I've read on the charmed.wikia.com that initially Shannen wanted to end her character after "Be careful what you witch for", but she had already signed the contract for a third season. I didn't find anything that proves this info, is it really true? Does it have anything with Connie's departure?

Possibly true, but unlikely. Wasn't late Season 2 the height of her famed feud with Alyssa. I think things had actually simmered down by the end of Season 3, as Shannen was expecting to do a Season 4.

I don't believe it. I never read that before except the wiki. It only seems like it could be true based on the fact Prue did die and got brought back by a wish. So there was a way out for her.
But no it wasn't true, as Shannen we know was suppose to come back for season 4 but got fired.

Maybe she did feel like leaving after season two, we don't know, she obviously changed her mind if that was the case though.
