I found this at another thread and found it FASCINATING - and also very, very, very tough!  Especially because I edited this message to take out the poster's second choices! 

Borrowing this idea from another board. Create your perfect season by choosing your favorite/the best 1st episode of all eight seasons, favorite/best 2nd episode, 3rd, 4th and so on!

Not surprised at all by the results. Season 2, 3 and 4 dominate as the clear peak of the show. Season 6 and 8 have 0 favorite/best episodes for me, not a shocker either. It would be very interesting to actually watch these episodes in this order. A lot of jumping back and forth between Prue/Paige eras.

Bit confused about this. Even if I decide on favorite episodes....how do I put them all in 22 slots? What would be the order? Season Finale as my best favorite episode?

Let me post mine, Cyma, and I think it will make more sense.

I used the same idea as the OP, which is what this thread is all about, but did it just a bit differently, based on how we did something similar in different forum, listing all of the "candidates" and then bolding my choice. It might make it easier for others, although if they love any episodes from S5-8, they're going to have to do this themselves, because I already have one for each season and when I went through the others, I couldn't find any that for me would beat the one I'd chosen. If they were a different numbered episode for that season, then they might have beaten it, but as is...

Now that is *ES's* Perfect Season - I'm sure it's probably nowhere near to most others, because unlike most others, I don't like Cole because becoming obsessed with him killed my favorite character, Phoebs, and turned her into my least-favorite character, PhoeME. What about you guys?

Nope, you didn't follow the rules at all - you had to choose from the first episode of each season for your first episode; from the second episode of each season for your second episode, etc. Try it that way. It's harder, but interesting. This means that they won't be in the proper order at all - just episode-number-within-seasons.

***A special mention for Soul Survivor (6x07) here - just because I like Paige's subplot, especially since she's the only one trying to save innocents at that point. Oh and for Someone to Witch Over Me (7x07) which I happen to be watching at this exact moment in time.

I'm *so* glad you found this, Astral Vision, and decided to give it a try. It's really a fascinating way of looking at individual episodes as compared to story arcs or seasons. I particularly liked the way you showed the ones that came in close and why. You're making me want to repost mine in this format (I had to do mine the other way in order to show how exactly this works) and include my own "very close seconds" and why.

I'm considering doing a "The Cafe's Perfect Season" based on all of these choices, but first choices only (it would get too complicated if I tried to include the second choices) and also considering starting a "Create Your Own Worst Season" thread, doing the same thing as this but choosing the *worst* of the possible choices. I especially find myself wanting to do that, because then I can include Episode 23 - S6 is the only one with one, and that one - the EPITOME of Poor, Poor Pitiful Piper - is definitely one of my all-time least-favorite episodes. What do you guys think of that idea?

How would you even include a 23rd episode in this? Surely, if you include either season 5 or 6s 23rd episodes in the "Worst Season" version, you'd have to include the other of those two to be a 23rd episode in your best season. Neither choice may be good enough to make a perfect season list, but if you have 23 in one, it seems like you should have 23 in the other. xD

LOL, that's what I'm afraid mine might end up doing, so I might end up doing closer to what BettyNewbie did - show which ones came close to being chosen without saying why.

OOPS!! My bad. A friend from a different site saw this thread and did her own Perfect Season and she said that S5 (which is the one I meant - "Oh, My Goddess!", which, of course is 5x23, not 6x23) was the only season with 23 episodes, which is why she chose it as her Episode 23. OMG, trying to choose between "Oh, My Goddess, Part Two!" or "It's a Bad, Bad, Bad, Bad World" as the worst Episode 22...that might be the toughest choice of all! Maybe I'll just flip a coin...

I especially find myself wanting to do that, because then I can include Episode 23 - S6 is the only one with one, and that one - the EPITOME of Poor, Poor Pitiful Piper - is definitely one of my all-time least-favorite episodes. What do you guys think of that idea?

I could have easily written a reason for every single one, but I managed to stop myself from doing that, or it would have been too long.

I was actually thinking about the "Own Worst Season" thing the other day after I'd done this one. It seems like the next logical step for a thread like this. How would you even include a 23rd episode in this? Surely, if you include either season 5 or 6s 23rd episodes in the "Worst Season" version, you'd have to include the other of those two to be a 23rd episode in your best season. Neither choice may be good enough to make a perfect season list, but if you have 23 in one, it seems like you should have 23 in the other. xD

If I did my own worst season, I'd basically have the entire season 8, so it wouldn't be a point in picking episodes.

In regards to the 23rd episode, you can still basically count the 23rd as part of 22, and just have them as one episode, way easy to resolve the issue. Otherwise we end up with two season finals. I think counting 22 + 23 for season 5 and 6 as one episode is the way to go, given they originally aired as a 2-hour final.
