Aw, sweet! That you thought of that song like I did.  Avril was a huge part of childhood. I remember always listening to her first two albums. My most favorite one is probably "Losing Grip." Whenever I hear the first chords of that song, I always get the chills. |

I loved that opening. For me dears - I *much* prefer just the sisters in the opening credits and nobody else.
The supporting cast Andy, Leo, Cole etc. dears can still get a starring credit, but that would come after the opening credits before the guest credits on-screen under also starring. I just would of much prefered showcasing the sisters in the opening credits. But I am sure dears a majority here will disagree with this girl on that.

I'm not sure if I've ever seen credits where they just show the stars in the opening credits and then show the supporting cast before the guest credits. Perhaps the way to do it would be to do the stars in the opening credits and do "also starring" for the opening montage and then save the guest stars for the ending credits. The funny thing is Leo is such a big part of this episode that I really felt like he should've been part of it...perhaps a shot of Piper with Leo from that episode and the one of him that they used for S2 and then the rest of this one. But I definitely agree that I prefer just the sisters in the opening credits, especially when it includes their powers, especially when for this one, they only had their original powers and there's so many other powers you could showcase in the latter seasons. Those pictures of the sisters at the end before the ending of 'Something Wicca This Way Comes' - it very simply makes me smile, much more than shots of Leo or Dan or Jenny or Cole or Chris or Billie ever did. So if they had to include the supporting cast, I'd want them right after the sisters and then end the opening credits with these. |

It's the only opening with only the sisters, I'ld like if they did more like that, aboce all in the final episode Very true dear - it is also interesting to note That 70's Episode was technically the *true* only episode of the series to just feature the sisters. But Andy was billed as a regular for that episode he wasn't in, much like Leo was during season 6 in Hyde School Reunion when he didn't appear. I would of loved to have seen this done more often. And like you said the final episode, maybe used as a tribute and showing all the sisters. Oh would this girl love to see fans make opening credits for each season featuring just the sisters, or maybe some are already online. |

I was thinking about the Billing Order form Season 4 onward.
I feel like perhaps it could have been :
Charmed
Staring
Alyssa Milano
Holly Marie Combs as 'Piper'
with Brian Krause
and Rose McGowan
That would have been an equal distribution of billing right?
Alyssa Milano with the name recognition first (like Shannen Doherty)
Holly Marie Combs with the 'as Piper', remaining 2nd but with a " " credit as a special character (also quite a unique name compared to Phoebe (Friends) and Paige.
Then Brian Krause - being next to Holly in the credits, explaining his association with Piper.
Then Rose McGowan credited last - again name recognition. "See I've already waited too long"
Then Julian McMahon with shots at the end with him and Alyssa to explain that.
It also would tell the story of reversed original birth order Phoebe then Piper and their special relationship (inserting old imagery of them from Season 1 - similar to what Prue and Piper had in the original opening credits)
Then Rose McGowan with the hand shaking Charmed Again scene and her being a little resistant or distant from the other two/three - but related to Leo's powers as a white-lighter.
I liked how the original opening credits kind of told the story of Charmed with the discovery of the book - them coming down the stares and being surprised by magic and you could tell that they were familiar or sisters.
Of course adding powers to the mix as well would have been great.

And, Holly is credited "last" in the sister lineup (S4-S8). Once we reach the non-sisters, Brian (at least from S3-S7) is credited, first before Dorian Gregory, Julian McMahon and Drew Fuller. But, by S8 Kaley Cuoco gets credited ahead of him, so IDK LOL I prefer the sisters being credited, first even if we're not the biggest fan of either the character and/or actor. I may not be the biggest Prue fan, but her credit should be in the first three slots. |

However, I will add, the first 5 Charmed episodes credited Alyssa Milano last, behind everyone else including T.W. King AND Dorian Gregory. I prefer the sisters, in the first three slots, however. In my Evolution of S1 Intros thread is my proof of this. And, the first 2 episodes don't showcase powers. |

For me, I would've liked the continuation of what seasons 1-3 did in the opening credits for season 4 with Holly now being billed first as Piper because she was the oldest sister and the one who had the most offensive witch power-blowing stuff up making her the strongest at the time. Then Phoebe is the next eldest and more experienced witch than Paige who is last being the youngest sister naturally.
Brian would come after being the sister's White Lighter Leo.
Julian would be 5th with his association to Phoebe and being someone with powers also and then Dorian finally 6th as the non-mortal friend of the family.
Like the original credits, there would be shots of the sisters plus Cole and Leo using their powers just before their real names came up because I liked that and it told people who hadn't seen the show before what each person could do although their powers could be seen in other clips prior or subsequent of course.
You could then have the story of Phoebe finding the book before showing a picture of Patty and Grams and Victor another point showcasing the extended family with young Prue as well so Shannens face isn't used after fast-forwarding to Shax killing either Prue with her falling through the wall at an angle again where you don't see Shannens face or Piper being thrown instead.
Afterwards, the shot of cars pulling up for Prue's funeral is spotted telling folks someone died with Phoebe then seeing Shax kill Paige on the helipads symbolising someone important before the chandelier with all three sisters underneath is seen giving more meaning to this new character and who she potentially could be to Piper and Phoebe before the remaining shots of the credits are shown overall.

Yeah, my Stargate Atlantis example has a "with" and an "and", and the "with" seems to be first before the "and". Alyssa Milano ALWAYS had an "and" in S1-S3, regardless of her position, in the lineup. So, IDK what that means in terms of "higher" or "lower" "value" of it. I remember discussing this on Reddit, and IDK where this post is, but I remember "and" hold value similarly to those with "as Character Name" or even "with" LOL IDK credits be weird 🤷♀️ I prefer the sisters all being credited first then the co-stars.
