Hello all! I've had some free time away from school recently & I've been doing a re-watch of "Charmed" on DVD.
I'm currently on season 6; specifically "I Dream of Phoebe."
Now when Ginny the Genie wishes the Charmed Ones dead, the only reason they don't move on is because Leo ended-up somehow in the midst of sleep, healing Piper & by extension both Phoebe and Paige.
It's always funny what you notice during a re-watch. So we all know that Leo can't heal the dead. So...if they are in effect dead (because the genie wished them dead immediately), how was he able to heal them?
Does it exist in the whole gray area of they weren't technically dead because they hadn't "moved on?"
In prior episodes, souls/spirits move on much faster than they did in the episode. Did it take them longer to move on due to their strength & the shock of the situation?

Did it take them longer to move on due to their strength & the shock of the situation? We saw Daryl go through the same situation in the S6 premiere, "Valhalley of the Dolls" - his soul was seperated but he was kept alive due to external forces. What I always thought happened in this episode was just this - when Ginny wished for death, it didn't actually stop their hearts from beating.. It just separated their souls from their physical bodies. Leo was able to heal Piper's body before her soul had fully moved on, as we see how these spirits move on when Piper becomes the angel of death. Since Piper was healed, the wish for all 3 was thwarted. Since this death wish was from magical causes, and was for personal gain, it was bound to have some sort of consequence/back fire, just like all of the other wishes in the show - think back to the season 2 finale, where every single wish didn't go off without a hitch. I really didn't like this episode, or season 6 that much really. There were some good parts, but I didn't like Chris' storyline.. I like Chris as a character, but the arc for him was totally ruined! Same with Paige & Richard - totally bad.. The same with Phoebe and Jason, as well.

Okay, I see where you're going with that. Yea...I mean that all makes sense to me; I'd have to agree.
I love the entire series and everybody has an opinion or a unique experience while watching. I actually can't say that I dislike any of the seasons.
Obviously some years are more enjoyable & well-written/acted than others. It's been a while since I've watched the complete series back-to-back - however, I do like season 6 a lot...which could possibly be attributed to the fact that I think it was a step in the right direction. Especially after season 5 because that season was more fluff to me than any of the others. SOME of the episodes in season 5 were just too light & child-like. I have a hard time getting through the fairy tale episode...or even the sandman one.
Season 6 starts out incredibly strong, story-wise. I do think that it ends-up being dissapointing. I care about the girls obviously, but I don't find myself invested in the individual relationships.
Paige & Richard...not a fan at all. Phoebe & Jason...better than Paige & Richard but not by far. Both of these actors found success on other TV series (Brothers & Sisters/Grey's Anatomy) but I don't care for their contributions in "Charmed." Probably more to do with the characters themselves as opposed to their portrayal.

Going of topic here but still on the same thing though Leo's charge Maria the teacher in 'Saving Private Leo' died pretty quickly as her soul moved on practically soon as she went yet Piper's didn't when Nathan or Rick the ghost forget which one it was of the top of my head stabbed her later on the very same episode which always got me there also.

In this episode, Chris had tried to bring his parents back together, hence laying on the couch and close to each other. Maybe Leo had reacted on instinct and healed Piper that way and with her in extention, Phoebe and Paige. Who knows what the author had thought here?

I agree that it started off much stronger than it ended, Gideon was just garbage haha. I started off liking Jason, because I loved the way he admired Phoebe and wanted the best for her. However, I realized later that in my opinion he didn't want her to be her, just a version of herself that he wanted. I was actually pretty heartbroken when they broke up in the rain after Phoebe ruined one of his meetings. I would have much rathered it be because of the ruined meeting, but alas, it was because he could not accept her fully. I think I am going to rewatch season 6, maybe I'll do an episode review!

Or maybe because they were married still and had kids together they had an emotional connection with one another obviously well with Leo at least then if not Piper as he still loved her so on so when her soul started going upwards maybe he sensed she was in danger somehow almost like sixth sense especially when Piper called out to him and so he healed her afterwards then instinctively unless some people don't agree with me that is.
