Season four is actually my favorite season! I loved everything about it. I do agree that they did an excellent job writing this new and important character into the show and not forgetting the other characters. I think they made the best decision in not having Paige pursue Cole. Had Prue stayed I wouldn't have minded her get feelings for Cole. I always thought they would have been a better couple.

I don't think Kern forgot this. In fact, I feel that the series took this concept to ridiculous heights sometimes. I have no problems with Kern making an attempt to create multi-episodes arcs similar to "BUFFY". It would have been better than what Constance Burge did in Season 2 by trying to keep the series stuck in Season 1, when it should have been moving on. The problem is that Kern and his writers did not handle multi-episodes arcs very well.

I agree Maybe it's fault of the misfortunest of the series, started with the risk of closure after the fourth season I'ld like if they had used a structure like that of X files, just a few episodes from the story arc evenly balanced on the plot, a story arc for season |

I love that storyline but maybe with Prue instead of Paige.
There is chemistry between Prue and Cole, I mean it wouldn't be out if the question for Cole to feel attraction towards Prue and visa versa. I would have loved it when Phoebe went back into the past she saw Prue (past life) and Cole married, could really bring a new dynamic.
Maybe the reason why Cole and Phoebe didn't work was because they weren't soulmates but Prue and Cole were.

I oppose Cole returning for S5. He should've stayed dead back in S4, and that was the end of it. S5 just ruined him, and I would've hated him returning back from the dead, regardless if he's with Phoebe, not with Phoebe or otherwise.
