Which half of Charmed Season 1 do you prefer?
The First half - Part A
or
The Second half - Part B?
I personally love the entire first season, but Part A has my favorite episodes "The Fourth Sister", "Dream Sorcerer"

Which half of Charmed Season 1 do you prefer? The First half - Part A or The Second half - Part B? I personally love the entire first season, but Part A has my favorite episodes "The Fourth Sister", "Dream Sorcerer" Although I love 'Dead Man Dating', 'The Witch is Back', 'Wicca Envy' and 'Secrets and Guy' (and hate 'Dream Sorcerer', by the way - although I do like 'The Fourth Sister'), I prefer the second half starting with 'That Seventies Episode' - part of my favorite "season" - 1x17: 'That Seventies Episode' to 2x16: 'Murphy's Luck'. Yeah, unfortunately it includes some clunkers, but it's the only time in the whole series when I love all three sisters - I don't like Prue (again, except for her in 'The Witch is Back', 'Wicca Envy' and 'Secrets and Guys' - part of why I love those episodes) before it and I don't like Piper after it. |

Id have to say the 2nd half would be preferred but "Something Wicca This Way Comes", "The Fourth Sister", "The Truth Is Out There… and It Hurts", "The Witch Is Back" and "Wicca Envy" are some of my first half favourites too!

Hm, I think the second half. I agree exactly with MrMilano, those episodes from the first half are great, but overall I think the second half is much more solid with series favourites (of mine) such as 'From Fear to Eternity', 'Out of Sight', 'The Power of Two', 'Love Hurts' and 'Deja Vu...'

Having watched S1 for the first time. No question, It's the second half.
As much as I enjoyed episodes like Dead Man Dating and The Witch is Back. I enjoyed the second half more, and in my grading of the season, the second half was stronger.
But, who knows how I'll feel one day when I go back and do my first re-watch of S1 when I finish the entire series.

I don't really really like S1A except the pilot and the witch is back . But S1B is my favorite of the show.

The second half is mostly stronger and has better episodes, but I like the first half more. Something about the late '90s vibe just gets more and more appealing over time, and that combined with the sweet awkwardness of the first half makes it really special to me.

There's a few episodes in S1A, that I enjoy, but I really think S1B really took the show places and began having more in depth storytelling and expanding upon outside the sisters skillsets. I've definitely changed my mind since posting this. I'm more of a Mid-S1 person. A lot of the episodes I like are around the middle section, of the season, like the following: S1E7 "The Fourth Sister" S1E9 "The Witch is Back" S1E10 "Wicca Envy" S1E11 "Feats of Clay" S1E12 "The Wendigo" I still watch some of the later stuff, like the following: S1E18 "When Bad Warlocks Go Good" S1E19 "Out of Sight" S1E20 "The Power of Two" For the most part, I'm smacked, right in the middle of liking S1's seasons LOL |

I do still love episodes in the first half of S1. But the Second half feels stronger.
However the middle I do like the best. From The Truth is Out There through That 70s Episode. I do like pretty much all these episodes.

I love how times have changed, for me, yet again, but I'm going to say the first half is my favorite.
The first half of S1 is the foundation of how the sisters are supposed to be via Prue the uptight workaholic (and distrustful of others), Piper the Panic/Peacemaker & Phoebe the free-spirit/understanding sister. I feel like the later half (with SOME exception for S1E13 "From Fear to Eternity") forgot that about the sisters. All of sudden, Prue becomes more understanding and slacking, at her job, Piper becomes more angry, and Phoebe became distrustful (particularly in regards to S1E18 "When Bad Warlocks Go Good").
While I understand character growth is supposed to happen, it didn't feel organic, to me especially how the first half based their characters in a particular direction, that differs from their later half.
