I wouldn't have minded seeing those powers as they make much more sense than what we got on the show. Although, it would maybe run the risk of them becoming too X-Men-like. I would've liked to have seen Paige getting an orb shield in the show, which I would've much preferred to her orbing, healing and glamouring. Similarly, Phoebe's advanced empathy would've a good progression of her powers. Piper getting that melting/fire advancement seems a bit pointless to me, considering she can already blow things up. Then again, I still wish she'd developed freezing/ice power instead of combustive ones.

I don't see what's so "superhero-like" about their new abilities. They're just extensions of what they already have. We've seen plenty of force field magic with amulets, crystal cages, apple circle and with Wyatt. Witches heating things and setting things ablaze isn't new; you've got Aviva, fire starters, the witch in the pilot etc. And Phoebe's was actually in the show, we're just given some details about it. I thought there were some powers far more "superhero-like" in the actual show to be honest. I mean we had one witch with super speed and a warlock who could fly! I wonder if people are just thinking "comics = superheroes".

Yeah I don't see them being that super-hero like really. They're all just natural extensions, this is what the Power of Three should have advanced too power wise in the show, It just didn't happen quickly enough in the show.
