Its a Bad Bad World Part 2 - because a part of me was hoping they would show us the bad future and not another alternate world. *sigh* I wanted to know and get way more insight into the bad future Chris had and how the Charmed Ones died. All season this is what I wanted to see. I actually believed that when Leo and Chris went through the portal that's where they ended up, the future. Except it was worst now since the Charmed Ones were alive and evil along with Wyatt and ruling. Highly disappointing it was just a mirror reality. Not even a proper alternate reality. And the Evil Wyatt was also just an illusion by Barbas :-( Some more insight into the future besides Chris Crossed was much needed. The show could've easily made a Cat House type episode with the finale except this time, it would be Chris memories and moments in time the Charmed Ones and Leo would be hopping through. They could find out about Chris life, how they died, how Wyatt took over and just so many other things. Since Gideon wanted to temporary get rid of the Charmed Ones and Leo so he could take care of Wyatt, getting rid of them this way by making the time travel spell backfire makes more sense then the parallel evil world which just came out of nowhere and was completely pointless. Oh man! That is a really clever idea of doing it, cyma.

I chose Oh My Goddess and Forever Charmed.
Oh My Goddess is simply because the Titans don't fit into Charmed as presented. I really have no concept of who the Titans actually are. Maybe it could work with more backstory, but to invent a nemesis that is that powerful and have them just go away in an instant with no mention of them before or after? Meh, it's clear that the season finale for season 5 was a rush job.

It would be a much more logical and exciting final I liked that the responsibility for what happened to Wyatt was human, not demonic
A child is a child, however powerful he could be and I like that the show emphasizes the importance of childhood in the development of a personality Leo and Cris should have been in the attic with Wyatt burning and Bianca dying , it would be logical that Gideon made use of that magical time stream Gideon would have easily given as a pretest to drive away Phoebe and Paige and should have been them, the Charmed Ones, to unmask Gideon

I didn't vote in this.
I have to say, the series had worse finales than good ones. It is funny, how Charmed was so bad when it came to having decent opening episodes and decent final episodes. I hate more than I like. LOL
Since Deja Vu All Over Again is the only one out of all eight, I really liked. It was hard to pick a bad one, I hate all of them except Deja Vu and This Way Goes.
Went with S6 and S8.

Forever Charmless is easily the worst finale in the whole show! Forever Charmless was a big letdown of a finale to me. And I know that's widely unpopular since people seem to love this finale, but I found it to be AWFUL! The entire episode just feels like a huge fan-fiction, especially with how it just ends with all of them having so many kids!
Firstly two of the lead actresses (Alyssa and Rose) don't even appear for a good portion of it, and have to be recapped all the events that happened during their absence. Then the Triad get vanquished so anticlimatically they just felt like any other demon, and they get vanquished with potions no less!
it felt more like how many main characters of the family can we shove into the episode. not to mention timeline shenangians which make no sense. If Bilie and Christy stole his powers in the present day, Wyatt should have never had them in the future to begin with. And to be honest i could have done without seeing Patty, Penny, Victor, Wyatt, and Chris again.... I think I'd have loved to see Prue return for the finale. most people did.
Why does the Angel of Destiny get to run Phoebe's wedding? What makes her so special? The most insulting defeat was Christy, who just stupidly chucks a huge fireball only for Billie to reflect it and wrap up her story! Then what was the point of even finding her sister? Grams and Patty's inclusion also lead to a bunch of HUGE retcons and damage to the overall timeline, and they fact they can replicate the power of three, despite the fact its a sister thing, then what was the point of ever needing another sister?
However the most insulting part about this ending is during the final wrap up where the sisters write about their experiences in the book all of their stories are basically plot events that should've made up the entire season! The fact Piper opens up her own resturaunt, Paige helping future whitelighters come into their own and Leo teaching kids at magic school! Why wasn't any of this in the actual season?! It comes off as a HUGE slap in the face.
The only good things I can say about this finale is the pan over shot of old Piper and Leo where you see Paige, Piper and Phoebe and the fact the casting for Old Piper and Leo were really good casting choices and fit the characters well. Forever Charmed? More like Forever CRAP!

I'd say it's a tie between Oh My Goddess Pt. 2 and Forever Charmed.
The tone of season 5 was a major shift from where the show had been, and the finale just pushed that idea further. It was unsettling to watch the longest and seemingly strongest romantic relationship of the show just fall apart, all for no apparent reason since Leo came back so soon. And Piper warped into a completely different person. Being upset over Leo was one thing, but inflicting her powers over the city was just over the top.
And I haven't watched the episode in a while, but didn't Piper simply vanquish the Titans by creating some kind of earthquake that opened the floor under them? It doesn't seem like it was necessary for them to turn into goddesses to do that. Or maybe just Piper could have been. And the Power of Three was supposed to be the most powerful force of good in the world. Wyatt and the idea that they needed to be goddesses to destroy the Titans goes against that. There's ways to make it a challenge for them to defeat an enemy without going against the first established premise of the show.
The finale of season 8 just felt all over the place. All previously established rules of time travel went completely out the window, and they seemed to forget that the show was about sisters, not about husbands and children and lost relatives. I understand why they wanted to bring everyone back one last time, but it got in the way of what the episode should have been about. It should have been Piper, Phoebe, and Paige saving the day together, and everyone else should have come in secondarily, if they came in at all.
And as much as Kern and others wanted us to forget Prue ever existed, we didn't. One mention of her was all we got. I understand she couldn't appear, and there were rules about using Shannon's image. But it was insulting to give us the shots of the photos on the wall and have Prue appear in none of them. If they couldn't use her image, they shouldn't have used anyone's. End it on the one photo of Piper, Phoebe, and Paige, and have that be the only photo shown.
Season 5 felt like a jarring move away from the heart of the show, forever changing it, and the finale was the worst episode as far as taking us away from what the show once was. Season 8 cemented into place forever the official story of how their lives turned out, even if I ignore it myself. Either one of those would be the worst for me.

Season 8 cemented into place forever the official story of how their lives turned out, even if I ignore it myself. Either one of those would be the worst for me. I felt all the returning guests just took so much focus off the sisters. Personally, I'd have been happier if it ended like it was intended in 'Something Wicca This Way Goes' as it just focused on the characters in the present, and Victor was the only returning character. It was much better. Still don't get why they didn't put the 70s photo of Patty, Little Prue and Piper on the wall. I agree, it was insulting they didn't do that. Kern even admitted, had it done that, he couldn't pay for Chris, Wyatt or Grams to return. Honestly, wouldn't have bothered me, if he did pay Shannen for the image, and cut those characters out. I know Alyssa and Rose were busy shooting other stuff, so I don't understand why they couldn't have shot stuff out of order, and worked around their schedules more. I'm surprised, that the series finale didn't take priority over whatever else they were doing. You could tell they were over Charmed and ready to leave, that for the last episode, they were off doing something else, but I even wonder, if that was truly true, and not just spin, so Kern could make it being about Piper and Leo. Just what a coincidence that both got busy right when they were shooting a series finale. I hated Piper being the one to end the Titans and becoming the Power of One. It was just a horrible finale with Season 5. I hated that they had to become goddesses to get rid of them, or in this case it was Piper. I hated just how much Piper was the Power of One in S5-S8. I get her being upset over Leo, but taking it out on the city with her powers, that got on my nerves. But the end of Season 5/Start of Season 6 is the worse four episode string of episodes in the series. I hate all four so much. Never has a season ended and started so badly. I also hate the end of S6/start of season 7 too. But this one comes first.

To add insult to injury when it comes to Forever Charmless not being about the sisters they decide to retcon the entire point of the Power of Three. Later seasons really butchered continuity, however I think the worst offender would be where Piper, Patty and Penny can somehow recreate the power of three to stop the final fight against Billie/Christy and the Charmed Ones to save Phoebe and Paige. Literally the entire point of the power of three is solely tied to the sisterhood and something exclusive to them. It never existed until they became the Charmed Ones, now all of a sudden the power of three exist as long as any member of the Halliwell line can use it? This rectons Paige's entire point of existing as well as any point they needed a sister for the Power of Three, if you can substitute it with any relative then what was the point of ever needing three sisters if they could just summon Grams and Patty any time at will? What would have made more sense to me is a rework of the source vanquishing spell. Patty, Penny and Piper calling on the halliwell line to vanquish the hollow. There's also the fact In "Charmed and Dangerous", a representative aligned with evil and another aligned with good were needed to read the spell banish the Hollow. However, the only Piper, Grams, and Patty read the spell.

If we're going by Forever Charmed and it didn't need to be sisters, then technically the Power of Three was formed the minute Prue was born, because Patty and Penny made up the other two members. Or any other point in time when there were three descendants of Melinda Warren alive at one time. The later seasons are filled with mistakes like the Hollow being able to be banished by only good forces uniting instead of both good and evil. The idea that such things exist at all, but especially in the series finale, is insulting. Forever Charmed may have been the last episode, but for me personally, the true show ended long before that.

Can we all agree that Charmed was pretty bad at finales? Allison Pregler talks a bit about this in her retrospective how they often have a season finale epic in the penultimate episode of the season. In season 2 they stop the four horsemen of the apocalypse before the finale and in season four they vanquish the seer and her source heir before the finale. I don't understand what was up. All Hell Breaks Loose and Something Wicca This Way Goes are probably the only great finales, with Deja Vu All Over Again falling into the serviceable category. The rest all are flawed to wretched in my opinion. I'd probably rank them as follows: 1. All Hell Breaks Loose 2. Something Wicca This Way Goes 3. Deja Vu All Over Again 4. Be Careful What You Witch For 5. Witch Way Now? 6. It's A Bad, Bad, Bad, Bad, Season Parts 1-2 7. Forever Harmed 8. Oh My Godless Parts 1-2

Oh My Goddess P2 Forever Charmed
But, most of the finales were not the best. I think Deja Vu All Over Again was and still is my favorite of all the season finales.

My question about this is - are we judging "Forever Charmed" as a season finale or a series finale? I don't think it's the worst season finale...
