EPISODE 1- VENGEFUL FUTURES
PART 1
Phoebe Halliwell got into her car and turned on the ignition. She heaved a sigh as she pulled out of the parking lot. She was glad that her work day at The Bay Mirror was finally over. Elise had been especially demandingtoday. And if you knew Elise...that was really demanding, even for her. It also didn't help that she'd had a deadline today and she almost missed it because Baby Prue kept teleporting her back to the house because she hadn't wanted Phoebe to leave.
Prudence, better known as Prue, was of course named after the eldest sister who had died at the hands of Shax, one of the Source's assassin's, trying to protect Phoebe and Piper. Phoebe sadly closed her eyes in a moment of remembrance for her fallen sister.
Her and Piper had been lost without Prue there to guide them. She was pretty much the best at everything she did. Piper was the most emotional. She even turned into a Fury because of all the pain Prue's death had caused her. She couldn't seem to wrap her head around the fact that her sister, her best friend, could just suddenly be gone.
But they had all gotten over it. They had discovered their half sister Paige, and restored the Power of Three.
Phoebe walked up the steps and into her new house. She still needed to get used to not living in the manor even though it had been half a year since she moved in with Coop. The house was way lessimpressive than the old Victorian manor that had been passed down from several generations of halliwell's. But all in all it was a pretty good house to live in. "Coop!" Phoebe called out, setting her purse on the coffee table. She peered in the hallway to look for him.
He emerged from Pandora's room and walked over and planted a quick kiss on her lips and brushed past her, making his way to the couch. Phoebe sat down nextto him.
"Have a good day at work?" he asked.
Phoebe groaned thinking once again about Elise and her day at The Bay Mirror. "Elise was in a very bad mood today. I am so lucky I didn't get fired after being late and then almost missing the deadline. Prue better not start doing that everyday or I'm going to be unenployed."
Coop sighed and pulled Phoebe against him. She rested her head against his shoulder. "Don't worry. We will teach the girls' how to control their powers."
Phoebe sighed. "I hope so." There was a moment of silence and then Phoebe asked,"Piper and Paige were wondering if we would come for dinner tonight. Would that be alright?"
"Sounds like a plan." He smiled down at her.
I have never felt more happy, Phoebe thought.
PART 2
"Piper! Piper!" Paige looked for Piper everywhere but still couldn't find her. Uh-oh, Paige thought. That leaves only one place where she could possibly be....
Paige entered the attic and there was Piper, exactly where Paige knew she would be, flipping through the Book of Shadows.
"Of course!" Paige burst out, making Piper jump. She should have known this would happen. "What's the demon?"
Piper looked up in surprise. "What?" she asked. Confusion was etched on her face.
"You are looking through the Book," Paige stated, gesturing toward the Book of Shadows.
Piper cracked a smile and walked over to Paige. "Honey, I'm just getting Grams' secret apple pie recipe that she hid in the Book. I have to have dessert for Coop and Phoebe when they come for dinner."
Oh thank God! Paige had been so worried. So worried that eventually some demon would come and mess up their lives like it always did. The Angel of Destiny had told them more than once that their destiny was fullfilled. It could always change, right?
" So Phoebe and Coop are coming?"she asked, following Piper downstairs to the kitchen.
"Yeah, they decided to come. It will be nice to have her again. It will be like it used to be."
"Except no demons," Paige said sternly.
Piper smiled. "Yes, no demons."
A high pitched cry sounded from upstairs. Piper sighed. "That's Melinda. I should probably go check on her." Piper hurried back up the stairs where she and Paige had just come. Paige sighed. Alone again.
Paige heard footsteps grogily coming down the stairs. She spun around and almost collided into Henry. Henry ran his hand through his already messed up, brown hair. Paige gave him a look of disbelief. "Were you sleeping?!" she asked him. Henry had been sleeping a awful lot lately. Paige was starting to worry about him. She couldn't believe he was sleeping at six o'clock p.m.
"Yeah, I was taking a nap, Henry replied. It was obvious he was still half asleep. "One of the kids woke me up."
"That was Melinda," Paige told him. "Phoebe and Coop are coming for dinner, so you better make yourself presentable." As if on cue, the doorbell rang. "That's them. Go get ready! Go! Go!" Paige shouted frantically, pushing him back up the stairs and then going to meet Phoebe at the door.
But before Paige could make it to the door, Phoebe appearred in front of her in a glow of magenta light. Phoebe looked around realizing she was no longer outside. She groaned. "Prue!" she cried out in frustration.
Paige gave her a questioning look. "I'll explain later," Phoebe told her.
**********
"So what was up with your teleportation into the manor?" Paige asked Phoebe when everyone was sitting at the dinner table.
"Teleportation?" Leo asked curiously.
"Prue is coming into her powers," Phoebe explained between bites. "Apparently she can teleport things just like Wyatt can orb things. The power comes from her Cupid side."
Paige thought about that for a minute. She had always thought it was cool what powers children inherited from their parents. She wondered which of her powers her and Henry's children would have. If they did have children. Paige wanted children. She was beginning to feel like a third wheel, both her sisters had husbands and kids, and here she was, childless.
"Piper, this is great food," Leo said with his mouth full. Coop gave him a funny look. Henry was falling asleep, Paige wanted to throttle him.
Piper had been about to tell Leo thank you when there was a crash and then a cry from upstairs. Coop teleported himself and Phoebe and Paige orbed upstairs.
The attic was a disaster. There was glass everywhere from the broken window. Paige heard footsteps pounding on the stairs. Piper and Leo. Wyatt had put up his protective shield. Chris was crying. And Melinda, where was Melinda?
Piper and Leo finally reached the top of the stairs. In seeming the empty crib, Piper ran over to it. "My baby! Where s my baby?!"
E eryone looked to the crib, surprised to find it empty. Melinda was gone, vanished without a trace.
PART THREE
Piper paced in the attic. Her eyes were puffy, she had been crying. If one of her children was taken Piper usually didn't cry. She was used to demons kidnapping her children. But a demon had not tried to attack them for over a year now, Piper had thought they were free of all that stuff. Well apparrently she was wrong. They didn't get ti retire, just take a vacation. Well vacation was over.
She turned back to the Book of Shadows and began flipping through it for about the tenth time. She had to find Melinda, she had to. She didn't even know what she was looking for. They had not seen what took Piper's daughter. It could have been anything, anyone. Piper thought about how everyone e was so surprised to see that Melinda was taken. Well, she wasn't. It was just another average day in the lives of the Charmed Ones. They could never escape their destiny it seemed.
Where was Henry when everyone had rushed upstairs? He had 't been the most social lately and he was never around. She wondered briefly if Paige gad noticed?
"Are you doing ok, Piper?" asked Phoebe, walking into the attic.
"No, I'm not doing ok," Piper replied blinking away tears, her eyes not swaying from the Book.
Phoebe trailed her fingers along Melinda s crib. "I am sure we'll--" she gasped in mid-sentence. Piper immediateley realized Phoebe was having a preminition and rushed to her side.
When Phoebe's eyes came back into focus, Piper asked, "what did you see?"
"I saw a reddish demon taking Melinda out the window and then I saw the future Chris and Melinda fighting the same demon."
Piper's forehead wrinkled in thought then she got an idea. She ran to the Book of. Shadows and recited a spell:
"Come back where it once begun,
I summon future daughter and son,
It is the will of a Charmed One.
I pillar of swirling winds spun in front of him. When they stopped, two figures stood before Piper.
"Hi Mom!" Melinda waved.
"What's going on?" Chris asked.
PART FOUR
"Well, what are we doing here?" Chris asked when everyone except Paige and Henry were sitting around the attic.
"We don't exactly know," Phoebe replied, looking at both of her sisters in turn. "A demon kidnapped Melinda earlier this evening, and then I just had a preminition of you two fighting the same demon."
Chris looked over at his sister. She was living proof that his mother, Aunt Phoebe, and Aunt Paige were going to save Baby Melinda. If they didn't then future fourteen-year-old Melinda wouldn't be there right now. "What did this demon look like?" Melinda asked. Phoebe told Melinda the description of the demon she had seen, and she paled and dropped the cup of tea she had been drinking. It hits the floor where it-luckily-didn't break. Chris looked at his sister. He could tell what she was thinking. "Could I have a moment alone to talk to my sister?" Everyone gave their agreement and the children of Piper Halliwell made their way to the other side of the attic where they would not be overheard.
Chris lowered his voice to a whisper, "look Mel, I know what you are thinking but it's not Torrak."
"Why not? It has to be Torrak, he kidnapped me as a baby around when I was just born," Melinda disagreed. "If it is him, we can stop the past from happening! We can save Wy--"
Chris cut his sister off. "We can't save him, he's already gone. We can't alter the past, it's not meant to be." Chris hung his head. He wanted to change what had happened. But they couldn't, no matter how much they wanted to.
"But what if we are meant to? We were sent back to the past for a reason, what if it was to change it?" she argued. Chris had to give it to her, she made a good point. "To get our brother back," she added.
Chris sighed and finally gave in. His little sister always got what she wanted. No one could resist her pleading.
Chris and Mel walked over to the rest of their family. Mom, with her caring, worrying, expressittyyyyon. Dad with his gentle, father-like expression. Aunt Phoebe talking to Uncle Coop in a hushed tone of voice. He was looking stern.
"Ahem," Chris cleared his throat to let everyone know they were done talking. Everyone stared at him expectantly. He shifted uncomfortably. "I think I might know who this demon is," he began. "So get comfortable," he said, sitting down next to Piper. "I have a story to tell."
PART FIVE
"My parents-in the future- told me about a demon who kidnapped Melinda when she was only a few weeks old," Chris told everybody.
"The demon, Torrak, Mom found out he took my powers to keep for himself. I haven't had powers my whole life, not since I was taken, " Melinda told them, facing Piper. They all gave her "ohmygod" looks. "We all looked and looked for Torrak," continued Melinda. "But we never found him. And then just recently, he came back." She lowered her head. A lone tear coursed down her cheek. "He killed Wyatt," she said silently.
At this, Piper was outraged. She got to her feet and asked, "he killed my baby?" Melinda nodded. "And took your powers?" Melinda nodded again. Piper looked over at Wyatt who was fighting with Baby Chris over a toy fire truck. "Leo take the kids to Magic School," Piper told him, walking over to the Book.
"Why, what are you going to do?" he asked.
"I'm gonna vanguish this son of a bitch."
Leo orbed Wyatt and Chris away, while Coop beamed Prue and Pandora.
Melinda, Chris and Phoebe stood by the Book next to Piper. "You won't find Torrak in there," Chris told her. " Me and Melinda have already checked a thousand times."
"Then what do you suspect we do?" Piper asked her future son.
"A simple Power of Three spell should get it done," Melinda told her.
Piper sighed. "Great, there is only one problem with that. For a Power of Three spell we need Paige."
PART SIX
Paige orbed into the dingy apartment. "Bridget? Bridget!" she called out to her newest charge. She could sense Bridget, so she knew she was here. Plus she heard whimpering. "Bridget, are you here? I'm no gonna hurt you".
"You are hurting me!" She screamed from where she was curled up in a corner. Her face was tear streaked. "All your emotions...I feel them pounding in my head! All your desires and inseecurites...I feel them, and they won't get out.....won't get out...."
Paige's heart ached for this poor girl. She wondered what was wrong with the girl? There was only one way to find out.....
Paige reached out and touched the girl's forearm. Instantly she felt the information flowing into her mind: Bridget Waltons, 17 years old, future empath. Oh, so this girl had the gift of empathy, it was all starting to make sense now. Phoebe had been empathic but she hadn't went crazy like Paige's charge because she was a witch and she was meant to have that power. Paige briefly recalled a story Piper had told her about a time when a demon had cursed Prue with the power of empathy. She wasn't meant to have that power so she broke down like Bridget. Prue would have been consumed completely by other people's emotions if she hadn't learnedly how to channel those emotions into her powers. Of course, the gift of empathy had been taken from her afterwards.
If only she could teach Bridget how to channel other people's emotions---but how?
"Paige!" That was Piper, she was calling for Paige. She wished she could yell back at her. Can't you see I'm with a charge? She thought. She got it that Piper wanted to refuel. Melinda, but couldn't she wait? Melinda was going to live, or else if she didn't Future Melinda would be dead.
Paige ignored Piper's calls and continued to work with Bridget. Bridget cringed as she reached out her hand. She clutched her head in pain. "Please Bridget, you have to listen to me! You are a empath, your meant to do lots of good in the world. This is your gift."
Bridget looked at her like she was crazy. "How can.....this...possibly....be my....gift?" She choked out.
"Look it is your gift. You are just not using it right," Paige tried to explain. "The only resonant it's doing this to you is because you're rejecting it. In order to make it work you have to embrace it."
Bridget looked as if she were actually considering what Paige has said, but then she shook her head and buried her face in her hands.
This is gonna take a while, Paige thought.
****************
Piper sighed in frustration and called out Paige's name for the tenth time. There was still no response. Where was Paige, a d why wasn't she answering any of Piper's calls? Didn't she understand how important this was?
"Great! Now what are we going to do?!" Chris shouted, throwing his arms up in impatience.
"Ok,ok! Keep your pants on!" She yelled back, causing Mel to stiffle a giggle. Chris shot her a glare and she stuck her tongue out at him.
During Chris and Melinda's silent exchange, Piper was busy trying to think up a plan. Well we're obviously not going to get Paige’s help, Piper thought.
"Found him!" Phoebe chirped from where she was sitting scrying for Torrak. "He's somewhere near the abandoned warehouses just south of Darryl's house."
When it came down to it, there was really only one option. They would have to go after the demon without Paige, Power of Three, or no. Piper grabbed her keys off the table and headed for the door. "Come on, let's go," she called to the rest of them.
"Where are we going?" Phoebe asked.
"To kick some demon ass, " she replied.
PART SEVEN
Phoebe followed Piper into the abanded warehouse. Piper was so determined on vanquishing this demon. Phoebe didn't think it was a good idea--going into battle without the power of three and a defenseless Melinda---but she didn't speak her concerns aloud, just continued walking behind Piper. "Come out, come out where ever you are," Piper called out. Phoebe was just about to comment that the demon was most likely not to answer her, when a big, burly demon stepped out from the shadows. He was just as Phoebe remembered him from her preminition. She glanced back at her niece and nephew. Chris looked like he was about to explode with hatred, and Melinda looked like she was going to collapse in fright, her face a ghostly shade of white. Phoebe could see her trembling under the demon's affixing gaze.
Torrak bellowed a bone-quivering laugh and said, "I knew you'd come for your baby, and now I have you right where I want you. Now you're mine."
"I don't think so buddy!" Piper said, trying to freeze him. But it didn't work on him.
He laughed again. "Your petty powers are no match for me, witch." He hit her hard sending her flying. Phoebe ran to make sure she was ok.
He was advancing on Piper and Phoebe again but Melinda got in front of them, shielding them. "No!" She shouted. "You took Wyatt from me. You're not taking g them too."
"I don't know him honey," Torrak replied in a menacing tone of voice. "But whoever he was, I hope he died begging for his life like you and your friends are going to."
Melinda didn't even have time to react as Torrak fired a energy ball at her. "No!" Chris shouted. He grabbed Melinda by the arm and orbed her away.
Phoebe and Piper ducked as the energy ball went sailing over their heads. "He couldn't take us with him?!" Phoebe shouted.
"Just recite the spell!" Piper shouted as Torrak walked toward them.
"To save the future,
And all that we know,
Send him back hurling
to the pits of Hell
Let him be vanguished so we'll all be free,
As it is said, so mote it be!"
There was a silence at first and then the demon laughed.
Phoebe gulped. It wasn't enough power, they needed the power of three.
They were so screwed.
PART EIGHT
Chris and Melinda orbed in behind Paige, causing her to jump in fright and causing Bridget to yelp in pain of all the emotions in the room. "Quick Paige! Mom and Aunt Phoebe---"Melinda peered at the cowering girl. "What's wrong with her?!"
"Melinda!" Chris shouted. "That's rude! She's obviously empathic." Paige was impressed with his nephew's vast knowledge, but didn't let it show.
"Empa-what?" Melinda asked.
Chris sighed. "Never mind. The important thing is that Mom and Aunt Phoebe are in trouble. They need you for a power of three spell."
"What?!" Paige exclaimed. "Why didn't I know about this?"
"Piper called you but you ignored her."
Upon hearing this, Paige felt extremely guilty. She had been dealing with Bridget at the time so she had ignored Piper's calls. Chris walked toward Bridget, holding out his hand.
"No! No, don't touch me!" She screamed, cringing away.
Chris remained unfazed. "It's okay. I'm going to help you", he told her gently. He placed his hands over her head and his hands began to glow. He was healing her.
"I didn't know you could heal that," Paige muttered. Bridget stood up, good as new.
She looked at Chris in amazement. "My hero," she said.
Chris blushed. "I wouldn't exactly say.... I mean, I'm no...." Chris desparately searched for the correct words.
"Oh, stop flirting, and lets go," Melinda told him. Bridget waved to Chris shyly as they all dissappeared into shiny blue orbs.
***********
Paige orbed into the warehouse with Chris and Melinda. As soon as she saw the demon coming toward her cornered sisters, she ran to their side. "Piper, I'm so sorry I didn't--" she tried to apologize.
"Apologize later, say the spell now!"
Paige looked down at the slip of paper in Piper's hand, and they all began to chant:
"To save the future,
And all that we know,
Send him back hurling
To the pits of Hell,
Let him be vanguished so we'll all be free,
As it is said, so mote it be!"
As the Charmed Ones finished the spell, Torrak looked at them with surprise. Then he burst into flame and then was gone.
They searched the back room and found Baby Melinda. They all went home.
PART NINE
Paige set down her coffee as Piper walked into the kitchen, yawning. She sat down in the chair accross from Paige.
Paige felt the corners of her mouth lift up in a small smile. "Get any sleep last night?" she asked.
Piper sighed. "No, I was too busy thinking about whether demons are going to come after us daily or if that was just a one time thing."
"I know what you mean," Paige replied. "But I've pretty much accepted the fact that when they tell us our destiny is fulfilled, it's a lie. We'll never truely be free of the evils that haunt us."
Piper and Paige were both silent. "So where's your man?" Piper asked, obviously talking about Henry.
Paige sighed. "Sleeping." Piper gave her a questioning look but could tell she didn't want to talk about.
And she was right. Paige didn't want to talk about it. She did 't even know if there was anything to talk about yet. But she kept going over what Bridget had said: "I can feel all your desires and insecurities."
Insecurities about what? About her.....marriage? Did Paige really want with all her heart, and all her soul, to be married to Henry?
Paige didn't know.
She didn't know anything.
The end of episode one! Did u lik?!

Did u lik?!
