Every time I watch the last 5 seasons it breaks my heart not to see Prue and I miss her in each and every episode she's not in, thinking of how great she would be. And of course I often find myself thinking that what's happening in the episode I'm watching would turn out differently if Prue was still here to take the lead and protect her sisters as she always did.
The first thing that I think would never have happened if Prue was still here is Cole turning Phoebe evil and making her the queen of the underwolrd. Paige knew something wasn't right, but when she kept telling her sisters, they wouldn't believe her because she was the new sister, they weren't as close as they were with Prue (and I think they never were later either, when we see Piper in the ep 5x12 Centenniel, saying to Paige "We must be very close... Like we were with Prue" I laughed! Especially hearing that coming from Piper's mouth, and even more after spending a year and a half shattered by her sister's death in that world), and she was also the youngest one, less impact than Prue had on her sisters. If it was Prue, just like she always saw these kind of things, with Cole or Aviva in the first season or Clay in the first season two, Cole would have been much more busted than with Paige, and when she would say that to her sisters, they would never react the way they did with Paige, leaving her alone at the end of the ep 4x16. Especially Piper. She would have believed in her, and eventually convince Phoebe if needed. Prue was the one in charge, the strongest and the one with the more influence on her sisters so Cole would have been in seeerious trouble very quickly, and she would never let the situation go that far, with Phoebe ending up evil, married to the Source. Don't you agree?
& what else do you think would have been handled much more better if Prue never died?

If Prue never died, I would have watched Charmed until the very end. Period. What could have beens really hurt. Shannen is a great actress. Too bad for the negative publicity on her. That's pretty much normal. The show continued and they don't want any negative publicity on them. The one who left the ship should be the easy target. I'm just glad Shannen wasn't really loud about her getting ousted. Of course she said some things, but at least she wasn't spreading rumors out there for people to speculate. She has been quiet for the most part that's why there never has been released as to why she left the show. I love her no matter what. There's always two sides in a story.

The show just wasn't as good without Prue.

If Prue had been alive, she'ld never encouraged Phobe to marry Cole
Not only because she was always wary of him but because she'ld suss how much Phoebe was uncertain and you have to be sure about a man if you want to marry him
Phoebe'ld listen her advice, after all I always had the impression that she expected a Piper negative judgment to feel encouraged to say no

Getting some good go/no-go advice. Especially since Prue broke up an engagement in the past and understands that you can say no. That if something is off, don't do it. Prue dabbled in empathy and her big sis hat would make a great conversation between Prue/Phoebe. A lot of "trust your instincts" talk and feelings.

Yes, EatenDoll I totally agree. In fact I agree with everyone here. The only reason I stayed with the show was because I kept hoping Prue would return. I didn't like the direction the show took after her departure. Piper was never suited to be the oldest, she was the go-between, the peace maker. Phoebe, and I wouldn't have wanted any other actress to play the part, was a bit of a brat. That's okay as she was the (baby), but she needed Prue more than she might ever be willing to admit.
If Prue had lived, well everything would be different. To make a cookie interesting you need a lot of different ingredients. When I make my chocolate chips I add nuts and raisins. Prue was smart, strong and savvy. Piper was responsible, patient and generally wise. Phoebe was curious, head-strong and young enough to take a risk that just might not work. I think the three of them creater a wonderful balance.
