Interesting.
I'd heard that there were problems at "Beverly Hills 90210" with Shannen but that she got fired because of a wanted haircut?! Alyssa did that on "Charmed" and nothing happened there. Strange!

One of the reasons she got fired, not only. Wonder what and how many reasons besides haircut there were  Hopefully we'll someday find out about the reasons...or atleast one of the interesting ones behind Charmed also. Here's another clip:

Alyssa had Kern wrapped around her finger because she was willing to play the sex goddess on what was then his series. Shannen hadn't done that on BH90210.

There is also a difference between Alyssa and Shannen, in terms of timing.
When Shannen did 90210, no one really knew who she was so she was probably kept on a tighter contract. Alyssa was already VERY established (Who's the Boss, Melrose Place, etc) by the time she did Charmed (and worked on the show a lot), so she probably had more freedom with her appearance, since she was already known as a sex symbol anyways).
