What are your Christmas traditions?
Tomorrow I'll be back in my Salamanca, my family usually celebrate the Noche Buena, Christmas Eve, with a party for their old friends, they cook a lot of appetizers, especially shellfish and vegetables, the main course is cod, my mom fries it and then broils with zucchini and olives, as they do in Catalunya, her mother is from Barcellona
On Christmas day we eat risotto, my dad's specialty, and caldereta de cordero, lamb stew in white wine with Provencal herbs, and then lots of sweets, my favorite is the Christmas log with chocolate and marron glacé
During the day we exchanged visits and desserts and wine, t'is quite challenging
December 28th is a very popular feast, Los Santos Innocentes, it's celebrated among friends
This year I'll go out soon after with some friends to Marrakech, we'll celebrate the New Year in Morocco, but I'll be to my maternal grandparents where all the family'll celebrate the arrival of the Three Kings on January 6it's the day when people exchange gifts
When I was a child my parents took me to Cabalgada, a great parade of floats, the last was that with Los Reyes Magos throwing candy, on the way back I prepared a snack for the three Kings, but also for their camels: milk and cookies and a big bowl of water for the animals
Christams days are fun when you're a kid, I still feel the magic, I love this time
Merry Christmas to all the forum, have fun, turn off the TV and enjoy family and friends!
