David Bowie died this morning, after eighteen months of battling with cancer. This is really sad, he was a great artist. It seems like everyone is dying these days, it's depressing.

He was great
When I was a kid, during the summer holidays, with my family set off by car around Europe and Space Oddity, Life on Mars, Changes, Drive In Saturday were part of the soundtracks that my father got ready to hear driving
Even now I connect Space Oddity with the beautiful coast of Croatia and the cold sea ...
He was a genius, he could fill you with emotions
Goodnight, sweet prince, and flights of angels sing thee to thy rest

He was certainly a legend definitely.

I'm not usually one to get emotional about famous people dying, but this one got to me. My father and I went to see him in concert a few years a go, so I think that might have something to do with it; especially hearing that it was after dealing with cancer.
I guess it's just one of life's harsh realities... eventually your heroes die.

I was loving him since my childhood, my parents listened to his music, they took part the Glastonbury Festival 15 years ago especially for him
My dad made me also know the graphic novel Lucifer Morningstar, by Mike Carey, I followed it with passion: Lucifer had the face and androgynous figure of David Bowie
Maybe the abused words "he has left this earth" really make sense.
Maybe he really was an alien or maybe a demon visiting our Earth as Lucifer.
We'll miss him

Last June we lost Chris Squire the co founder and bassist for Yes to cancer,then in December we lost Motorhead frontman and founder Lemmy Kilmister to cancer, and on New Year's Eve Natalie Cole died of heart failure, Jan 4th Country Singer for the up in coming band Backroom Anthem Craig Strickland died of Hyperthermia when his boat capsized while Duck Hunting in Oklahoma during winter storm Goliath. And now David Bowie gone from this life. |
