I thought it was our ghost or spirit. But of course after watching Buffy, Angel and Supernatural, a soul is also something if you don't have, you'll be a monster. Then there was the whole Lord Voldemort dividing his soul so he could be immortal, which was cool until he got his immortal butt killed.
Now in Charmed comics, we were introduced to the soul destroying athame. But the thing is, you can't go back in time and save the person whose soul was destroyed with it, because unlike a ghost, soul is something completely different. And this is where I'm kinda confused.
What makes it different besides the 'if you don't have it you'll be a monster' and 'you can divide it and live forever?'

I don't know I always thought a soul was an extension of ourselves a copy of who we are personally.

It's a difficult question to answer. I think it's supposed to be the metaphysical quintessence of what makes us who we are, our core. The body is just a shell, it can be broken and restored. At least, that's what I gathered from shows like Charmed.

It's a difficult question to answer. I think it's supposed to be the metaphysical quintessence of what makes us who we are, our core. The body is just a shell, it can be broken and restored. At least, that's what I gathered from shows like Charmed. The body can be restored from a state of corruption to a state of incorruption through the resurrection of course that's a religious teaching. Basically fantasy writers can do what they want as long as it's believable. |

The only thing I have a hard time trying to make sense of is that you can go back in time and save someone if he or she is dead or even if his or her ghost was vanquished. But if their soul was destroyed, you can't save them through time travel even. There will also be no reincarnation no future life. Nothing. It's permanent goodbye. But the soul and time travel thing is what's bugging me.
But I'm gonna say that this is the kind of athame that Gideon should've tried to use against Wyatt in Season 6. Because even if he succeeded in killing him, the Halliwells would just go back in time and stop it from happening.

Cause a lot of season 10 hasn't made sense.I think a lot of it has to do with their might not be a season 11. I think the Source could've used it as well to kill the charmed ones with if the source knew of it's existence. |

Is Pat Shand really Brad Kern in disguise, I wonder. Hell no. Pat Shand is a kitty. Kern was a monster who slowly massacred everything good about the series and characters. Besides this little gripe and the Ben thing(which I'm sure will be resolved in later issues), is the only thing bugging me. Otherwise, I'm enjoying Season 10. |

Yeah, I heard that the comics are not as selling as much as they had hoped.
Still, if the comics are cancelled, they should be given time to wrap things up.

I always felt the soul was an immortal essense that moved on after death. Grams was a spirit who couldn't die and was in the afterlife meeting people she knew and keeping tabs on her grandchildren.
