My favortie episdoe is All Hell Breaks Loose, because that is literally what happens. Everything spirals out of control and there's nothing they can do about it until it's too late. Prue loses control when she wants to rush Piper to the hospital after she's shot and starts hurting innocents. Phoebe makes a deal with The Source. Pipe dies. When they reset time everything gets screwed up because Phoebe and Leo aren't there to vanquish Shax/heal the girls, and finally Prue dies. It's a devestating episode, the acting's great, the writing's great, and the outcome is shocking.

I always wondered if the in-show reason Prue was killed is because she committed the ultimate sin of using her magic on innocents. She suffered the ultimate consequence. That's a very interesting way of looking at it. You could very well be right. Actually the fact that during that episode it was either Piper or Prue who would die, I always thought it was because they exposed magic in the middle of the street. From what I can tell, "innocents" means people innocent of magic and exposing it (see Morality Bites...the reason Phoebe died) is the worst sin in the Charmedverse. But that's why it doesn't make my list of favorites - exposing magic like that is so stupid and so out of character, I hate them being that stupid during Shannen' last episode. I really believe that if it *wasn't* her last one it wouldn't be that many fans' favorite. |

Mainly the ones with Chris, because he's my favorite character. Though I mainly love Chris Crossed and Spin City where they give some information about him. The others are only provide snipplets and the treating of him. Yeah, well, that's part for another thread.  |

I've never thought about it this way, her death being a consequence of something she had done. It does make sense. But I do not think the decision to chase Shax down the street was out of character for Prue. She can be a little full of herself sometimes, over-confident and fearless. Also, Piper tried to talk her out of it which is very Piper-like (at least season 3 Piper). |

Yeah I was thinking like in the episode where they had the sins, Prue had pride and whilst that made her worse I think she must have had a lot of pride to begin with. In season 3 she was very gung-ho about demon hunting, I thought at some points that she thought she was indestructable, and that was without the sin. She got too good too quickly and frankly I think she sometimes let it go to her head.

*nods* I have to admit you guys are right. I may have to rethink my grading for that particular episode, since it was what I mainly had against it - that and Phoebe putting Cole in front of her sisters, an indirect cause of Prue's death.
Her pride and her gung-ho against demons that was so prevalent in S3 but not in either S1 or S2 was why I was glad she died. You could see Kern already ruining her the way he ruined Piper and Phoebe and Paige (see my signature...). I would've hated seeing how he would've ruined Prue in the latter seasons.

Season Eight
*Insert tumbleweed* LOL! I got SUCH a kick out of that! Was that actually Coop's debut - funny, I thought he popped up earlier, but since I only watched S8 once - the first time it was aired - I'm sure I'm remembering wrong. Just because I *haven't* watched S8 in so long, that's part of why I'm getting such a kick out of your reviews. Funny how Coop's debut changed your reaction to that episode. The same is true for why a number of the episodes didn't make my A+ list, and just my A-list - because there would be a part of it that if that part was not part of it, I like the episode. Stalker Cole turned a lot of the early S5 episodes that I did like from A+ to just straight A's. Ditto for Piper and Phoebe in S8, when I really enjoyed Little Wyatt and Paige and Henry while really hating Piper and Phoebe. Billie was just bleh. ETA: Curiosity. I know you said you'd explain your choices later, but I noticed the different colors you used for the Season titles. Were there any specific reasons for those choices? |

Haha, glad your enjoying my season 8 reviews. I'm looking forward to posting my thoughts on Vaya Con Leos.  Yeah, it's funny how sometimes one character can be the clincher. I'll see how I feel when I rewatch "Engaged on Confused", perhaps it'll make the list despite Coop... I can't remember how much time is actually spent on him. ETA: Curiosity. I know you said you'd explain your choices later, but I noticed the different colors you used for the Season titles. Were there any specific reasons for those choices? Oh those are just the colours of the DVDs. Figured I'd play about with the font colours. |

Haha, glad your enjoying my season 8 reviews. I'm looking forward to posting my thoughts on Vaya Con Leos. Oh, man! Especially with the new Star Wars movie coming out, I'm going to guess that you will use a Star Wars-type title for it. That final scene just reminds me *so* much of Leia and Han when Han is put into carbon freeze. The difference, of course, is that Leia really loved Han... How Piper could mourn Leo the way she does after the way she treated him earlier as her own little errand boy, I'll never understand. That will be very interesting to find out... OH! You're right. Since I have the first three, I should've recognized the colors, but I didn't. Very good way of doing it. |

- Sin Francisco - Sin Francisco is easily my favourite episode due to the manner the sisters and Leo are affected by the sins. Prue's pride provides some great moments: running into precarious situations and shrugging off getting shot, her modest interview after these events, jumping into the pit ('You lose, I win, HA!' - I've always found the 'ha' so endearing?) I also love the way Piper's sin was handled with her gluttony more in line with the original depiction. In general I find the episode well written and well acted, each performer really embraced their sin and ran with it which was fun to watch.
- From Fear to Eternity - Sure there's inconsistencies with this episode but I love the character building it provided. Seeing Prue become open to saying 'I love you' again was nice to watch. I also just found the premise of the episode cool, especially when I was younger, and as I've continued to watch the show the episode just became more beloved. My only wish is that Barbas had been a one off demon.
- Deja Vu All Over Again - This is how you do a season finale. The stakes were high and upon first watch I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. Now I watch with a sense of dread, I really did love Andy and would have loved to explore his relationship with Prue more, especially once he knew she had magic. Being caught in a timeloop was interesting and Rodriguez was a villain I would have liked to have seen more of. The emotional impact of the episode still remains today which is impressive.
- Out of Sight - I love this episode for two reasons. Prue is finally able to channel her power through her hands and Andy discovers the sister's secret.
- Something Wicca This Way Comes - Obvious reasons. To this day I believe this episode is one of the best pilots I've seen. All three sisters were introduced nicely and had their season arcs set up, their personalities came across well which instantly made them endearing, the writing was good and it was well paced. I also love the Dominus Trinus spell - there are a few spells on Charmed which I think are worded beautifully and that is one of them.
- All Halliwell's Eve - Seeing the history of the Warren line was fun! I loved Melinda in her one appearance so going back in time to her birth was appreciated. I think the plot is really interesting and the various twists are good. Part of me wishes we saw more of this time but who knows if the quality would have been this good for whatever episodes continued to explore early Warren history. And on a superficial level I adored the costumes the sisters wore for Halloween.
- Once Upon a Time - Why do I love this episode? I don't know but Prue and Phoebe performing on the P3 stage, their actions in their childish state and the 'stairs can be sobering' line probably help.
- Primrose Empath - So amazingly acted by Shannen and I loved the fight scene.
- All Hell Breaks Loose - Esmeralda mainly touched upon why this episode is rather high in my list - simply it's Prue's last one. I'm not going to lie, this fact does sway my opinion on the episode because at its roots there is quite a bit of (out of character) stupidity going on to get the plot going. However, aside from this, there is one other scene that no matter how much I see the episode, grabs my attention and pulls on my heartstrings. And that is when Piper is shot and Prue tries to save her. The fallout from the shooting alone is enough to make this episode a favourite of mine even if we ignore the fact this is Prue's last.
- The Power of Two - Though I love Piper I didn't miss her in this episode? That is a great testament to the characters of Prue, Phoebe and Andy who always seem to interact well and naturally with each other. The ghost of Alcatraz was an interesting villain with good motives and this episode exposed problems between Prue and Phoebe and Prue and Andy that really needed to be exposed in order for them to be worked on.

I won't write a list but I'll talk of my 5/6 fundamental episodes
I'll start with the last in order of appareance, Kill Billie Vol 2
It'ld be the last episode of the series, I don't have the passion of the open endings, but in Charmed it'ld be perfect
They'ld close adding what Piper told Victor in Forever Charmed
Piper: But it’s okay, I mean, I’m gonna fix it. I don’t know how, but I’m going to fix it.
We'ld all believe Piper, certainly she'ld bring back her sisters: how, when ... boh, it would be subject to a future season, if they wanted one day recover Charmed
The battle, the devastation of the Manor, are spectacular, I love the icy digs between the sisters
PIPER: No potions, huh?
CHRISTY: We don't need any potions.
PHOEBE: Funny. Neither do we.
PIPER: (to Christy) I knew we shouldn't have trusted you.
CHRISTY: You should've followed your instincts.
PIPER: Next time.
BILLIE: There won't be a next time
I love the final scene, Piper nestled to Phoebe, unaware of the rest of the world, there is only her dead baby sister
PIPER: Look at me. Look at me.
PIPER: Breathe, sweetie. Come on, kiddo. Wake up.
Only when she hears the sounds of wood shifting she is able to remember Paige - and this is realistic, the shock of the death of wgo was your sister for your whole life can erase the memory of who was part of your life from just five years - so she delivers Phobe to Leo, runs to help hopeful and instead she finds Billie
She even forgets to have the power to destroy Billie with a wave, and jumps on her and punches her,in the grip of a fury that needs physical violence
Almost I wept with her, the first time I saw it
Beautiful scenes of the children, also: the special relationship between Wyatt and Chris appears so clear, even when Wyatt is playing with his granddad
Sweet, innocent brothers, Wyatt again is too aware of family dramas, he knows he has to protect his little brother with his shield, tries to help his mommy orbing to aunt Billie and helps to evoke the Hollow, it is clear that it will never be possible to grow him away from danger
Victor shocked by Wyatt's disappearance, cuddles Chris and tries to talk with her daughters: maybe he is seeing the future Chris that loved him so much when desperate he talks to the baby seeking for help?
VICTOR BENNETT: Hey, Chris. Listen, buddy. Hide-and-seek. You want to play hide-and-seek?
(Chris smiles.)
VICTOR BENNETT: Okay. Where's Wyatt? Can you find Wyatt? Can you use your powers to bring him home, please?
I like that the episode starts in the darkness of a dirty underworld cavern and ends into the darkness of a despairing night: in the middle, so many things happen, all important a part from the appearance of Coop, I'ld have happily done without him
Even Billie, that usually I evaluate a too spineless character, gets some personality
BILLIE: Too bad we're trying to kill Paige. Otherwise, she could've healed you
And Christy.. I like her, a strong character, resolute, cold, hungry for power
CHRISTY: We have work to do, Billie. We have to find a stronger potion.
BILLIE: Well, there aren't any, okay? That was the strongest one they had.
CHRISTY: Then we'll make a stronger one.
Kill Billie Vol 2 is worth a whole season

I love many of the aforementioned episodes ,but I don't find, with mine great surprise, one of my absolute favorites: Chris Crossed
From the beginning, with Bianca waiting behind the door,who smiles with tenderness and then attacks Chris, you understand that this'll be an episode full of surprises, surprise that goes on when Chris denies knowing who attacked him
The door which opens on Chris' future is full of emotions: the Charmed Ones dead, their home turned into a museum, the magic unveiled and accepted - no witch hunters - and Wyatt, not the adorable baby but adult, haughty and charming
The scene of the attic seems designed by a Goya's lover: all is dark, dark the attic, dark the motionless demons, darl dressed Bianca, extraordinarily dressed in black also Chris, typically fond of neutral colors
In all that darkness, Wyatt's imposing figure seems made of obscurity and the only bright spots remain Chris's face, pale and emotionless, and the icy one, blond circled of Wyatt
In this episode I met the real Chris: not the honeyed hero of fanfic, but the young man alone, full of doubts and uncertainties, which leaves a reality in which however he'ld live -it was enough to leave Wyatt alone with his dreams of power - and despite this he has the courage to leave his time, his life and his love to the unknown
And the witch, a powerful witch, able to stole the Book of Shadow to his big brother
And the lover one, Bianca and Chris is my favorite love story
I also loved the attitude of the sisters and Leo, angry with their whitelighter full of secrets but ready to help him
And the music that seems to link Leo and Cris in the sadness for their loves betrayed
I love this episode, one of the best of Charmed

Chris Crossed in one of my favorite episodes too, one that I can look without using the fast-forward to skip the boring parts
The scene in the attic, completely sunk in the dark, is among the best of Charmed
Unfortunately in the US series, with few exception as the first season of True Detective, light and scenography aren't take into account so much
Maybes for this reason I love Wyatt and Chris's face-off, the two brothers all dressed in black and barely illuminated by the light of the windows - those beautiful Art Nouveau windows seem them too obscured - are something absolutely different from the usual setting of Charmed
