Does anybody besides me hated this when Piper had asked Dan to erase his memories of Piper telling her secret to him?

Yeah the way Dan freaked out about her beforehand this was better in the long run for him. I hate to quote late season Piper like this, but Dan was reacting with a myopic viewpoint. His first and only experiences with magic involved him being aged to the point where he was an old man, watching his arch rival disappear in a cloud of blue orbs, and dodging some firebreathing warlock. We can't say for certain what his reaction would have been had he been gradually lead to the truth through baby steps instead of having all of the negative perks thrusted upon him without warning.

I agree totally. Had Piper truly loved him and wasn't just using him to try to have a normal life, she would've told him the family secret before she slept with him and I believe he would've eventually accepted it the same way both Andy and Henry did. But like Andy he might not have been able to accept her as a witch, which might be another reason why she didn't tell him. This is all why I think she was kind in having him forget everything that happened and have some peace, the last time I respected Piper.

The problem with the Halliwell sisters is that even when they eventually engage in a long term relationship with someone, they had a bad habit of lying to said partners about being a witch . . . with the exception of Paige. They always seemed to forget that Patty had kept her role as a witch a secret from Victor until after their wedding. And her lies and bad timing had a negative impact on their marriage.

Which is why I never understood the whole Piper & Dan relationship. There's nothing there. No chemistry and nothing but lies. Piper infuriated me the most, during this season. Playing poor Dan like a fiddle. He deserves better, and I think this season's Phoebe would've given him that, personally.
