Since TWoP is closing and their forums will be deleted at the end of May, I have been archiving the Charmed forums on TWoP for Es and Cyma using archive.org. (Anyone interested can find it here.)
While going through one of the threads in the main forum board I found a link to a picture. The link lead to a page that had been archived over 1,000 times. There was no way I was going through every snapshot of the page (although I probably could have found it if I checked the date of the post), but I noticed that the first snapshot was in 1998. Considering it was the official site for the CW (which didn't exist then) and the date was prior to Charmed's first appearance, I had to check it out. The URL changed from TheCW.com to TheWB.com and it had the main page for The WB back in early 1998. I noticed one link that said "Press Releases". I figured it was a long shot, but why not, so I clicked on the link which lead to a page that had only been archived once (June 28, 1998) with a list of press releases dating from December 11, 1997 to May 18, 1998 (oddly the one below May 18th was May 19th and that's the one that kept my attention, because that's the one I was looking for).
The title of the page was: The WB Sets 1998-99 Schedule With New Night Thursday. I started scanning the short page and smiled as I found the words I was looking for in the second paragraph:
If you are interested in the main page for The WB, here it is.

The network made its most dramatic moves on Wednesday and Thursday nights. "Dawson's Creek," The WB's highest-rated program and considered one of the breakout hits of this past television season, will move to Wednesdays at 8:00 p.m. followed by the new Aaron Spelling drama "Charmed" starring Shannen Doherty, Holly Marie Combs and Lori Rom.Feel free to read the rest of the article, but enjoy this blast from the past or if you are like me, enjoy reading one of (if not the) earliest announcements on the internet for Charmed for the first time.
