Now, that isn't exactly how my Season Four would be ideally. Admitedly it's just my attempt to show how I think C&D could serve as a finale, but whatever. Open to criticism if others wish! I loved that you made Piper’s PTSD and the fearless spell as a part of S4. It was fun seeing Piper use the spell to take away her fears in S5, but how you incorporated in S4 is much better. Also using power broker to give Piper's new explosion power…very nice! Others things I liked is that you kept the focused on the sisterhood aspect throughout, Phoebe being more influenced by Prue's death, Paige's moving in also prolonged a bit. Piper's fear of having children. Cole being unable to suppress Belthazor and being taken over. Cole wanting to be a cop. And then the introduction of Cleaners which is a million times better and awesome than the series.

I'm not sure if this is true and it can just be a rumor but I've heard online that "Charmed and Dangerous" was written to be the Season 4 finale and the 2nd half of Season 4 after that episode was gonna be used for the first half of Season 5. Is this true? I feel that Charmed still would've had the demon of the week gig going for it with more Source related episodes like Brain Drain and they would've vanquished the source by the end of Season four instead of mid season? Prue would have had to have had a new long term love interest come through. However, there was that whole chemistry between her and Cole which would have been interesting if it played out. - I think that the writers initially had this idea with Paige and Phoebe but Holly and Alyssa were against it. You probably would have had Piper and Leo trying to have conceive storyline until the end/ half way in? Had Shannen wanted to leave and it be done gracefully, Paige may have been introduced mid way through the season? And Prue would have died with a contract to come back from time to time in Season 5. In fact the storyline of Cole being a player could have between Paige and Phoebe - before finding out that they were sisters. I'm guessing the Patty, Victor and Patty would start to appear more regularly as that's how Season 3 was looking - and the start of Season 4. I also think there would be more past/future episodes that explored their heritage. Cole probably would have been possessed by the Hollow towards the end and become the source in the finale as the cliffhanger? Or would that be too drawn out?

Once Cole becomes possessed by the Source in this alternate S4 finale, will the sisters help him get rid of the Source's possession? Or will they still kill him with extreme prejudice?

At one time I really loved this idea, but I guess its hard to think of how it could work well now. We all know that they originally had the Cole/Source plot for the first half of season 5 planned, and presumably Charmed and Dangerous as the season 4 final.
What I think I would of liked is ending season 4 on a cliffhanger with Were off to see the Wizard instead, and letting the first half of season 5 being all about Evil Phoebe. Which is what they had planned when Shannen didn't leave, as Phoebe was left in the underworld with Cole, but Paige's introduction slowed it down.
I'd have preferred it this way. Season 4 still stays the same, only the last 3 episodes of the season now become apart of season 5 and are expanded for more juicy story and we end the season on a big cliffhanger Phoebe becoming Queen of the Underworld. That leaves an extra 3 episodes for season 4, no idea where I'd put them or what stories just yet. But I'd much prefer season 4 and 5 being structured this way.
Anyone else agree?

Actually that is a good point as the end of 'We're Off to see the Wizard' (i.e. the coronation) does have a very end-of-season feel about it. If the first half of Season 5 had consisted of Cole and Phoebe being the Rulers of the Underworld, it could've culminated in Cole's vanquish in the 100th episode. Then perhaps the rest of Season 5 could've been about Phoebe trying to keep her unborn child safe from the Seer, who could've finally been vanquished in the penultimate episode. Then Phoebe could've given birth in the finale and - if you wanted a Season Six - you could have Chris show up and we would be left to wonder if he's Phoebe future son or a demon....

Oh how I wish Prue had stuck around. It's possible they could have gotten Shannen on board for a Season 5 if tensions died down a bit with Alyssa prior and the producers gave her some directorial authority. I'm thinking that would probably be her limit though, and it's perfect too because they could give the proper build up to the Source storyline and have it all culminate with Phoebe becoming queen of the underworld and the final vanquish at the end of Season 5. Nothing too convoluted or silly would be introduced as we saw in the latter four seasons of the original series.

Apparently, Brad Kern once said he'd quit if Shannen set foot on the Charmed set again.
A big reason that they should have gotten Shannen back, if it meant getting rid of Kern.

IDK if that's how the show was supposed to end, however I'm contemplating the show ending on just that, and I really can't. I do like the some of the later seasons.
