Today (October 28th, 2011) would have been Prue's 41st Birthday. Gosh how time flies.
I can't imagine how Prue would react with being forty! So I thought I'd strike up an interesting debate to mark the occasion:
How do you think Prue would be now if she hadn't died a decade ago? How do you think she would have grown; personally, professionally and magically?

Wow. That's an interesting question.
Professionally depends upon how they were in their magical life. Say that everything happened the same way except it was Prue rather than Paige (Since Prue is in the picture, Paige would've never existed - had Shannen remained, Kern would've never had to invent Paige and never would've). The sisters would still be in the midst of the 20-year truce. Not needing to save innocents - like Christy, whom I'm sure she would've helped save - she would concentrate on her professional life like Piper did with her restaurant. I'm sure she would be a Pulitzer-prize winning photographer. I don't think she would belong to any company or own one, just be independent.
Also with the truce in place, I think she would've married and have a family. I like to think of her waiting for Bane to get out of jail (and her and Darryl helping him get out of jail early for good behavior - before Darryl moved East) and they're very happily married with the twin girls and the son who we saw with Paige - although I don't think she would've named the son Bane, Jr.
That's what I would wish for her.
Next?

Hmmmm . . . I don't know if I could see her marrying Bane. She managed to conveniently forget him by Season 3.

Did she? Or did she just not mention him? I think there's a reason she never had a serious relationship after him - and I think it was him.
Especially with the truce in place, if there was a way to bring Andy back, of course I'd want Prue to marry Andy. But I don't think that's possible and I do believe Bane would be her second choice.
And, OH, wouldn't they have the most gorgeous children!

In my opinion, I think that if Prue hadn't ever been killed off, there would have ample opportunity to introduce a new character in Season 4 or 5 for her to become romantically involved in - I didn't really like Bane. He brought out Prue's rebellious side but I wouldn't say they were 'marriage material'. I think a new character would've worked best - and also, I always thought she would be the last to marry.

Hehe Prue would steal Cole from Pheobe, she would kick the Source's butt and have 3 kids! She'd also name one of the boys Andy in memory or her first love <3

Na, she'd have three girls - the next set of Charmed Ones - and the oldest would be Andrea - Andi.

Prue also wouldn't fall for the "Chris is randomly from the future to save Paige" Thing, and she also wouldn't have forgiven him moment she finds out he's Piper's son... eventually sure but it might take a few weeks.

Hmm...I wonder if she would've forgiven him at all, unless he truly said he was sorry, which he never did. No one could hold a grudge like Prue, and especially if she was the one who was frozen and who he said was dead and then had it proved that she wasn't... I don't think him being a family member would be enough for her to forgive him that quickly - especially when by that point Piper was pregnant with her nephew - this one was just another form of him and not truly her nephew.
Personally I think if she'd been around, she would've sent his skinny little ass back to the future where it belonged before they even knew who he was. And, oh, would she have given Leo whatfor for what he did to Piper! And give Piper whatfor for feeling sorry for herself!
Although, of course, if she was around, Chris wouldn't be trying to save Paige....
But then I also don't think Prue and Chris would be around together, since despite the comics, I still believe that Chris is the reincarnation of Prue...

Yup, Chris definitely was the reincarnation of Prue (A really lame incarnation) but a reincarnation none the less. Also when he did the door closing at the end of Season 5, why didn't they just let him a Prue-style door closing. Do you guys think he should have done a Prue-style door closing?

No, I'm glad he didn't - if I had thought of him as the reincarnation of Prue right away, I would've reacted to him differently - the way the sisters ended up reacting to him when they found out he was their nephew.
What about the rest of you?

From what I read Chris could be seen as a reincarnation of Prue as he has more resemblance to her than to Piper. With his powers and looks at the end of S5. Whatever happened afterwards, I don't know who to blame: the authors or BK.

Blame the fans - they didn't want him to be what BK and the writers wanted him to be, so they changed him, making him seem like a liar.

Personally if I was Piper, I would've bound Chris and Wyatt's powers after all of the drama they put her through. I would be so wrecked after the whole Gideon thing, that I would just want to take the Grams route and bind their powers until they are old enough to comprehend the power they possess especially Wyatt. Maybe at 8 or 9 I'd unbind their powers idk, what do you guys think? Is that just selfish to do?

I thought there was something somewhere that if Piper bound their powers, then somehow Barbas would get them, but except for that, I never quite understood why she didn't bound their powers. Especially if it would take the boys (and any other kids) off Evil's radar, the way binding the sisters' powers took *them* off that radar, it seems more selfish to me that she didn't, especially for how much she whined about having a normal life, you would think she'd want that for her boys.
As for what age, well, what age were Prue and Piper in "That Seventies Episode"? They did a pretty good job with their powers.
Of course, if you take it by the birth years most people give them, Prue would be almost four and Piper would be two, and I can't quite see a two-year-old handling her power as well as Piper did. Now they were both played by 8-year-olds, so you might be right that eight years would be just about right.
Although with all of Wyatt's powers, I think I would've preferred waiting on him even longer to be sure that he could properly handle them. Of course if Piper *had* done that in the original timeline, they would've become unbound when she died the way the sisters did when Grams died. And that might have been what happened - they may have become unbound before he was ready and gone to his head.

See that's what I think too. I didn't like that Phoebe and Paige convinced her that binding Wyatt's powers is a bad idea, a bad idea to bind the powers of a kid powerful enough to conjure a dragon out of the TV. Okay, I love Paige and did love Phoebs but it's not really their decision whether or not binding Wyatt's powers are bad. He is extremely powerful and wasn't ready for the magic he possessed. Binding his powers and Chris's would've kept them off the demonic radar just like the sisters when they were kids.

What a fascinating question. Now she would be 47 or 48.
But what Kern thouught Prue should end up like is three daughters. I think she would advance her photography career.

I would have still loved the idea of her in the future owning bucklands and other antique companies like we saw in morality bites.

It would be nice to see how she turns out and If she wasn't running those companies bad. I always wanted to see how she turns out. But I don't think Kerns maybe a wonderfully written Fanfic.
