This is Gone Too Soon by Simple Plan and maybe you'll all think I'm crazy, lol but it reminds me so much of Prue.
AHBL aired when I was 6 years old and I watched it then but didn't properly get the bug until 4 years later, when I was 10.
I don't know how to say it other than Prue Halliwell is my hero. She has been for 10 years now. I grew up modelling myself on her, her patience, her integrity, her selflessness, how protective she is of her sisters. As a child I would daydream of being their baby sister. I'd create scenarios of how it could happen (impossible with the dates really as I was born in 95...) but I would dream up me being slightly older than I am and Patty would have died when I was an infant.... And PRUE raising me.
Have anyone else on here ever ingratiated them self in their own 'fanfics'? :')
Anyway. Prue just had a huge impact on my childhood and as an adult, I still don't want to let that character go!
I love you, sweet Prue Halliwell.

Oh, yes, many a fan has put themselves into fanfics, although they usually hide it by making them a different character, usually as Melinda Halliwell - either as the one we see at the end of "Forever Charmed" or as Chris' twin sister who shows up during Season Six - there were a ton of those written during the summer between S6 and S7. There's also been a lot of them where they're either another unknown sibling or cousin. I did read one where the writer put himself onto the Charmed set and had Alyssa fall madly in love with him before they ended up in the Charmed world.

Those are usually stories that the writer enjoys while readers don't because that character usually outshines the actual characters.

I did one where I was Paige's twin sister, showing up in order to straighten out Piper and Phoebe and Leo and Cole - but no way would I ever share that one!

But writing them and enjoying them is one of the fun things of being a fan, so I hope you write yours so you can enjoy it.

Awww. I wish I was good at making fan videos and could make one with that song. It's just Prue and Piper all over. It totally describes Piper's feelings after Prue died.
