How would you feel about a "reboot" that wouldn't be about the Charmed Ones but would take place in the Charmedverse? What I'm talking about, essentially, is a spin-off, just like the one Billie was once supposed to have had. Only instead of a show about another SuperWitch facing the entire Underworld, we could have an original normal witch who is powerful, but doesn't have the massive responsibility to saving the world every week. The protagonist could just save Innocents and goes about their normal life, much like Seasons 1-2 of Charmed.
Any thoughts?

If it's still in the Charmedverse, so that means whitelighters and Elders and demons and half-breeds? No, thanks! Now here's one for you. What if it's a reboot with different actors playing the characters, but it's all about Cole being an avatar and going to different time periods and changing just *one* event and the results... Saw that as a suggestion a while back and always thought it would be interesting. Or another suggestion I've seen - how 'bout one about Paige (again played by a different actress) with her powers, but never meeting her half-sisters? And what if her whitelighter was Andy (again played by a different actor)? Since she never becomes Charmed, she wouldn't have all the problems her half-sisters had, but with Andy helping her use her powers - and remember that he's not supposed to have contact with anyone from his former life... And if just like S1 Andy, if he was very strict about following his leaders (the Elders...) rules (think Natalie...) and Paige was the other way around...oh, think of the fun! Those are the reboots/spin-offs I always wanted to see...

Well technically we wouldn't HAVE to put up with half-breeds so long as the protagonist could just restrain themselves from their Whitelighter/random-demon-who's-trying-to-kill-them and find a normal human partner . As for the Cole Avatar reboot, I'm not sure how that would work. Would he just "fix" different events in each episode? Now that Paige-Andy spin-off would be cool! That's more what I had in mind. I once had an idea of a witch protagonist and her Whitelighter, who was only around sporadically, and she also had a friend who was a Gypsy.

Have it set in New Orleans and that would be fun.

I believe that your description'ld be perfect for Phoebe and Paige's children Normal witches, who lead their lives and when it happens save innocents without carrying on their shoulders the fate of the world, relaxed and pleasant as the young Charmed Ones were Phoebe' girls would have the problem the cumbersome surname - Prudence Halliwell as the Prue... no, it's a coincidence, my mom loved the Beatles! - lived mostly as a nuisance I once read a shot funny fanfic focused on the Phoebe's two oldest daughters who studied at Stanford and tried to enjoy a life as normal witches, persecuted by the fame in the magical world of their family, I think it was named Wyatt who?

Here's something I wrote on a different thread in the past which could be applied here also. Another good idea I thought of was doing a show featuring 3 or 4 of the innocents the charmed ones saved over the years and what happened to them since then. It would sorter be like a crossover between Angel and Supernatural in where since they've fought out evil and magic exist each innocents starting to become more aware of it now and what's out there from their previous experience which would inspire them to learn about that through studying books and researching the internet etc and how they can defeat evil and protect themselves without having magical powers through making potions wearing protection charms or tattoos and using weapons and so on which could be done through flashbacks or stand alone episodes although at the start they'd have a very long way to go before been very perficent in it. They'd all live in the same town which wouldn't be San Francisco unbeknowest to each other and have partners and jobs or kids also if they did. Each person would meet up in the pilot investigating the same supernatural incident which they fought out about seperately and would discover each others knowledge about that and their previous experience with the charmed ones which they'd all talk about. The 3 or 4 people would team up together and vanquish whatever evil was out there and save anyone affected by it and then go their seperate ways which wouldn't work unfortunately because of the evil out there. They'd continue working together throughout the season secretly having an abandoned warehouse as their base where research, potions making and training would take place. Each person would have an assest essential to team which they'd all use different times throughout. It would be hard keeping what they'd do a secret from their partners, kids and employers who'd all find out about that eventually. Then after defeating a big bad at the end of the first season with the charmed ones help they find out there's so much more evil out there and that people need help so they quit their jobs and go about what they do full time creating an agency like 'Angel Investigations' and charge people for their help that way. It'd sorter be dark and gritty with light moments and comedic scenes also. The charmed ones would quest star in the first season twice but not anymore afterwards as the show would be about the 3 or 4 innocents essentially.

Actually, I've been doing a Fan Fiction series like this for the last eight years now. Set in the Charmedverse, but not about the Charmed Ones.
No, I'm not "hawking" my Rex and Hannah Chronicles again. They do meet the criteria outlined in this thread, after all.

I won't deny, I am curious as to how one could use characters who are evil as protagonists of a story/tv show. I don't think I've ever seen that.

I'm thinking that the only way it could be done is to do what I did. The characters realize that they've been playing for the wrong team.
Wasn't Lamont Cranston, the Shadow, originally a bad guy?

That's interesting, so like a redemption story? I suppose Cole was a "baddie" and was temporarily redeemed, but he wasn't really a protagonist obviously. The only recent example of an "Evil" protagonist I can think of is Hannibal (from the tv series) but I'm sure there must be loads of others. Sorry, I've no idea who Lamont Cranston is

Lamont Cranston's your basic typical bad guy turned good vigilante crime fighter who's featured on television, comic book, radio, novels, video games and is portrayed by two people himself and some wealthy aviator who takes over from him when the originals not around.

Hmmm...have to think on that one... If it's still in the Charmedverse, so that means whitelighters and Elders and demons and half-breeds? No, thanks! Now here's one for you. Saw that as a suggestion a while back and always thought it would be interesting. Or another suggestion I've seen - how 'bout one about Paige (again played by a different actress) with her powers, but never meeting her half-sisters? And what if her whitelighter was Andy? Since she never becomes Charmed, she wouldn't have all the problems her half-sisters had, but with Andy helping her use her powers (and remember that he's not supposed to have contact with anyone from his former life... And if just like S1 Andy, if he was very strict about following his leaders (the Elders...) rules (think Natalie...) and Paige was the other way around...oh, think of the fun! Those are the reboots/spin-offs I always wanted to see... I think I'm sold? And that's new for me. Paige isn't a favorite. But Paige isn't by the books and Andy IS. And it would be a great way to maybe start in/end of college and help her on her social worker path. And with him being a cop, he could definitely help her learn things about people. And Paige and Andy would have SUCH a sibling relationship. Yes, I'm kinda feeling it!

I would watch a series with a majority of the idea's here, much better than what the CW *might* have installed for us dears.

Now I want that fic of Paige and Andy. Even though I don't like the idea of Andy as a whitelighter. But Paige as a social worker is my jam. And this sw/cop dynamic would be love. The only issue is...Paige is in San Francisco. I don't think Andy would be in SF because he's from there. And he's dead. hmmmmmm
