Both seasons weren't loved much by the fan base but which do you think has the better pros? Season 5 or Season 8?

Yah the pros the positive side of Season 5 and 8. Which are considered the worst of the show but which had the better positive notes?

Not quite sure what you mean by "pros" - like Pros vs Cons or Guest Stars or what? Yah the pros the positive side of Season 5 and 8. Which are considered the worst of the show but which had the better positive notes? Hmmmm...you totally blew my brain away with that one! Hmmm...lemme see... Here's what I count as the positives of S5: 1. Piper - I really liked her in this season (keeping in mind that I count "Oh, My Goddess!" as part of S6, not S5) 2. Wyatt - as a fetus and as a baby, I really liked him. 3. The Crone - what a great villain! 4. Sense and Sense-Ability - one of my favorite episodes 5. Cat House - another favorite episode Here's what I count as the positives of S8: 1. Henry and Paige 2. Little Wyatt So I guess looking at it that way, S5 wins. PS. I count S6 and S8 as the worst of Charmed. For S6, for positives, this is it: 1. I Dream of Phoebe - just because I laugh *at* them so much. 2. Little Monsters - such a sweet innocent story and very little Chris! Wish Leo had stayed away and Piper ended up with Derek instead, so Chris became the guy with the tongue who never time-traveled. So for me, it goes S5 and then S6 & S8 (tied)

I think season 5 has more to offer. So much of season 8 is just redundant; as I've said in other threads, it reeks of "didn't we wrap this up?".
Now I guess you could argue that about season 5 too; since many (me included) think "Witch Way Now?" served as a perfectly fine series finale.
However... season 8 rehashes a lot of old plots (I say old, some were only a season ago); the impact of the budget cut was noticeable in several ways; there are times when everyone just seems done with the whole thing; there aren't really any villains that I'd consider memorable in a good way; and most of the attempts at comedy fall really flat. The only thing I would say is that it's probably a better season for Paige. The romance with Henry is enjoyable, while in season 5 she mostly just seemed lost without any direction.
With season 5 I can at least pick out a few episodes that I genuinely like and have a lot of fun watching. Not so many good villains, The Crone is the only one that springs to mind. But you had the build up of a magical pregnancy, which was something new. There are some disastrous episodes and the Cole stuff was terrible, but I can't honestly say I was bored much in season 5 and at least that's something. I thought Piper had some pretty decent development (up until the dreaded Oh My Goddess) and although she'd still whine, I don't think she was anywhere near her most shrill. Phoebe can be horrible, but it's not like she gets better later on. Paige is just lost as I said, but she's watchable enough.
So yeah, season 5.

I prefer season 5 but I like season 5, not as seasons 1, 3 and 4, my favorites, there are still several episodes that I look gladly and The day The magic Died is one of my top episodes
After a season, the fourth, full of anxieties and dangers, the fifth is much lighter and if the magic comunity had been used with more discretion and the magical creatures to be introduced were chosen with more care, it would have been better
Chrone is an intriguing character who deserved more time, Sam and Eve had potential as recurring characters, the demons market was a good idea: all sparks treated like a child does with the toys, used and immediately abandoned
Also in the season 8 there are a dozen episodes that I appreciate and one of my top, Kill Bille vol 2, but it's especially the season of wasted good ideas, unfortunately because of the tight time they had to put up the show It was good the idea of a period of hiding of the sisters: they could try new jobs, find - as in Run Piper Run - innocents to save without betraying their presence, live apart, face the problem of tutelage of Wyatt and Chris assuming that the Elders couldn't let a magic bomb as Wyatt in the care of Victor but this plot was used hastily
Classic and perfect the idea of the internal enemy, the friend that creeps into your life, steals your knowledge and then stabs you behind and Christy was really a good character, detached and puppeteer, also this was a story that would take more time and Christy needed a less dumb blonde sister

Season 5 for sure. Season 8 COULD have been so good - the Charmed Ones finally being held to account for their selfish actions, and by other powerful sisters witches as well - but it was horribly executed. The sisters never really copped to their selfishness in the end and only wanted to "save the world, or whatever..." to get Leo back, with some vague, blink-and-you'll-miss-it acknowledgement that they aren't "all about the Greater Good" in one of the later episodes. I get the sense that the producers wanted one more saga for the epic romance that was meant to be Piper and Leo. However, the plot crashed and burned and came off as the sisters twisting, bending and bartering with the rules in order to get their own way AGAIN and not actually giving a f*ck about doing so. At least in S7 you could kind of argue that their plan to bring in Utopia WOULD appear to benefit all of mankind (even if they did it so they could live demon-free lives) but in S8 they so blatantly were only interested in stopping the Triad/UP for themselves.
On top of that there's too much needless, recycled filler in S8 which meant Billie's "turn" was stupidly fast.
As for S5, it's a lot more solid despite the fact that Cole was brought back. But if you can tolerate that and take out all the crap fairytale episodes, it's a pretty decent season.

As much as I disliked it, I felt that Season 5 was better.

Tough decision, for sure, but I have to go with Season 5. Season 5 had one excellent episode with "Cat House," and a few okay ones with "The Day the Magic Died," "Baby's First Demon," and "Sense and Sense Ability." Season 8, on the other hand, has no episodes worth watching.
However, I have to admit that I'd probably take Billie over Season 5 Cole if forced to choose. Billie's storyline at least HAD potential, while Season 5 Cole had no redeeming factors, whatsoever. Cole should've been left behind in Season 4.
