In the end of "Forever Charmed" we see a photo of future Wyatt & Chris. Why wasn't their younger sister in the picture as well? We saw the little girl being handed a lunch box with Wyatt and Chris.

They would have had to hire another actress to play her.

We a little girl being handed a lunch box. However, said little girl has no canon identity. It doesn't matter what the e-books say, it doesn't matter what the comics say, and don't get me started on that rubbish heap called the Charmed Wikia. The only thing that's canon, the only thing that actually counts, is what aired on television. And no where on television was Mystery Girl identified as Piper and Leo's daughter.
She could have been Phoebe's daughter, she could have been the daughter of a family friend that Piper and Leo were babysitting, for all we know. Notice that Piper never mentions a daughter in her flash forward narration (Phoebe and Paige mention their daughters).
When Piper mentions the next generation taking over, only Wyatt and Chris were shown, with no sister in evidence.
So why wasn't Piper's daughter in Chris & Wyatt's photo? Simple, because no such daughter exists.

Simple, because no such daughter exists. Exactly. The girl might be Piper's daughter, but she also might NOT be. The show never explicitly stated otherwise, so either interpretation is correct. If anything, the lack of her in those scenes with Wyatt and Chris only suggests that she ISN'T their sister.

Oh come on, the reason they didn't explicitly state who she was is because it was pretty obvious that it was supposed to be Melinda, the daughter she was always supposed to have, the one from Morality Bites. Ok I know they didnt outright state it but it was pretty obvious who the girl was supposed to be. I doubt it would have been one of Phoebe's daughters because, um....Phoebe doesn't live at the manor anymore. We see Billie looking after her daughters. The reason she wasn't in the future with Chris and Wyatt was a mixture of sloppy writing and budget cuts.

That girl was the same age as Wyatt - Wyatt would've been her if Prue hadn't died and put them into a different timeline.

Nope, that Melinda existed in a future in which Prue was alive, Piper and Leo were divorced, and there was no sign of Wyatt or Chris. That future, and everyone in it, was wiped out.
Yes, that's it. They didn't state it. Therefore, the identity of Mystery Girl is not set in stone. She exists, but, as I said, she has no canon identity.
Piper could have been babysitting for Phoebe. To be asked to babysit a niece or nephew is not uncommon.
Maybe Billie couldn't do it that day.
They couldn't have gotten a young woman from the production staff to just stand there next to Wes and Drew? How much would that have set them back. As long as she didn't speak any lines, they wouldn't have had to pay her extra.
No, there is no sister, they never was a sister (at least not in the Reality Prime time line), there never will be a sister. Until concrete evidence can be produced of her existence, that's my stance, and I'm sticking with it.

I endure linked to the canon: if the maternal Piper forgot to mention her daughter, it means that this daughter doesn't exist; usually a baby sister ends up being a bimbo that her brothers have to save or an obnoxious know-it, wise and ready to flood of tips her daredevil brothers
It'ld be different if she was a little girl, a gift in Piper's maturity, at least 10 years younger than Chris, therefore irrelevant in her brothers's lives
It'ld be different if she was at Wyatt's age, Melinda sent from Mom Piper and Aunt Prue to a timeline where there is no witch hunt, a young witch grown in danger and with the dream to come back and change everythings
However, those who like the idea of Piper's little girl, has every right to believe it and to discuss it

All they had to do was leave in the line of the little girl telling Piper "I love you, Mommy," and that would've settled it. They could've also had Piper mention it in her voiceover.
This, right here, is a big reason why that flash-forward should've been left on the cutting-room floor. We really didn't need to know about any other kids besides Wyatt and Chris.

That's it exactly. A baby sister would be a "Smurfette" character that her big brothers would constantly have to rescue. Charmed had enough problem with it's 1950's morals and ideas, and this would have only added to that problem. That damned flash forward was really the rat that sank the ship. It was bad enough that it caused the Melinda Fallout on the original TCS board, but it also made it impossible for any real continuation. Now it's the Brady Bunch with magic

Although the little girl could very well not be Melinda, strictly speaking, she so clearly is meant to be. Not everything has to be so explicit and obvious. In this case Melinda's existence is implied rather than stated. Otherwise, the writers/producers would not have first shown Phoebe and Paige to have three children each, therefore placing significance on the fact that each sister is "meant" to go on and have the same number of children. It would make no sense to specifically show (and mention) Phoebe's and Paige's 3 children, and then just have Piper and her 2 boys.
And I suppose Piper could have just been babysitting the girl, but it seems unlikely that she would just be looking after only one of her many, many nieces and none of the others.

There's another explanation as to why we don't see her with the boys - she might very well be dead by this point - the "we've had our share of sorrows" Piper mentions around the same time that we're seeing the three kids...

Surely that would've been an important thing her for her to mention? (More important than her restaurant, that's for sure.) Why was the one line that would've identified the girl as Piper's cut from the final script? And I suppose Piper could have just been babysitting the girl, but it seems unlikely that she would just be looking after only one of her many, many nieces and none of the others. Who said that was a niece? Mystery Girl could've easily just been a visiting friend.

Let's face it, that flash forward was one of the biggest mistakes Kern even made. It was neither required nor desired. Forever Charmed could have easily ended on the big Halliwell get together.
Said flash forward has cast a long, dark shadow over the world of Charmed ever since. The Charmed Sons became The Next Generation, thanks to all those snot nosed brats it brought it. Paul Ruditis has said that he hated it, and, as I have said, I can't blame him. Thanks to the Shadow Of The Flash Forward, he had to write the comics with one hand creatively tied behind his back. One gets the feeling that, if he could, he would have happily ditched the Brood Of Brats. Alas, since canon introduced them, the poor man was stuck with them. He did the best he could.
And fan fictions are just as affected, unless one goes the AU route. While the Rex and Hannah Chronicles had mostly escaped the Shadow Of The Flash Forward, I had to jettison the Charmed Ones as guest characters to get out of it completely.
However, those that writer non-AU fan fictions about the sisters are forever trapped under the Shadow Of The Flash Forward.
The only solution to the Shadow Of The Flash Forward is a total reboot, it seems.

Or she could just not have been close to her brothers at that point in time. Whose to say all those kids would have a bond, they could be off living anywhere, perhaps not even interested in witchcraft.

Let's face it, that flash forward was one of the biggest mistakes Kern even made. It was neither required nor desired. Forever Charmed could have easily ended on the big Halliwell get together. As I've said before, it seems like Kern wrote that flash-forward out of spite for not getting his Billie spinoff, or even for the CW not wanting anything to do with Charmed, period. (Dawn Ostroff reportedly hated Charmed and wanted neither a Season 9 or a spinoff.)

If Kern's intention by writing that flash forward was indeed to sink the Charmed ship, he sure succeeded, didn't he. The flash forward has made any continuation virtually impossible. Thanks a lot, Brad

Or maybe Melinda wasn't around at the time to do the picture then because she had something else going on for those who believed she existed obviously or simply she mayn't have wanted to be in picture through choice or could've been camera shy who knows really although I'm not debating whether I think she existed or not as my minds in two places on that one actually.

You know, I can't think of one fan that liked that flash forward. It seems that most Charmed fans loathe it, and I can't blame them. As I said, it effectively ruined any chance of a good Charmed continuation. When I want Charmed, I want three sisters who happen to be witches, I don't want the bloody Brady Bunch Why was that flash forward made? Did Kern deliberately do it, to sabotage any future Charmed project, as some here suspect. Or did he do it because it fit with Spelling and Vincent's 1950's thinking (that a woman can never be fulfilled unless she gets married and becomes a breeding machine). I guess we'll never know the answer. However, as I said, that flash forward has done so much damage that the only way to fix things will be to completely reboot and start over.

Why do you love so much to repeat the same sentences endlessly?
I am among those who believe that Piper'ld speak of her daughter as well as the restaurant and who doen't like the idea of a younger sister for Wyatt and Chris
But so many fans, including those that have made in Europe Charmed the fifth most watched US series during the twenty years 1991-2011 (Huffington Post) loved the ending, they rejoiced at the idea of Halliwell family that grew larger, they were happy that Piper had the long-awaited daughter
We cannot confuse the mood of those who turn on a computer and talk to other fans with all those who night after night they turn on the TV to enjoy a show, we aren't the world
From my house - Lugano,Canton Ticino - I get Sky Italy and Charmed is always in response both on pay channels than on state channel, because it is gladly watched by those who know it and those who have not ever seen In a nice interview with the Guardian, Gillian Flynn wrote that she, in Charmed, admired the ability to make real characters with supernatural powers because Prue Piper Phoebe Paige could be our best friend, the school friend admired, the colleague with whom to talk, the sister to play with, they aren'tt the usual spunky heroines The sisters are not characters 50s, are modern, they have love, relationships, independence, frustration, strengths and weaknesses of the women of this century and make 3 children is not 50's, it's a free and valiant choise in the modern world
The focus group asked for consultation by the production suggested that an happy ending would be the more pleasing final for Charmed: nothing open end -my favorite - no dramas but the projection of an image of a domestic serenity, the classic "comeback home" as a reward for the hero
