Okay so for comics they weren't willing to pay her for images, but she refused her appearance on Forever Charmed because the way the writers were bringing her back wouldn't be authentic, interesting and true to Prue's character. What exactly did Kern had in mind?

Hmmm..wonder why it didn't show up when I looked up Shannen Doherty before. According to Youtube, it was posted on 4/21/15, but nothing anywhere about when the interview itself actually took place.

I'm very curious to know what they had in mind for Prue. If it was season 8 though, I don't blame her for declining. I don't doubt it sucked.

I heard a rumour before that said she was going to appear in season 6. Presumably when Piper was hemorrhaging in the finale, Prue was going to appear to her similarly to how Leo did in Awakening and tell her it's not her time yet and giving her the news about future Chris and comforting her. It's probably just a fan rumour, can't remember where I heard it now.

Something like that would've been *very* nice.

That's how I would've liked to have seen her used in "Forever Piper", I mean "Forever Crap", I mean "Forever Charmed". Let Piper actually die during the Ultimate Battle along with Paige and Phoebe (no way Piper's powers should've been able to save her from that), and the same way Leo helped her during Awakening, let Prue begin to lead her towards the Light, but then have the Angel of Destiny appear and say that's not how she saw it ending and that Piper has one chance to change it. Then let Piper wake up and continue from there.

And, of course, include pictures of Prue on the wall, ending with the picture Grams took of the original three the day she died, then a bit of magic and have Paige be part of it, too.

But I'll bet my bottom dollar that whatever Kern had in mind for her, it was nothing like that.

Just keep in mind that Kern always insisted he never even asked her or Julian to be part of the finale; that he wanted to concentrate on the present set of three and any appearance by Prue would've overshadowed them. So, as always when it comes to Charmed, we'll never know for sure.

It's why that's the true "reunion" movie I would like to see - what actually happened in the background, with others playing the parts of the actresses. Although *sigh* even that we probably wouldn't know for sure if it was telling the truth.

Definitely. We've seen Piper's reaction to losing everyone except her own son. Season 7 just skipped over Chris grieving and except for Leo, everyone just moved on which was really not natural.

Yeah I thought the same. That version of Chris died and whether his present self was born or not, I don't believe that Piper would be A-OK about him being murdered.

A bit like season 4 and the Phoetus. So Phoebe's baby is going to die, but don't worry, it's pure evil, so she's totally cool with it. No emotions necessary.

Both of them truly should've mourned both of those losses despite the circumstances. It just shows how cold and hard they had become - all about them and not much else.

This series *so* should've ended after Season Four, with them giving up their powers and us not put through the torture of S5-8.

Does anyone think Piper might've actually been grieving but not showed it really 'cause that sorter thing affects people differently or maybe it was too hard to think about it because of how she felt when Prue went and so buried herself in Wyatt and baby Chris instead been overprotectively of them and not taking them out etc which I'm not saying might've happened actually just questioning as a possible comment.

I do agree the gang should've grieved for Chris though maybe done something like what the original sisters did at the end of 'Exit Strategy' with the candels lighting them up in memory for the two fallen witches killed earlier on where they could've talked about Chris briefly which would've helped them move on since there'd never be a funeral or anything.

I'll bet Shannen would've wanted something like that. But that would've made it be too much about her. In my own way I can see why Kern wouldn't want that. I just didn't want it to be just about Piper and Leo. Leo never should've been returned until the end. It would've been so much better if something like P3Nathan suggested happened and when Piper comes back she finds out that Paige has panic-orbed and is safe and then they're the ones who travel to the past in order to try to save Phoebe. But with Rose already working on a movie that couldn't happen.

Can always count on Shannen to answers questions as bluntly as possible. Now that it has without a doubt been confirmed they did want her back for the series finale I do wish someone from the studio would release what their plans were. It would be a great surprise at a comic-con maybe. There have been a lot of discussion among shannen, holly, Rose, and Alyssa about how they would all be up for a reunion special sooooo maybe we will see the writers plan there if it ever comes to be. *crosses fingers*

I wonder what Shannen means by 'not authentic'. Does that mean 'not long enough' perhaps? Mind you, I wouldn't want Prue to come back simply for the sake of a 5 min flash. I agree that she should've been involved in the jumps through history in 'Forever Charmed'. Or perhaps she could've become an Angel of Destiny and brought Leo back to Piper.

An awesome storyline would have been if, at the end of season 7, Zankou used a dark ritual to bring Prue back from the dead but possessed by evil. Then she could have been the ultimate power for season 8 and the whole series could have ended with the sisters reunited and happy.
