Animosity of Affinity

Melinda smiled as Andy told her about her Aunt. She could tell Andy had loved her very much, but began to wonder if she would ever be good enough for Andy. She brushed away the thought, not wanting Andy to feel any emotion from her. “I’m sorry” she said at his last statement. “I know she loved you very much, my mother used to tell me stories when I was younger” she said trying to force a smile.

Andy smiled a little bit. "Yeah, I know she did. We just...it never seemed to work out between the two of us. Broke up after high school, and when we ran into each other after Grams died, she had powers and secrets arose." He needed to stop thinking about it. He knew that couldn't be good for Melinda. He didn't want to compare them. "Did you know I was married?" he asked, remembering what happened when Prue found out.

“Oh uh no…that part was left out” she said thinking she was never going to measure up to Prue or any of Andy’s past loves. Great, just great. She thought looking away from Andy a second. Of course he had been married before, who wouldn’t want to be with Andy he was great and she was just Melinda.

Andy felt really bad at that moment by her tone and her movements. "Melinda. I'm not bringing this up to make you feel...like you have something to live up to, I'm just telling you about my past. I don't compare you to anyone, and I won't. Everyone has a past, and my includes two people I loved very much."

Tears were flooding down her face as she heard the sounds of orbs, she didn't want to look, cause she wasn't sure who it was, when she felt arms around her. She looked up to see Chris. "Hi!" Cherish said, as she smiled, she looked at him with intensity, she wanted to kiss him, she wanted to hold him back, she wanted to love him. She wiped a tear from her cheek and put her head back down "ar e you okay?" She asked.

Melinda looked back over at Andy “I know I’m sorry” she said with a smile, then thinking of something “Andy….” She said trailing off a bit “May I show you something?” she said looking up at Andy he had shown her something special it was about time she showed him something special.

(knock Knock), someone was at the door and impatiently knocking, interupting Chris and Cherish's moment.

Cherish was just about to lean up and kiss him when she heard a knock on the door. 'Maybe if I ignore it itll go away' SHe thought. 'But what if it was someone who needed help, what if it was Mona' Cherish decided to put away her selfish desires and answer the door. She went to the door and looked through the peep hole and saw a boy, not just any boy, but Neo. She flew open the door and welcomed him home. "Your home!!!"

Neo was exhausted from his trip and was glad to finally see a familiar face."Cherish! its been a long time, how've things been?". He got his luggage and brought it in the Apt. Then he got a glimpse of his cousin Chris. " Chris, it's good to finally see you, not that you couldn't 'orb in' and pay me a visit in Africa", Neo said sarcastically and honestly at the same time. "you were busy?"

Cherish looked at Chris, he looked pretty tired and warn out, "Chris, why dont you go ahead and lay down, you are looking pretty tired." Cherish sent him to bed, that way her and Neo could talk, and Chris could sleep. Getting back to Neos question, "Im doing okay, considering! How about you, how was your trip?"

"Hmm?" Andy asked when she said his name. "Of course, you can show me anything, Melinda." He sat up straighter and looked at her. "What would you like to show me?" He forgot about his exwife and Prue for the moment and kept his attention on his...charge.

" I saw alot of things I never thought I'd see, even after seeing all them demons and warlocks. It was great. But I missed you guys, you kind of feel isolated when your the only one who can speak english." Neo responded. Then he went to the kitchen to get something to eat while Chris rested. Cherish followed.

"Yeah we certainly missed you here too. You missed a lot! But I wish I could go to Africa to get away for awhile" Cherish would love to have erased the last few months, years and even the last few days. "So were you demon free over there?"

"Not completly, I was for the first week, but then there were vuodu docters and whatnot and I had to clean that mess up. Thanks to your spell to vanquish demons though, I vanquished them. But besides that things were refreshing; so how's Malinda? Last she called me, she seemed down a bit", Neo asked, but he knew why she felt bad, with her brother taking control and all.

Melinda looked up to Andy with a smile, before grabbing his hand and pulling him with her. After a minute or so, they both stopped at a tree. “You see this tree? It’s supposed to be tied to magic in some way. If you carve the initials of yourself and the one you love, it’s supposed to tie them together. I don’t know if it’s really true, but it’s something my Mother told me about.” She said looking up at Andy wondering if he would carve his initials next to hers. She didn’t realize that on the other side was Wyatt and Mona’s initials.

"Uhh...Melinda, well, shes, great, kinda, not really, well, shes ALIVE!" CHerish got all smiley when she said that, but then, her mood just kinda flipped. It was so hard to put a point on Melinda's emotions. Lately it was hard to put a point on anyones emotions, "So, are you staying here or are you getting your own place?" She swayed back and fourth biting her lip, it was hard to talk to someone about something other than demons, or wyatt, or the constant attacks on them.

Andy followed Melinda through the park until they stopped at a big tree. It was a beautiful tree and there were carvings already there from other couples. Andy listened to Melinda explain what the tree was and laughed. Wasn't he too old to carve his name in a tree? "So, you want us to...carver our initials?" he asked with a chuckle.

"Well, if you guys don't mind that is, I just got back and because of my trip I had to let go of my room in my roomie's apt, so, for now, it'd be nice to live here till I can get a place of my own. I'll rack up some cash at the Pizzeria, I know how crowded it could get in here", Neo stopped for a moment and pondered, "I miss the manor already, things were a lot better before, even when I'd get into trouble and all, I never saw something this bad coming our way, so many lives lost", he saw Cherish's eyes avert upward and begin to water, and quickly changed the mood of his conversation, "But things are bound to get better, they always do."

“Well yeah….Andy” she said with a laugh. “You are immortal age doesn’t count” she said handing him a stick “Oh come on it will be fun” she said nudging him on the shoulder

"Yeah, I'm immortal, but when I died I was too old for this," he continued to laugh. Andy took the stick and looked at Melinda again. "I would only do this for you, Melinda. Just remember that." He moved the stick to the tree and marked AT and handed the stick to Melinda.
