Cloning Vs Mimicry

I had a thought which makes me really confused, and the charmed wiki of course isn't accurate. Which is the difference between Cloning and Power Mimicry?

I'm going by the episodes "The Witch is Back" and Which Prue is it, Anyway?

Prue cloned herself so her copies had same powers. It says that Matthew has Power Mimicry and on the charmed wiki page (which we all know is wrong, lets not go into that) is says it's permanently copied.

But as far as I can remember they said copied nothing more. Could Power Mimicry only be Cloning with a added power? Like the two different Astral Projection and Shapeshifting with added power of Voice Manipulation?

Or are they both the same and charmed wiki has basically confused the matter. I dont buy what that place said. but I hope someone here can explain it better.

I always thought power mimicry was just the ability to copy someone's power not how they looked which cloning did unless said witch had that power originally though Charmed was never really good explaining those sort of things anyway.

Well when a witch clones themselves, their clones automatically have their original powers - like how Eames' clones could use the powers he had stolen from other witches - so I guess you could say they clones 'mimic' their original host in every way, including powers. However, actual Power Mimicry is just the ability to copy someone else's power and be able to use it yourself, however you're not stealing the power, as such, because they original user still has it, you're just duplicating it basically. I guess you are 'cloning' the power for yourself, but to me they are quite different powers.
