Saw this at another site and found it interesting. See what you think.

I wrote that a while ago. Thinking about it now, I can't help thinking how great of a finale that would've been as compared to seeing Piper and Leo as old with all the grandkids - letting the sisters talk about how much they want to be to pass on their destiny, knowing they can't do it to someone who isn't part of the family and having the Angel of Destiny show up and grant them their wish - let them time travel to the future where their children have taken over and blend into their future bodies - setting up a spin-off, that I must admit, could be starting up just about now.
How 'bout you? What do you think?

Yes I agree with Christy the Charmed Ones had lost their way they had become very selfish and that they were all that I think that they didn't deserve to die for this if they all could just sit down and talk it out it could of been cool but in TV land that would of been really boring to watch so I can see why the writers went the way they did. The Charmed Ones thought that no one couldn't beat them when you get an ego like that you need to be put back in your place. Without the book of shadows they would be toast take that book away from them and they would be like any other witch - they would be nothing. I felt that if you meet them they wouldn't be very nice people to meet I would probably join Christy after meeting them after five minutes. (I liked it when the magical community turned on them that was interesting writing now this is nothing against the actors I like the actors they are sweet. I'm talking about the Charmed Ones.) Example of Charmed Ones not being nice when they met the Avatars Piper was so rude and the other girls were just as unfriendly they didn't say anything but they glared at the Avatars. If I was part of the magical community and I had met the Charmed Ones I wouldn't of been impressed with them at all. I would of just glared back at them and said to the friend who introduced us "and I'm supposed to be impressed by this" pointing to the Charmed Ones. Then just walked away. [/font]

Es, I think that would have made an amazing finale as well. However, I think the Charmed Ones would not have done this because they wouldn't want to lose the time in their life (not sure if this would be selfish or not)..
I definitely agree that it would be good. This is where my post about a ten year jump would be amazing!

I think they just had enough of being Supernatural, of course they cared about Innocents but they wanted a normal life after 8 years of being Charmed. That's why they wanted to train Billie up. I don't think they had an ego.. Few people were stronger than them and that was a fact.

Of course they cared about innocents??? *scratches head* When were they even mentioned in Season Eight? Well, except for the charge who Paige helped and who died so that she could become a whitelighter and save Paige. And Paige wouldn't have cared about her if the ringing in her ear kept bugging her.

If the sisters from season 8 travelled to the future and staid there, there would be no future to travel to since they were never in the present to do those things. i.e. Phoebe's daughters would not exist in that future if Phoebe was never around in the intervening years to have them. In addition to that, their future selves would not be there either. D:

That's much too logical for Charmed - besides, Grams always said that with magic you could do anything, especially when it's the Angel of Destiny who's in charge of it.
Here's more of that conversation from that other site - and with a different suggestion of mine that might make more sense:

Why does everyone always think like that about the ending with them writing in the BoS? I always think that it just switches to voiceover mode about what happens with each sister's life as said sister gets a go at writing in the Book.

Because that...saying what happens in the future when they haven't lived it yet...is exactly what we see.
All they had to do was show all three older ones sitting around the Book of Shadows and writing it out, but since Alyssa & Rose weren't available, this was the best they could do.
But what they could've/should've had happen was to let Old Piper read Piper's entry rather than Holly and you wouldn't be hearing anything like that.
But that's not what happens - it's the three younger versions telling about what's going to happen when it hasn't happened yet.
As usual, a Brad Kern screwup - the "perfect" way to end this series.

no i dont agree with christy saying that being kidnapped and brainwashed messes with your mind and dumain is worse saying wyatt will turn evil because of the sisters when chris already saved him 2 yrs ago CharmedBOSthanh the sisters have been saving innocents for over 8yrs and stopped the source more than once so to say their selfish is very nasty they have put their lives on to save the world and sayong they were rude to the avatars well if some people pop out of nowhere made my partner think he was crazy and then not tell me the truth then i would wonder what they were hiding i cant belive u think the avatars are good people i suppose you think gideon was right too i mean the avatars take away free will and if someone causes hassle the get killed for it and having to kill your love in phoebes case i mean the sister have had to deal with so many deaths im suprised they still wanted to be the charmed ones i mean the sisters lost their mom and their grams then prue lost andy and the elders took leo away from piper then phoebe and piper lost prue and piper almost lost wyatt and chris and piper lost leo again twice more

If the sisters (especially Phoebe and Piper) had cared enough about their Wiccan duties to actually follow through on their whole "training the next generation" thing from the season 7 finale instead of wanting to focus on shopping and lounging even though Paige was still getting charges, Billie would've been an interesting and uniquely skilled witch still, but would not have looked like anything extraordinary in comparison to the freaking Charmed Ones.
If they had cared enough to help Billie look for her sister and make sure all went well there, they would've been able to sense that something was amiss and they would've been able to tell her to be careful, if not arm her with something to take care of the situation just in case the demons had done something to Christy in the FIFTEEN YEARS she spent in captivity.
If they hadn't been so focused on their own issues as to make it seem like anything else was an inconvenience to them even if it was for the greater good, and especially if Piper hadn't been so gung ho about getting the next big super decisive battle over with so Leo could come back from being put on ice to the point of contemplating wanting to kill Billie and Christy the minute she saw a sign that they could be the "ultimate power" before they even did anything bad, Christy's manipulations would've most likely fallen short even with Billie.
And if they had been willing to go find out for themselves who was pulling the strings in Magic School using, say, astral projection, since they apparently can do that now as of the season 7 finale, instead of sending the leprechauns into harm's way instead and then acting like the leprechauns owed them because they're the heroes and couldn't possibly be so upset with them without being twisted by some kind of spell, somebody would've seen through the spell that did corrupt the sisters when demons ravaged through the magical community and the plan to turn them into pariahs would've certainly failed.
Heck, I could argue (and probably just did) that if either the Charmed Ones or the Elders had been paying attention to things beyond whatever foe was directly in their way at the moment, the Jenkins sisters would most likely not be their enemies and would most certainly never have been a match for them. Oh, and this whole fandom meme going on with calling Billie a Mary Sue would've never manifested.
The entire plot of season 8 depended on the Charmed Ones becoming selfish and shirking their duties in order to even work. So yes, Christy was right in a sense. Does that mean she wasn't still working for the villains in the situation? No.

If anyone is evil its christy she tried to kill own sister instead of letting go and going home with billie. And the only reason they could stand up to them is because prue's death weakened the power of three
