Considering the storylines are much better than what we got after season 4, yes I can imagine it as seasons. As for Prue, that's tough cause Shannen's face always pops up when I think of Prue. But as for Patience's appearance: Could totally see Claire Danes.

I've always imagined her as Portia De Rossi.

Oh, that's amazing how much those pictures from the comics and screenshots of Claire look alike. Don't know if she could act enough like Prue for me to be convinced that she *was* Prue, the way I can in my imagination, but, oh, yeah, I can see that, much more than Sarah Michelle or Portia.
As for a whole season, no, I can't really think of it that way because the issues are too short for me to count them as a full episode. Now if they had come out with 22 volumes, that would be just about right...

Since Shannen has mentioned in conventions she'll come back if anything Charmed happens, I doubt we'll be seeing Claire as Prue. Claire won best actress for the TV show Homeland twice and two more times in another show so I seriously doubt she'll agree to be Patience, which would be just a cameo role with Shannen around. With shows like Sleepy Hollow and Agent Peggy Carter, I could see Charmed season 9 and 10 more suited to eight or twelve TV episodes each. The whole 22 episode format should've been thrown out of the window earlier. Another reason for comic working so well is because useless things like Phoebe's love life or Piper and Leo's constant whining about normal lives, dressing up in crazy outfits due to spell backfire all could easily be avoided due to the short-format. I've always imagined her as Portia De Rossi. I don't recall ever seeing her act. But the short hair really suits her.

If Shannen would be back I'm not entirely sure if the Patience thing would get used at all, to be honest.

I agree totally. Patience wouldn't make a lot of sense if Prue was Shannen - it would have to be a totally different setup, meaning the comics would never be canon. I'm not sure if CBS will allow that... That may end up being why we never end up seeing Shannen in anything new Charmed, which might also mean we'd never get anything else Charmed outside of a reboot, since I doubt Holly would be part of it if Shannen isn't.

I imagine that the whole fight scene which takes place Up There with Neena would also include Prue if the issues were translated into a mini-series or movie. Pretty sure the Patience storyline may not have happened if Shannen's likeness was allowed.

I'm still not convinced that she had anything to do with Patience.
I think that's how Paul Ruditis wanted the storyline to follow - if Prue came back looking like Shannen how would they explain it to everyone who knew she was dead? Unless they had her as a ghost or whitelighter (same problem..) or something like that, it's illogical to think she'd look like Shannen. Shannen had it in her contract with Aaron Spelling Productions that she had control of her image. That does not include anything with CBS. It was getting the rights to all of the acts at P3 that slowed the release of the DVDs, not Shannen. In this case, it was CBS letting the rumor that Shannen wouldn't let her image be shown so that fans would accept Patience easier. It's also what will probably prevent Shannen from being part of anything Charmed, since that would make the comics non-canon forever, and especially with Paul Ruditis doing the e-books in the same Patience-not-Shannen universe, you know CBS wants his universe to be counted as canon, even when it's just official fanon.
That might be why they tried so hard for a reboot rather than a TV movie...

Do I consider the comics as seasons. No, I don't. Charmed only had eight seasons, no more. The comics are just another form of Fan Fiction, someones take on what MIGHT have happened after the series ended. Paul Ruditis himself said that it's entirely up to the readers to accept or reject the comics as real continuation.
However, for those of you that do consider the comics as seasons, more power to you. Since any chance of the 1998-2006 Charmed continuing is slim to none, the comics are as probably as close as you're gonna get.

There is NO "Season 9" or "Season 10," no matter what they call the comics. Yes, the comics are officially-licensed and they are consistent with the show's canon, but they'll never be 100% hard canon like the show. Basically, they occupy the same place in Charmed canon as the EU occupied in Star Wars canon... and we all know what happened with that.

Yeah, the whole Star Wars EU has been Jossed (look this term up on TV Tropes).
Actual filmed episodes trumps EU every time.
