You know, oddly enough, I'd never really considered a S4 premiere which saw Prue being healed promptly - but rather some big plot which involved bringing her back somehow. It WOULD make more sense for Leo to just heal both sisters straight into S4, with the rest of the premiere revolving around their trying to save Phole from the Underworld. Had a chance to think about this and I realize that in order to make the start of the Season Four premiere different than the beginning of "All Hell Breaks Loose" your way of thinking it actually now makes more sense to me. I also decided to change it a bit to make it more like how I feel it should've been done, even if it was Paige in this rather than Prue. I bolded my changes like you colored yours. So here we go again - another possible way of looking at Season Four Without Paige: 4x01: Charmed...Again: (Leo and Phoebe return soon enough to revive Piper, but Prue has been seriously injured and is in a deep coma, one that Leo can't bring her out of. Piper and Phoebe go through mourning for their sister although Piper is infuriated with Phoebe for causing Prue to be in this position. Piper casts her blood-to-blood spell and it succeeds in bringing Prue back. When Shax returns, it’s even harder for the sisters to vanquish him since both Piper and Prue go through PTSD. Although Phoebe feels guilty, she’s more interested in Cole, her now-human-boyfriend. Cole is also very happy to just be a lawyer.)
4x02: Mother Dearest: (Phoebe and Cole continue to enjoy Cole's life as a non-demon. Elizabeth Turner shows up, disgusted with her son for preferring his father’s side rather than his mother's. Prue kills Elizabeth, turning Cole against her – after all, this was his mother.) 4x03: Brain Drain: (With Shax's failure, the Source tries to get rid of the Charmed Ones' this way and Piper's PTSD makes the whole thing even more terrifying. It's Phoebe who talks both Prue and Piper into keeping their powers) 4x04: Black as Cole 4x05: Muse to My Ears (using Prue's photography rather than Paige's art) 4x06: Trial by Magic 4x07 Lost and Bound 4x08: Charmed and Dangerous (Since the powers of the Source have nowhere to go back, they go into the nearest non-magical - Cole. Cole is not possessed - only affected by these powers)4x09: The Three Faces of Phoebe 4x10: Marry-Go-Round (It’s Prue who Phoebe thinks is trying to ruin her wedding… In the meantime, the Seer switches a glass of her potion of pure evil for the champagne in Phoebe and Cole's glass This turns Phoebe evil while also letting Cole no longer resists the powers of the Source)4x11: The Fifth Halliwheel (Prue the fifth wheel…and the chocolate only makes Piper horny…) 4x12: Saving Private Leo 4x13: Bite Me (Featuring Prue as the vampire victim to increase her suspicions of/tension towards Cole...and Phoebe) 4x14: We're Off to See the Wizard 4x15: Long Live the Queen (Phoebe has to choose between being with her sisters or with Cole, not knowing that it's her continuing to drink the Seer's potion that is affecting her choices)4x16 to 4x18: New episodes showing Cole and Phoebe as the leaders of the Underworld and Phoebe becoming pregnant while Prue and Piper try to survive as a power of two 4x19: Hell Hath No Fury: (Prue is resistant to fight Phoebe now that she is Queen, leaving Piper to deal with the emotional and practical reality of their situation. Fury-Piper and Queen Phoebe have an extended confrontation at the end of the episode, which is the catalyst for Phoebe's doubts.) 4x20: Sympathy for the Demon (As Phoebe realizes that it's the Seer's potion that is making her and her child evil, she also thinks that it's what's making Cole evil. But Cole is enjoying being evil too much since that is who he truly has been - the potion has helped him embrace his true evil self and he refuses to quit drinking, while wanting her to continue to drink it. They have a bit of a magical confrontation, before Cole 'escapes' the Power of Three. He retreats to the underworld and begs the Seer for help. Recognizing that Cole will never be able to be the Source without Phoebe's love and support, she gives him the idea to use the Source's powers to alter reality so that Prue really did die at the hands of Shax and Piper wasn't able to bring her back. Of course Cole would blame Prue for being the major obstacle in his relationship with Phoebe, so he agrees. The rest of the episode would be similar to the S5 Centennial Charmed, except that what happens in the alternate episode also affects what happens in the "real one" so that when Cole is vanquished by the alternate Charmed Ones, he's actually being vanquished by the real ones. Phoebe is still devastated by what she did and is comforted by Prue and Piper, one of the most touching scenes of the entire series) 4x21: Womb Raider (No sign of Cole during this one) 4x22: Witch Way Now? (No sign of Cole during this one. After everything that has happened, even Phoebe agrees that the sisters should give up their powers. Fastforward to the attic door opening and a dark-haired young man walking in to see the trunk open...End of Season; End of Series.) Whatcha think?

Es, unless you're missing out a power-stripping/Belthazor vanquish detail for your version of that premiere episode, Cole being human at that point isn't possible, especially if you're suggesting having Black as Cole later on in your version of season four with Prue.

I have a theory that if Prue had lived, she could have possibly figured out how Cole became the Source in the first place; instead of jumping to conclusions like Piper and Paige did.
Cole was never fully human. He was born as a human/demon hybrid. And no power stripping potion could change his DNA. All that potion did was take away his powers, including his ability to transform into demonic form.

I know, Ljones. I'm just trying to understand how his powers have already been stripped between the season 3 finale and alternate season 4 premiere.

Fastforward to the attic door opening and a dark-haired young man walking in to see the trunk open...End of Season; End of Series.) Whatcha think? I enjoyed BOTH ways you did it, Es. Great job! I just have one little niggle. I think I'd keep 'Mother Dearest' until after 'Black as Cole' because I think it would be more effective for Cole to have lost his powers when he is reunited with his mother, as her 'shame' would be greater. Also, it is important for me for Cole to be 'powerless' to stop Prue from killing her. But that's just my personal preference. I am struggling a little with the Sympathy for the Demon/Centennial Charmed plot. Only because I didn't really like the idea of *our* reality continuing on whilst Paige was in the *altered* reality. It gives the impression that Cole just created a different world/realm, when he was supposed to have altered his own reality completely. Am I right in thinking you've tried to address this when you mention Cole getting killed simultaneously in both worlds? Because if so, I definitely agree. In fact, I would've kept it as *one world* but the only problem is that if Cole assumes the identity of Belthazor, that would mean they would be resurrecting the half-faced Source. Unless, we their was a bit of plot which explained how Cole, as Belthazor, was chosen to inherit the Source's throne after Half-Face was killed by someone else. Thus, the episode would be post-Prue's and Half-Face's deaths, but pre-coronation. I also thought if this was the case, we could add in that the Seer deliberately convinced Cole-Source to alter reality, knowing that he would revert back to Belthazor, and she could take the Source's throne for herself, like in Womb Raider. Or otherwise, we can just keep to the *two realities, one outcome* scenario like you said. I had an idea of Tempus being in 'Charmed, Again' if the plot was going to be about reviving Prue, but I'm not sure how it would work exactly. I thought Tempus would agree to help (again!), they would get Prue back, but the Source would find Tempus and kill him. Yeah, I can see how many 'Flashback' episode would be a bit filler-ish. I just really liked 'A Paige from the Past' and wanted to keep it in some form, plus I liked the continuity of Prue's teen years. But it could easily be taken out/be a S3 episode.

I've mentioned just previously that we could just have 'Black as Cole' come before 'Mother Dearest', possibly after 'Charmed, Again' and 'Brain Drain'. Perhaps CA and BD could be a two-part premiere in some way?

Also, it is important for me for Cole to be 'powerless' to stop Prue from killing her. But that's just my personal preference. LOL, and of course while you were writing this, I was having others point out why putting it later makes more sense. You have me totally completely confused by this. As far as I'm concerned, Cole *is* Belthazor. Always has been, always will be, even if he's human - he's been Belthazor too long to not be. So he never assumes or doesn't assume the identity of Belthazor - only his powers, which he doesn't have to take in once he has the Source's powers, especially when in my version, I make him similar to an alchoholic where the Seer's potion is making it easier for him to remain evil (not be Belthazor, but be Cole) and he very simply does not want to give up the potion or give up the powers - that's more important to him than Phoebe, the reason why he has to be vanquished. That's not exactly the way the series is set up but makes more sense to me, since what they did in Season Four made none. Of course nothing says that we have to both have the same "reality". I just prefer Cole being vanquished by the real Charmed Ones, not an alternate set, which is why I originally set it up so that he wouldn't be vanquished during the "Centennial Charmed" episode but instead have the much more beautiful "Long Live the Queen" vanquish. For me, the Tempus plot is way overused as is - much too much "oh, something's screwed up so all we have to do is turn back time", and I see no reason why Tempus would want to turn back time. Besides, I love Piper's use of the spell to try to bring back her sister and would prefer it brings back her real sister and not someone who she's never heard of. But again, if you want to use it in your own version, go for it. Ah, I didn't see the similarity in that and "A Paige from the Past". I also like that episode, but liking an episode has absolutely nothing to do with whether it's here or not - in fact, the only episodes I do like in Season Four are "Charmed Again, Part One" and the episodes about Paige that we didn't keep. The Cole-the-Source/Phoebe-the-Queen storyline is my least-favorite one in Charmed, even over Chris' and Billie's because it turned my favorite character, Phoebs, into my least-favorite character, PhoeME. I'm just keeping the ones that fit the narrative that I believe could've been included had Shannen Doherty not been fired, and I think "A Paige From the Past" only popped up when they came up with the name Paige - had Paige not been part of the series, I don't think such an episode ever would've existed. That's also true for "Hell Hath No Fury", but then I love how you made that fit the narrative, while "Flashback" is too tangential, even if I would've much preferred an episode like that to anything in the second half of Season Four.

And it would be a two-part season premiere, not a season finale. Funny, I always liked the idea of Charmed Again being a two-parter because the change from Prue to Paige was so important, but if Prue survives I really don't think it's necessary. Keep in mind that I haven't watched Season Four in I'm not sure how long (and have no plans to waste my time doing so, just like I don't have any plans for watching S5-8) so my memory for those should always be questionable and I'll always admit my bad when it comes to remembering what happened in them. If you think it would fit better just by putting "Mother Dearest" after "Black as Cole", that should work. You know the episodes better than I do (I hope...) - would it work for "Black as Cole" to be the second episode? That with "Charmed...Again" might make for an interesting season premiere (more what I was thinking Charmed and Dangerous was like - very obviously I was wrong about that being a season premiere) I just remember all the funny episodes of Cole as a human with Phoebe...

Great ideas Deano and Es. Although, my idea of a 'Dream Charmed' or alternate Season Four would change dramatically depending on whether I had to include Paige or Prue. I stand by the fact that if Paige was introduced as normal, Charmed and Dangerous would stand as my finale - a sign of closure with Prue, Paige's acceptance and Paige's quick grasp of becoming a witch.
I'm always torn with the idea of Prue living, plainly because Paige and Prue are my two favourite sisters and I want both of them to exist in the series. I think my Season Four with Prue would be very different, and maybe Charmed and Dangerous would occur midway through the season? I'm not sure, it would feel right as their connection as the Power of Three would have been longer established and after surviving and defeating Shax the time would seem right.

And I stand by the fact that Charmed and Dangerous (Episode 4x13) makes no sense as a season finale. I've admitted that it as a season premiere makes no sense; it's time to admit that where it is - the end of the first half, before the first "rerun period" that The WB shows always do - does make perfect sense. But if that's the season finale it means you need 12 more episodes before Cole takes in the powers of the Source. So what would you have happen during that time period?

Thanks Alex, I'm glad you like them. I would be great to hear some of your ideas in more detail as well. I agree with you - it is extremely difficult to envisage Charmed without Prue or Paige, as I love them both. Which is why in my Dream Series, there would be 2 more seasons after S4, during which Paige would be introduced to take the place of Billie, but she would be a distant cousin (granddaughter of Grams' estranged brother) which would make the 'Ultimate Battle' more poignant, as it would be a family war. Either that or she would just be introduced as an ally, and not to play Billie's role. I can't make my mind up... I'm a bit on the fence here because I, too, like the idea of having C&D as a finale, but see Es' point that it would be difficult to fill up a 21 episode build up before hand. Initially this is where my ideas for Prue to have PTSD came from, and we would see a real divide between the sisters, but this would be tricky indeed, and probably mean us filling up S4 with Cole-centric episodes. It would work better with Paige, as you could give her more 'introduction' episodes, but I'm starting to much prefer Es' idea of it being a quarter/midway through ep.

Having it as the halfway point is not *my* idea - it was Kern's - and for once I think he was right.

Either that or she would just be introduced as an ally, and not as play Billie's role. I can't make me mind up... That's funny since in my rewrite of "Forever Charmed" I have Billie and Christy as their half-cousin - that their mother is Patty's half-sister, a product of Grams' third marriage and someone Grams forgot as much as she forgot her brother for the same reason - they're non-magical. And I recently read a fic based on mine, but like this having Billie and Christy be Gordon II's granddaughters, so the sisters' second cousin. I've read a different plotline where Billie shows up in the sixth season - and ends up being a glamoured Prue while Chris shows up in the last season, making it easier to accept Billie. (Yes, Astral Echo, that's your idea - I still love it!) Putting Paige in any of those spots during Season Five with keeping Prue alive would be a great storyline - it would be too much having it part of Season Three if Prue is still alive and you're still using the Queen Phoebe idea.

It's still an issue regardless of whether he is Belthazor-with-powers or Belthazor-without-powers. If he altered time to ensure Prue died at Shax's hand, their would be no PO3 to kill Half-Face and he would still be the Source. So, it's a problem because Cole would be demoting himself down from 'The Source' back to 'Belthazor-with-powers' and thus, ressurecting Half-Face. I don't know how to get around NOT bringing back Half-Face, as that would undermine the Phole arc. My two suggestions are: 1). Cole doesn't unitentionally demote himself and downgrade to Belthazor. Instead, he stays the Source in the altered reality, simply because he is the Source and has the power to do so. 2). He does become Belthazor again and is Half-Face's earthly representative. Being killed in the altered reality reverses his spell/magic and puts everything back to "normal" including Half-Face being dead and Prue being alive. I completely agree and therein lies another problem. I'd also much prefer a LLTQ vanquish, but then what would be the point in having the CC episode? Perhaps Cole escapes the PO3 in the CC reality by switching everything back, but then faces off against the "real" COs in the "real world" (Long Live the Queen). I thought of Tempus agreeing to reverse time for Piper and Phoebe because he has been exiled/mistreated (forced to rewind time and be weakened) by Half-Face and wants him dead. I imagine him agreeing if the COs promise to magically cloak him from The Source, and also grant immunity to the PO3. I also thought Tempus and The Seer to be old friends who would be planning this in the hope that both that the COs would kill Half-Face, and then they would kill the COs - which would remain ambiguous at first, but would be realised as The Seer's master plan to rule the UW herself in Womb Raider ('This was always my plan'). I can see that, and I'm with you. Perhaps you'd have enjoyed it more if Shannen stayed and the season did indeed play out this way, as Prue's heroism may have compensated for Phoebe's selfishness. "Flashback" may have been more appropriate in S3, especially around the time that Prue was becoming fed up with not finding love. I also liked "Size Matters" but really do agree that it wouldn't fit into S4 without Paige. In fact, if I did include Paige into S5, I'd probably just 'transfer' the Paige-centric episodes to that season, perhaps including "Bite Me", but I think Prue would be good in that role too.

LOL, you love your two-parters so much and I simply don't, unless they're necessary. LOL! I suppose I do. Yeah, I meant 'premiere' but wrote 'finale' for some reason. 'Charmed, Again' with Prue surviving really wouldn't need to be a two-parter, but if we incorporated the 'Brain Drain' plot into it, I wonder if one episode would be too short. I think putting MD after BAC would be all it takes, really. So, yes BAC would work perfectly well as the second or third episode (depending on where we put Brain Drain), followed by MTME and L&B as those funny, human-Cole episodes and then MD, which could come just before C&D.

Alternate season 4
Eh, I can't say I'd agree with this chopping and changing around too much. I have two very different ideas of what Season Four would be like, but if we are being REALISTIC and assuming that Shannen leaves and therefore the Season Four opener must include Paige - then it would go somewhat, like this:
4.01-02: Charmed Again
A brilliant opener, Paige's introduction seemed real, authentic and not too far-fetched. The only differences I'd want to change is that Piper never received her exploding power in 'Exit Strategy', so in terms of active powers - the sisters are at their weakest. Also, after some thought, the end of Charmed Again Part 1 wouldn't see the girls vanquish Shax but instead would show the girls ATTEMPT to reconstitute the Charmed Ones thinking that just by the three of them being there it would be enough, however, Shax attacks and Piper and Phoebe get Paige to chant the spell, banishing Shax once again, with the girls confused over whether it was a vanquish or not. Part two would follow, with the Source attacking - once Paige chooses good and her sisters, the Source attempts to kill her, and instinctively Piper stands in front of Paige and the Source freezes - without Piper motioning with her hands. He begins to adjust, but Leo remarks that it takes great power for the Source to freeze and as he attempts to attack, the chandelier shines over the girls - indicating the Power of Three has been reconstituted. The chandelier protects them and the Source flees. A scene after the Paige meeting Patty scene will show the three of them in the attic telling Paige about her power, and Paige finally manages to orb something to herself.
4.03: The Other Side of Sanity (new episode)
I feel a few new episodes are needed to prolong Paige's introduction, this episode would see Cole captured by bounty hunters - hoping to lure a weakened Piper and Phoebe to their deaths, in the attempt to destroy the Charmed Ones once and for all. The news of their reconstitution is spreading the Underworld, and Leo informs Piper that they ought to help train Paige with her powers as the likelihood of a demonic attack is high, and Shax is still out there. This episode if anything shows Piper and Phoebe attempt to ignore the threats, even when faced with a random demon attack, it is Leo that stabs the demon as Piper and Phoebe make a feeble attempt to fight. Paige visits the house and informs Leo that her new TK orbing power is erratic and she is terrified of exposing the secret. Phoebe is friendly toward Paige, but Piper is distant and cold. Leo reminds her that her shielding Paige from the Source was a sign of their sisterhood, but Piper simply puts this down to her own stupid gun-ho attitude (like Prue's). After Cole is kidnapped, Phoebe springs into action and they discover the demon who is hoping to use him as a bargaining tool - and realise that he requires a Power of Three spell, Paige agrees to accompany Phoebe but Piper refuses, even for Cole (much like how Piper acts during 'A Witch's Tail') and Piper doesn't orb down with them. Realising she is suffering from a form of PTSD, she casts a fearless spell. Meanwhile, Paige attempts to use her power to assist Phoebe as she battles to save Cole, only to realise that she is more of a hindrance than a help, when calling for a rock, she directs it towards Phoebe. After a shoddy battle, Phoebe, Paige and Leo manage to orb Cole out of the Underworld and home - only for Phoebe to round on Piper. Piper and Phoebe's argument makes Paige feel uncomfortable, as the pair let out their anger at each other for not being supportive enough like Prue would've been. The episode would then see the demon who took Cole attack at the Manor, rendering Phoebe and Paige unconscious with Piper facing him alone. He won't freeze, but Piper says the Power of Three spell whilst holding Phoebe and Paige's hand, the demon is vanquished and Piper realises that their bond must be deeper than she thinks.
4.04: Hell Hath No Fury
This episode pretty much plays out the same way, Piper is out battling demons and has taken a U-turn in her feelings, Paige is messing around with the Book of Shadows and it's left for Phoebe to clear up her mess. Once Piper is turned into a fury she attempts to attack both Phoebe and Paige, and whilst Phoebe is the one holding everything together - there is a scene where she breaks down to Cole about how she is not only angry with Prue, but at Piper - and that she needs to tell her how to be the middle sister. Leo still orbs Piper and Paige to the mausoleum, but Phoebe is orbed there too and as Piper berates Prue for leaving them, Phoebe shakes Piper telling her that she can't get through this if she continues to hide her feelings. Piper and Phoebe break down together and are seen sobbing as Leo and Paige look on. The scene where Piper brings Paige cakes at work is still there, it's one of my favourite S4 scenes - and Piper also tells Paige that her witch training starts next week, and says that if she wants to be in the sisterhood, she has to help protect Piper and Phoebe as well.
4.05: Enter the Demon
Again similar, although in order to help locate the warrior/demon (forgotten his name) - Piper asks Phoebe to try and get a premonition, to which Phoebe acts shiftily.
4.06: Premonition: Impossible (new episode)
This episode sees Phoebe confide in Cole that ever since the premonition at Prue's funeral, she feels disempowered and says she hasn't managed to get a premonition in weeks. She hides this fact from her sisters, meanwhile Piper and Leo are at the solicitors, it is Prue's will reading. Following this, they hear a child's screams down an alleyway and see a young girl being chased by a demon. Piper freezes him and they take the girl to safety at the Manor. Paige suggests they take her to Social Services, but Piper is intrigued as to why the demon was chasing her. She tells them that she has no family, and lives in a foster home. Paige returns the girl, but whilst driving - the girl attacks her using demonic powers and takes her down to the Underworld. Piper, Phoebe, Leo and Cole remain oblivious - but Cole warns the girls that Shax is recruiting the help of bounty hunters in order to attempt to divide the girls, in order to kill them all once and for all. Meanwhile, the girl reveals herself to be a shapeshifter demon and Paige is trapped in an Underworld lair - with the demon expressing his delight that the Source and Shax will be thankful that he captured Paige. Paige attempts to orb out, but only manages to orb on the spot - she is unable to use her powers properly yet. Unaware of Paige's predicament, Piper sees that P3 is failing and confesses to Leo that she wants to sell. They later realise Paige is missing when work calls, and Cole suggests that Shax may have her. Terrified, Piper calls on Phoebe to try and get a premonition of her whereabouts - to which Phoebe confesses that she feels like she has lost her gift since Prue died. In a last ditch effort, Leo, Cole, Piper and Phoebe orb down to the Underworld and Leo tries to sense Paige but to no avail. Paige in fact manages to break free of her cage by orbing out of it, and distracts Shax by orbing a boulder towards him. Running through the Underworld, she screams for her sisters and they find her - orbing back to the Manor, with Shax following them. He blasts Cole into the staircase and blasts Leo through the wall he blasted Prue - Piper then receives flashes of Prue's death and temporarily freezes. It's only when Paige pleads with her to say the spell that the three of them manage to vanquish Shax once and for all. Phoebe later admits that she has become disillusoined with her powers, and Piper acknowledges that they have a duty to teach Paige about her powers, after she had to rely on herself against Shax.
4.07: The Eyes Have It
This episode is extremely similar to the Season Five one, Phoebe needs clarity with her powers, Paige begins her intense witch training with Cole, Piper and Leo. She admires Cole's love for Phoebe, and jokingly suggests that he propose to her - to which Cole ponders. Leo attempts to change Piper's mind about P3, but she says that her heart is set on selling - as without Prue it does not feel right. They also meet Ava, and keep in contact.
4.08: Size Matters
Again, much the same but in this episode - Cole proposes to Phoebe, who initially rejects him saying that it feels too soon after Prue. Piper shows some interested buyers around P3, but Paige arrives and discovers her plans to sell. There is tension between Paige and Piper as Paige feels unaccepted by her, following their capture and escape from Gammil, Piper reverses her decision and tells Paige that it will be a long journey, but she has accepted her as part of the Power of Three, and as a sister.
4.09: Saving Private Leo
This episode again follows the same format, and with Paige having to sense Leo - Piper begins to feel the least powerful of the three sisters, especially after dying. The sisters also discuss the problems of Paige living in her condo, but Paige refuses to move in - she enjoys her own space and tells them that she wouldn't know how to live with siblings. Phoebe is eager for her to move in in a practical sense but Cole reminds her that Prue's room is still a shrine to her. Cole attempts to help the sisters by boxing up some of Prue's things, to which Piper reprimands. Phoebe is seen having a cry in Prue's room at the end of the episode, and finds Prue's journal where she jotted down her photography ideas, interestingly she finds one of her and Cole (the one seen prominently throughout S5) and sees that she was working on a project about love. Touched, Phoebe begins to think again about Cole's proposal.
4.10: The Fifth Halliwheel
This episode contains elements of Black as Cole, where Paige discovers that Belthazar is in fact Cole - she begins to distrust him. Piper and Phoebe meet Karen, and end up at the Bay Mirror - where Phoebe writes her column. The power broker is not sent by Cole but comes off his own accord, and Karen's power is in fact 'Molecular Combustion' or Piper's exploding power and in order to save Karen, Leo suggests that a magical being take on the power as no power broker will return it - Piper then volunteers, saying she is mentally and emotionally strong enough now to do so, and therefore we have a more feasible way of how Piper inherits this power, considering she can stop time. Phoebe also acquires her job at the Bay Mirror.
4.11: A Paige from the Past
Same episode pretty much, Phoebe and Cole are possessed by the ghosts, and at the end of the episode - Phoebe accepts Cole's proposal. Piper struggles to control her exploding power, and confides in Leo that she still doesn't feel like a strong enough leader to help coach Paige through witchcraft.
4.12: Muse To My Ears
I really like this episode so wouldn't want to change much, also Paige is seen to really take the lead in this episode and surprises Piper and Phoebe with her knowledge of witchcraft. She also is shown attempting to orb to different locations, although she fails. Paige's suspicions about Cole are also reignited, when she hears him supposingly talking to himself - although Cole feigns innocence, Paige keeps an eye on him.
4.13: Brain Drain
Piper is struggling to control her exploding power and feels inadequate. Prue's room has all been packed up, and Cole asks Leo for advice on his impending marriage to Phoebe, but Leo responds that he feels his marriage to Piper is straining. We see in this episode that Cole appears to be talking to himself and after they save Piper from the Source, Cole retires to his and Phoebe's room, and we see him turn into Belthazar briefly. Piper's experience at the hands of the Source leads her to invite Paige over for dinner, and whilst there she thanks her for helping her through her grief over Prue and asks her to move in, which Paige accepts, saying that she finally feels that she is a sister, and not just a Charmed One.
4.14: A Knight To Remember
This episode plays out similarly, but the subplot of Piper and Phoebe wanting Paige to move in is replaced with Phoebe planning her wedding to Cole, and the audience still unsure over Cole's seeming descent into madness as he battles to suppress Belthazar.
4.15: Black as Cole
This episode is similar to the original, although Cole becomes noticeably unable to control his demonic side, and with the appearance of Sykes Cole is turned. The sisters struggle to defend themselves against him, and Paige suggests that they may have to vanquish him - but Phoebe refuses, and instead they reside to the fact that Cole will have to become human. They vanquish Belthazar, and in the end scenes Cole confesses to Phoebe that he doesn't know how he feels about losing his powers and his demonic side, but assures Phoebe that he wants to marry her and that the wedding is what they should look forward to. Leo confronts Piper about the state of their marriage, and accuses her of being distant and Piper confesses that he is in turmoil over wanting children, but doesn't feel that she could be a mother after failing to protect Prue.
4.16: Marry-Go-Round
This episode takes the same form, apart from Cole is not the Source and the wedding is non-magical with no demons trying to spoil it. Phoebe and Cole marry in the big ceremony as planned but at the quiet reception at the Manor there is an attack by the Source, Phoebe is seriously injured and Piper finally manages to alternate between her freezing and exploding powers in order to protect her sisters. The Source is held off by the girls, but tells them that their time is nearly over, and Phoebe receives a premonition of them confronting the Source in the attack, resulting in an explosion that ends ambiguously. The girls accept that they need to get the Source before he gets them.
4.17: Lost and Bound
Follows a similar pattern again, I really like this episode and this is the beginning of Piper and Leo agreeing to try for children. Paige finally learns to orb to different locations in this episode, after Daryl is attacked by Tyler's 'parents' - she manages to orb him from the scene to Leo for healing - unaware that this act will have later consequences.
4.18: Trial By Magic
I liked this episode, and I wouldn't change much except for the fact that in rescuing Glen, Piper and Paige are unaware of the magical trail they are leaving, especially with Piper and Paige only recently having grasp of their powers. Saving the accused murderer, Phoebe tells Cole she finally feels embraced with her powers once more - bitterly reminding Cole that he is defenseless for when they go up against the Source, and persuades Phoebe to begin work on the Source vanquishing spell. Paige bids a goodbye to Glen, but he tells her that her secret is safe and they depart on romantic terms (I'd like to have brought Glen back for a relationship in Season Five).
4.19: Bite Me
This episode would be similar, Paige is still the one turned into a vampire and the episode really pulls together the plot strands of the series. The Source is looming over the Charmed Ones as Phoebe completes a draft vanquishing spell, Cole asks Daryl for help and attempts to become a police officer, and even contemplates dealing with the power brokes seen in 'The Fifth Halliwheel' in search for more power, Piper admits to Phoebe that she and Leo are struggling to conceive and by saving Paige - the three girls share their first sisterly moment as they comfort a distraught Piper as she breaks down over her fertility issues.
4.20: Enemies of the Stake (new episode)
This episode sees the girls exposed after video evidence captures Paige and Piper using their powers seen as in Trial by Magic, and Lost and Bound and Daryl struggles to protect the girls. It follows a similar plotline to Witch Way Now, with Agent Jackman threatening them with exposure unless they steal Selena. However, after Piper, Phoebe and Paige discover Jackman's intentions they save Selena. Jackman hands the files to the press, and media exposure arises. Piper relapses with her PTSD, due to it being nearly a year to the day since Prue's death and it takes Phoebe and Paige to attempt to sort the mess out. The Source sees this as a perfect time to strike. Daryl comes to the Manor and informs the girls that they are wanted for questioning, and he has a warrant for their arrest. Caught off guard, the Source arrives and in a struggle - Daryl is killed. In shock, Piper and Phoebe are left stunnned whilst Paige attempts to use the Soruce vanquishing spell, which has a minute effect. The Source then attempts to steal the Book of Shadows whilst the girls, Leo and Cole panic over Daryl. But the Book protects itself, and decides to bide his time as the mortal world close in. With Daryl dead and the sound of commotion in the house, the police arrest Piper, Phoebe and Paige on suspicion of murdering Daryl. Whilst in custody, Leo desperately attempts to ask the Elders for help and Cole tries to find a way to infiltrate the police station in order to eliminate Jackman - The Elders send down the Cleaners, but when Leo tells Piper the plan, she berates them for not sending the Cleaners when Prue died, and they inform her that it was in their destiny for Prue to die in order to meet Paige. Piper is stuck in a moral quandry as Leo reveals that the Cleaners can bring Daryl back to life, but insist they can do nothing about Prue. As the Cleaners are fixing the mess, The Source attempts to attack once more - but with the Cleaners present, his attacks are thwarted and he realises that he needs the powers of the Charmed Ones.
4.21: Charmed and Dangerous (Part 1)
This encompasses the main body of the real Charmed and Dangerous, with the Source stealing the girls powers. Phoebe is reminded of a premontion she had previously of the Source's deathly vanquish. The episode forms the first part of a two-parter mainly to a few added subplots. Paige is up for promotion as a social worker, but with the Source waiting in the wings she neglects the case. Cole and Phoebe's marriage is still strained by Cole's lack of power, and he fondly looks back on his time as Belthazar, conflicted by his feelings. Piper attempts to to confide in Leo about something, but the attack of the Darklighter puts her off. The episode ends on a cliffhanger after The Source manages to steal Phoebe's power (the last to obtain) as he considers it the most valuable - and with it, he forsees the CO's method of his vanquish. With Leo dying, the girls powerless the Source then receives another premonition that worries him - and he proceeds to the attack the girls. They manage to trap him in the crystal cage, and say the spell - just before his vanquish is complete The Source orbs the crystal away, breaking the cage and meaning that the explosion is no longer contained. The attic explodes - sending the girls crashing through the floor. Paige lands in the conservatory, unconscious among the broken furniture and glass, Piper is found in the rubble of the kitchen, and Phoebe is blasted down the stairs. With all three girls seemingly dead, the episode ends.
4.22: Charmed and Dangerous (Part 2)
Picks up with Leo, dying from the Darklighter's arrow brushing rubble from the collapse of the attic off of him. Cole comes through the front doors, and there are scenes of the Hollow flying around the Manor following the Source's vanquish, unseen to the audience it inhabits Cole. The Seer arrives to Cole's surprise, and tells him that the Hollow needs to be contained - Cole finds Phoebe upstairs, and manages to wake her - she is severely hurt but says the spell with The Seer and the Hollow is returned. Phoebe manages to find Piper and Paige, Paige awakens but Piper is out cold - Paige heals Leo with his help and Leo manages to heal the girls. They survey the wreck of the attic, and Piper feels as though it symbolises the end of their Charmed destiny. The following day, Paige discovers a positive pregnancy test in the bathroom - and thinking back to Piper's news she needed to tell Leo, assumes that Piper is pregnant. Overjoyed, she congratulates Piper - leaving her confused, Paige asks her about the pregnancy test, and Piper reveals that the news she had to tell Leo is that she has a damaged womb, and their chances of conceiving are slim. Upstairs, a shifty Phoebe talks to Cole about their new life together as man and wife, and talks to him about his views on a family. The pair embrace, with Phoebe not telling him it is her that she is pregnant, and the audience see Cole's eyes flash - signifying that he is the new Source.
Now, that isn't exactly how my Season Four would be ideally. Admitedly it's just my attempt to show how I think C&D could serve as a finale, but whatever. Open to criticism if others wish!

As always when you write a lot and put it all in one paragraph, this is very hard to read and I gave up before I finished your season premiere.
I'll comment after I have time to read the whole thing but it might take a while...
