Legend of the Seeker was one of my favorite shows after Charmed! It not only has very strong female characters (Kahlan, Cara, Denna, Jensen, etc) just as Charmed did, but the supernatural aspects of it are so cool! I love how they introduced Confessors. Women who have the ability to tell if you're lying, and bend your will with one touch. The story, the characters, the special effects, the acting (mostly), the location, costumes, everything was great! In fact they spend so much money on their quality that they became so expensive and no one could afford to keep the show going after just 2 seasons.
Has anyone else seen this show before?

Have to admit I've never heard of it before. When was it on, what channel and what was it about?

It ran from 2008 to 2010 but surprisingly has better graphics than some shows on today! It's set in the same time as Lord of the Rings or Game of Thrones. It struggles to get its footing for the first 3 episodes but it gets so good! It's about a world broken up into 2 sections. One with Magic and one without separated by a magic boundary. While one has wizards, witches, Confessors, and other creatures; the other has never seen magic in its life. A man on the non magic side is found by a woman who crosses the boundary (something that has only happened one other time). She claims he is the seeker destined to defeat the evil Darken Rahl, the leader of the magic side (Sorry the names of each land escapes me). They, alongside a wizard of the first order cross the boundary in order to defeat him. It sounds cheesy, especially because its a plot summary that I just wrote off the top of my head but its very addicting

Here's a quick clip of a scene that shows how strong they portray all the women in the show. I'm probably going to watch this show again once I finish my Charmed rewatch. It's just so good! www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_zjXvmyLWg

Isn't it based on a series of books? Anyway, it sounds interesting, I might just watch it.

Yes it is based on the Sword of Truth book series! I bought the first book but haven't had a chance to read it yet. From what I hear the show has slight differences but mostly stays true to the book. I definitely recommend it. Its only 2 seasons long so it wouldn't take much time. After I got to episode 9 I literally couldn't stop watching them. Finished the whole series in about a week or so haha.

You really should try it out! It's a good supernatural substitute for Charmed. I could imagine Kahlan in the Charmed Universe easily.

Yes! I really enjoyed Legend of the Seeker. Underrated show. I was part of the fan campaign to try to save it. I really liked Lord of the Rings and Seeker was the closest thing I could find in terms of a show. Arwen and Aragorn never fought together, so I loved that Richard and Kahlan did!
