I just thought I'd start a thread for book discussions, reviews and favourite novels. Even a book club if anyone's up for it?
I've just finished Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov, and what a book that was! I'm glad I kept going with it, the subject is quite uncomfortable but the book is memorable and exceptionally well written. Definitely recommend it.

I haven't read a book in too long. Well, I mean I read my text books all the time and they are not so magical, haha.
Last books I read have been "The Hunger Games" and I really want to read the Game of Thrones books.

Books are great to read but at the moment I am really enjoying writing my own. You get to live through your character the life you want. Example I put that I am very wealthy and that I have no brothers and sisters and that I am an only child. I would love those things. I hate coming from a large family. Having brothers and sisters have not benefited me one bit. If someone said to me "We will give you $100 million dollars and you can never see your brothers and sisters again or keep them in your life but don't have the money I would take the money and say dude write the cheque. I could do a lot more with the money like publish my book and turn it into a movie. My brothers and sisters are just a pain in the neck. I don't mind having mum around she is cool and we get on pretty well and dad is just like my brothers and sisters something I would not miss. The people who I value in my life is my dear mum and my friends not my brothers and sisters at all I am reading a book called "The Happiest Refugee by Anh Do who is an Australian Asian comedian he has written many books and he has been on TV he is a very funny guy. He also gives money to lots of charities. The book is about his life and how he's family came to Australia and how he became successful regarding his work. It is a very interesting book and easy to read. I have printed most of my book I still have 2 chapters to print but I ran out of ink so I will get that next payday and print the rest of it out so my dear show Charmed doesn't eat my work. Charmed doesn't like me writing my book but it must be written. Magazines I read are usually take 5 and that's life. Sometimes I read the women's weekly and stuff about the famous folk which I hope to be one with the help of Charmed. .

I've just finished reading Frankenstein, but that was for class. I really enjoyed it, it's a heartbreaking story in many ways... Poor monster... Before that I was reading Vampire Academy, and next I'm reading Clockwork Orange (again for class), and The Maze Runner. After that, I'll be reading Wives and Daughters, by Elizabeth Gaskell.

I've realized that I've never read Frankenstein. Just watched the movies, TV series or parody Gonna find a way to change that. Never even heard of those other books(excpet for Vampire Academy) so I'll definitely be adding them to my books to read list.

I've just finished reading Rebecca, by Daphne du Maurier, and really enjoyed it. I love the writing style, and the author does have a certain knack for suspense. Now I can't wait to see the movie with Joan Fontaine.

Hehe, I just found out that one English book I read is part of 8-part series. Oh boy, am I behind? I need to order the rest for sure. FYI, it's about the Templars and other history cases.

I am a big fan of H. P. Lovecraft. I believe he was one of the greatest writers of the last century. Although virtually unknown is his lifetime (and he was only 46 when he died on cancer in 1937) he has since become beloved by many fans, such as I. Many modern horror authors, such as Stephen King, are fans of Mr. Lovecraft and have paid tribute to him in their own works. Mr. King's recent novel, Revival, is a must have for a Lovecraft fan.
Sci-Fi/Horror author Robert Bloch, when he was young, actually knew Lovecraft. When Bloch wrote the 1967 Star Trek episode, "Catspaw", he made references to the "Old Ones", a nice tip of the hat to Lovecraft's aliens.

A very Happy 125th Birthday to H.P. Lovecraft, the man who inspired the new direction I've taken the Rex and Hannah Chronicles in
