If you could decide between having Brad Kern fired after season 4, but the show still remains on The WB for season 5 to 8 or keep Kern and the show moves to another network for season 5 to 8.
Which one would you choose, and feel would most benefit the show for season 5 to 8. Which one would have saved us from what most fans regard as the jump the shark period of Charmed of season 5 to 8.

This was a toughie for me. However, I chose Option Two. Charmed NEEDED to be liberated from the WB and put on a network that would treat it with respect. Charmed was the WB's favourite show to constantly meddle with (as my own poll stated). While Kern is not totally off the hook here, Charmed would have been much better off without the Frog Network (just like Star Trek would have been much better off without the Utterly Pointless Network).
I've always felt that the then still respectable Sci-Fi Channel would have been the perfect home for Charmed. In those days, that channel knew a good show when they saw one.

I also voted for keeping Kern and ditching the WB. Kern's biggest issue was that he was simply too much of a Yes Man to the WB (and Spelling, to a lesser extent). He cared more about making money than anything else, so he blindly did whatever the network told him to do, mostly for the worse.
Even with Kern still around, the show would've HAD to have been better off on a network that respected it and gave it relative freedom. While the continuity issues might've still been there (those, I think, were 100% Kern), the fairytale crap, fanservicey costumes, and extraneous guest stars probably wouldn't have.

Too bad Charmed did not premier ten years later, when AMC was branching out into original programming (The Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, Mad Men). Charmed might have found a good home there.

I didn't vote because my reaction is "Neither - the series moves to another channel (preferably SciFi or FOX) after Season Two. Both Brad Kern and Connie Burge are fired and Paul Ruditis is put in charge. He doesn't let it go beyond Season Four."
But since as my signature puts it, I believe that Brad Kern was to The WB what Shax was to the Source, if you put a gun to my head, I'd say move to a different network with Kern still in charge.

BK is a good writer of stories, I admit and he also helped as executive producer. With his hand, the stories were very well developed and easily to watch for the audience. They had a good storyline and all which I also prefer, despite all I may have against BK. That's why I decided for the second option.

And let's face it, Season Eight, a season that most Charmed fans hate, was the WB's fault, not Brad Kern's. The only reason S8 got made is because the WB had literally nothing else to put on in that time slot.

The only reason S8 got made is because the WB had literally nothing else to put on in that time slot. Very true. Again, the continuity errors and rehashed episodes were probably Kern's fault, but the fact that the season even exists is all on the WB, as well as the nuked budget and forced spinoff and guest star mandates. Considering the network restraints the show was up against, Season 8 was just never going to be a good season, even with an excellent showrunner at the helm.

Of course, for the WB, the writing was clearly on the wall by this point. The first blow had come in 2001, when Whedon defected to the Utterly Pointless Network, taking Buffy with him. The second blow was failing to find new hits to replace their aging ones when they ended (Felicity and Dawson's Creek come to mind here).
By 2005, the WB was on life support. Why didn't they give S8 a decent budget, they had nothing left to lose at this point.

Looking at the advertising data in our database, I found that Charmed is much view and transmitted in Europe compared to Buffy Buffy was also censored for language and sex scenes because, in Italy and in Spain, was broadcast in the afternoon slot as a TV show for teenagers and Charmed was broadcast in prime time

Where is option four with neither. LOL
WB made mistakes, but taking Brad Kern away from that network will not fix all the problems.

Thank You !!!
WB you were going off the airwaves. What damn budget ?
We lost Brian Krause and Dorian Gregory due to " No Budget "
But you gave Phoebe her own loft ? Doesn't make sense at all in the slightest.
And why couldn't Paige find purpose, other than being a whitelighter ? Like being some type of youth counselor or hell even getting back into social work ?
Why didn't Piper start her own catering business until the end of the show ?
Sorry got off topic ...
As devoted fans of this show, we deserved more than what we got in the long run.

Paige should of just gone back to being a social worker, of course they made it more important for her being a whitelighter. What a coincidence her father showed up at exactly the same time she was going to apply back to that job.

I actually wished Paige never quit to begin with, and just had flexible working hours. Like Paige might even be out of the office most of the time too. I actually felt out of all the four sisters, Paige had the best job that could be used more for innocents in many episodes.

YES! Paige being introduced as an assistant social worker was amazing because it "tied" to her "whitelighter" side. As I'm sure it's been mentioned numerous times. PAIGE IS NOT DEAD. THEREFORE, SHE CANNOT BE A WHITELIGHTER. Social Worker was her best way to embrace that "side" of her.
