Favorite Episodes: Season Eight Edition

What was your absolute eight favorite episodes from season eight? A poll to discover the most popular season eight episodes from current (and future) TCC members.

Now i know half if not all cant even get 8. But i had to be fair to every season poll i did in the past and stick to 8. Would love to be proven wrong and find some here can get 8.

There's only Vaya Con Leos and Forever Charmed. The reasons are obvious but the rest is not my thing. Nothing against Kaley and all, but S8 was not needed with the end of S7.

Run, Piper, Run reminded me a bit of the personal touch of the old Charmed. Payback's a Witch would be a close second for similar reasons.

Besides the whole Wyatt having Daddy issues and a birthday party with anatomically incorrect action figures, I quite enjoyed the hostage situation with Paige/Henry in Payback's a Witch. Even Billie wasn't annoying in that episode and it was her vengeful actions which led to the Possessor demon possessing the hostage-taker and threatening Henry's life. And also Paige finally heals in this episode so yeah it was a good episode.

Personally, I found all of Kill Billie, Vol 2 really epic. I loved how it showcased the sisters coming together as the Billie/Christy war came to a head. I also enjoyed the scene with Phoebe and Coop where she sent him away due to a lack of time or patience. It was a great showcase of a character just a little bit burned around the edges. Also the entire plot with the revival of the Hollow was just awesome! Stakes were truly high again for once, and I loved that the Halliwells were willing to resort to this power in order to take on their opponents; which begs the question as to whether Billie/Christy were right in their message against the sisters. Everything about it was pretty great, for me.

I also really enjoyed Gone With The Witches, it was a great hat tip to some of the classics. I was never a big fan of the leprechauns (or the majority of the other magical community, for that matter) , but I really liked the way they were utilized here. Manipulated into turning on the sisters and then ultimately cutting ties with the sisters- probably forever. I thought that was a really good choice, although, perhaps, 3 years too late.

The Jung And The Restless, as you mentioned, is a fantastic episode as well. It had a great nostalgic vibe to it that I found really appealing this late into the game, and it felt like there were true emotions on the line again.

The losing of Leo is a huge card played for season 8 dislikers, which I guess is a legitimate argument. I guess I just sort of felt like Leo was poorly utilized throughout most of his duration on the series, and so it wasn't a huge loss for me. I like Brian, and I do think he and Holly have great chemistry. That can be fun to watch, but after 7 and a half years of it, I didn't mind seeing a little independence in Piper. His absence upped the stakes, in the sense that they had to fight in order to retrieve him, and so it gave Piper's character some pretty consistent character motivation.

Sorry, I get enthused about the final arc because I thought it was a pretty solid effort- at least in comparison to plots of nymphs, lame gods, and the magic belt storylines that we had been subject to for the previous handful of years.

Forever Charmed might be a bit too sweet with the happily ever after, but these three episodes were actually not bad for the reasons mentioned. The only thing which annoyed me was the Charmed Ones falling under a spell for the millionth time and doing ridiculous things in Gone with the Witches. There could've been a million other ways to distract the Charmed Ones while the Magical Community got slaughtered by demons. But atleast some of the Magical Community was vanquished and Piper vacuuming the ashes of a fairy....hate to admit it but that was well done.  

And let’s not forget this beautiful scene in the entire Charmed season 8:

That scene was boring - I wanted Billie to beat up Piper... And the earlier part between Piper and Phoebe was just as boring - even Piper knew that Phoebe wouldn't stay dead.

The funny thing about this season is that if something like this had been substituted into Season Four rather than the Cole-becomes-the-Source story, I'd probably feel totally differently. But by Season Eight, I no longer liked any of the Charmed Ones, so I didn't care what happened to them, especially Piper and Phoebe - part of why I wish the ending had been the one that according to the spoilers that used to be part of the old thecharmedones.com site (that the Cafe used to be the message board for) we would've gotten had there not been a last-minute reprieve - Phoebe says "Here we go" and KaBOOM! End of series...

The Jung and The Restless, Kill Billie: Vol. 2 (because it wasn't that bad except what happens after), Payback's a Witch (Paige/Henry are great) and Engaged and Confused (Paige/Henry are great).

I think Paybacks a Witch could easily be the best episode of Season 8.

Think about it

-An Elder gets cake on his face
-Billie isn't annoying - she's actually pretty smart in this ep
-Christie hasn't arrived yet but the mystery around her is still there
-PhoeMe and PhoeBE is this ep - focusing her attention on Wyatt, casting spells and getting into trouble!
-Henry and Paige are the highlight
-Paige gets a new power triggered by love
-The ended up 'saving' an innocent from more destruction
-Piper talking to Wyatt about Leo at the end is so cute
-I love Wyatt in this episode!
-The special effects are great considering the budget

Vaya Con Leos:
This episode was a dark and sad one. As well as scary. The one episode where piper really pushed limits of the elders and their superiors. Piper making demands of the Angel of Death, then summoning An Avatar and Elder together, then The Angel of Destiny. I felt as scared as phoebe was as to how far Piper would go and what could happen to them. It Reminded me of "Magic Hour". Of how scared phoebe was when piper mentioned that the Elders told her and Leo that they could break them apart into a thousand little pieces. (Unspeakable wrath, the likes of which you cant even imagine).

And that chilling moment when the angel Of Destiny told piper that she couldn't do anything for them and Piper asked "Who says?" and the Angel of Destiny said "Who do you think?". Phoebe so quietly whispers to Piper "Don't go there". It felt like piper was about to cross a boundary she could not come back from.

Mr & Mrs Witch:
I know I may have been the only one that voted on this episode. But if you can get past Billie's parents,then you can appreciate most aspects of it. The episode reminded me so much of the brotherhood that Cole used to belong to. It was just poorly written. The nanny demon had to be part of a group of demons making play for power via controlling corporations and occupying key positions of authority, just like the brotherhood did. The scene during the merger meeting when Piper thought she froze and had control of the situation, but found out she didn't. The demon was able to unfreeze the entire ball room. GOes to show how powerful of an upper level demon she was. At the end of the episode after the sisters had screwed up their plans for a power play, I was convinced that whatever group she belonged too may have been the threat the sisters would have to fight. The sister messed up what took them 30 years of planning. I felt that wasn't going to go well with them. alas another good story wasted. Instead we got Christy and billie

I loved Piper's passion

When Piper thinks that  her family is in danger, she is able to turn into a tiger, to face anyone with a swagger similar to Prue's

It's interesting that a lot of people mention that their favorite episodes of this season remind them of things that happened much earlier in the show.

Most fans say that Seasons 5 - 7 are better but half of those seasons are good and the other half bad.
e.g.: The second half of Season 5 and the first half of Seaosn 7.

Unlike most, I don't think Forever Charmed is an entirely bad episode. It's not the greatest but its also a nod to many fan fave episodes

It isn't as bad as season 6, which I see as the worst written season overall, more than season 8. I still don't like Forever Charmed though, but I wonder if they just ended the series with the sisters writing in the book of shadows for the last time followed and a scene with the manor closing in present day, and no flashforwards. How would people view the series final?

If the nods hadn't been totally inconsistent with those episodes, I might have liked the season more, but those nods were as bad as the one to Prue - making Patty in 'Forever Charmed' seeming to think that having Prue dead was perfectly AOK as long as they found Paige or Paige wondering how the sisters vanquished the Source before when she was part of both tries.

Had Season 8 been Season 5 with 'Witch Way Now?' more like 'Something Wicca This Way Goes?', I think I would've liked the finale better, especially because you wouldn't have had Piper treating Leo like her little errand boy since he'd still be a whitelighter and the series would've had to let him be part of the entire season, so Piper wouldn't only be fighting the Ultimate Power in order to get her husband back (selfish, self-centered bitch!) - it's just that by that point I could only stand Paige, Henry and Little Wyatt that had a lot to do with me not liking the season, that and Kern including his own Mary Sue in Billie.

Not really. I struggle to pick just 8 in some seasons and then can't pick 8 in some. But at least this poll is multi choice so I can pick up to 8.
