I know she obviously wasn't a Warren exactly, but do you think she was their ancestor? I just wonder because Phoebe's past life was one of her family members, so do we think the same happened for Paige?
I seem to remember the EE and her peers having somewhat English accents and obviously their time was very much pre-USA, so perhaps this points to the Halliwells having English ancestry as well?

Past lives usually aren't family members, but it would be pretty cool if way, way back then, before Melinda Warren, that the Warrens were evil. Maybe the Enchantress' daughter started them on the road to becoming the Charmed Ones... As for the accent - remember that the show would've done that no matter where they lived, but coming from England would make sense.

Possibly. Guess we'll never know really but it does make sense that she would be related to them somehow.

I guess it CAN happen, as was the case with Prue, Piper and Phoebe, but I assume it is fairly rare for your own family members to be your past lives as well. It would be funny if the EE was an ancestor to the Warrens. In my own Charmed mythology, the sisters ancestors would be English (or Scottish/Irish/Welsh) and they would have formed the first witchcraft covens, but would be outcast and labelled as 'druids' which would spurn them on to move to the New World. I don't know if the EE would fit that sort of history though. I take it she was meant to be connected to royalty, which was the reason for the English accents? English accents are often used to denote "posh" and "wealthiness" in a character, regardless of their nationality.

The one thing that struck me is that Leo said in 'Pardon My Past' that "we" tend to travel in the same circles throughout all our lives, which is where the concept of soulmates came from. I suppose that leaves a pretty good chance that your past lives will either be a close friend or family member as well.

Yup, that's what my friend (who's into reincarnation - I'm not, except as a plot device - but then I'm also not into witches and warlocks and vampires and Greek gods and...just the true God and true angels and devils...neither of which Charmed's angels and demons are) call "cycle mates" as compared to soul mates who are two halves of the same soul. But it can include enemies as well - people who you need to work out your karma with. If I kill you, I'll get a chance to help you in my next life, that sort of thing.

I think that's more or less what Leo said too. I am sure he said something about even our enemies' souls remaining close by, which was why P. Russell's cousins cursed her, so her "soul" couldn't meet-up with the immortal Anton in a future life.

I really hated all the past lives episodes they just never made real sense to me. And that's what makes it fun to be a fan - some fans like some things; other fans liked others. I really enjoyed the past lives episodes, but probably because they make sense to me thanks to my friend. I know how confusing they'd be to me if she hadn't explained it.

I really hated all the past lives episodes they just never made real sense to me. I loved 'Pardon My Past' but was not overly keen on 'A Knight to Remember'. I think it was because Paige was able to "remember" parts of her past life and that bugged me a bit. How could Paige, a nascent witch, subconsciously remember a past life from centuries ago but none of the others sisters' could remember theirs from 70 years previously? I think Phoebe should've been the only one who could gain such knowledge of a past life (as she did in PMP) because of her psychic powers.

Another inaccuracy I just realised about the EE is, how on Earth could a woman from the 12th/13th century understand people from the 21st century, even if she was English?

This is a problem that all time travel shows have. Characters go back to the Roman Empire and everyone speaks modern English, a language that didn't even exist back then.
Doctor Who gets around this problem by saying that the Doctor and/or the TARDIS has this ability to translate any language, and this ability can be shared with a Companion.
In The Masque Of Mandragora, Sarah Jane actually asks the Doctor why she can understand the guest characters (they're in 15th Century Italy). This clues the Doctor in that Sarah Jane was not herself (she was under a hypnotic trance), because she had never asked him about this before. He said it was a gift that he allowed her to share.
However, most time travel shows don't even bother.

It was also mentioned in the Fires of Pompeii, if I recall correctly. As for the Enchantress being a Warren, I don't believe so. I like to think she was related to Paige, but it was on Sam's side since her powers were bound. It would make sense to me since Whitelighters and Witches getting together is against the rules, presumably their love wasn't meant to happen and they wrote their own destiny in that regard. If that is the case, then Paige being related to the Warrens is simply a fluke, and therefore, this could be the first time Paige has ever been a "cycle-mate/soul-mate" to her sisters.

I wish they'd given the Enchantress a name.
I loved the look on her face when she was stripped of her powers, she looked like a sulky child who's just had their favourite toy taken away.
I wonder what happened to the EE after the Charmed Ones left. I'm guessing that Princess Julia was merciful and just exiled her (along with her mook, the guy that Leo beat up).
If the EE was an ancestor of Sam, as lordumbrex suggested, then, at some point, she would have had to marry and have children. This would have happened after Julia exiled her.

I found the theory that all of the sisters' past lives were related. That's just a bit too much for me to swallow. Or too convenient.

If the Enchantress had children, it would have had to have been before she tried mind controlling the unnamed Prince (and seriously, how hard would it have been to give two characters actual names?), since that ended with her powers bound, the Prince and Lady Julia reunited, and the spell broken… and I don’t see her living very long past that. 😉
