the physical copy and contact Zenescope with a picture of their copy or a picture of the back of their copy. For them it is free, because of the mistake made of a duplicate page. I assume eventually it will be available to the general public. Volume 1 is $7.99. Volume 2 is not yet available, but I'm guessing that because the size differs, so will the price. Hope that helps. I'm hoping that eventually Prue will be able to look like Prue, especially so that we can see flashbacks and stuff like that. Or maybe even mini series that take place during earlier time frames. Zenescope has done some five to twelve issue mini series off their Grimm series, why not Charmed in a year or two when it's more established.

Im really intrigued if Shannen declined to have them use her image for the comic. I just dont see why she would say no.

Or maybe she has an overzealous secretary who is not letting Zenescope talk to her. I wish that a fan could get her to answer them somewhere, so that we knew for sure if it was Shannen or something else. The only place I have ever seen her is twitter and that's been quite some time.

I'm indifferent to whether we get to see Shannen as Prue in the comics now. At first I was miffed, but after reading certain issues (I won't spoil anything) I think that the way Paul has written the story works just perfectly, and Shannen's image isn't needed.

After reading the detailed summary you posted joshingabout, I so so wish they make an animated movie right now about issue 17 ;D And I really won't care if Prue doesn't look like Prue in it. You're so getting blessed!
