I was watching Ive Got You Under My Skin and Prue was such a B word to Phoebe and controlling her use of her powers yet Prue used her power twice for personal gain.
Ps anyone besides me thinks Javna was creepy?

He was creepy indeed.
Between Prue using her powers to get to the floor she needed to go for the interview and Phoebe playing the lottery, the real issue was about being reckless than using powers for personal gain and being hypocritical.
Prue and Phoebe's relationship was really rocky at that time due to the Roger and fleeing to New York thing. She still didn't fully buy into the 'Phoebe has changed now' notion and hence constantly expected Phoebe to do something reckless with her powers which would put them all in danger.
The flippant way Phoebe kept mentioning having premonitions and not caring about consequences most certainly didn't help and rubbed Prue the wrong way with her being serious and responsible, leading to the constant lecturing about personal gain.
The scenario sort of reminds me of parents, lecturing their kids about the dangers of everything, especially junk food which kids love living off. And then secretly, the parents indulge in a bit of junk food themselves from time to time when the kids are away :-p Of course used to hate that when I was a kid, but now, not really. Kinda find it funny.

Prue was very hypocritical in that episode. When she threw that alarm clock out the window at Andy's house, my first thought was, "What if that hits someone outside?" It's unlikely, but she didn't know if anyone was down there or not. And then the elevator thing wasn't that bad, but was rude. Someone else could have been late for a job interview besides her.
Although Javna was creepy, I appreciate that they tried to make him as demonic as possible. I liked it when all demons were unique.

I don't think Prue was hypocritical. I think she was a bit bitchy. And sometimes, she would allow her emotions to get the best of her, which would lead her to do something wrong.

I too was disturbed when Prue sent the alarm clock flying out the window. It reminded me of Dr. Frasier Crane who a number of times threw objects off his 19 floor balcony. I thought OMG, arrest this man before he kills someone, or at least get the shrink a shrink.
The only thing I can come up with is that the girls were still getting used to their powers. We can see that Piper did not plan to freeze anyone in the restaurant kitchen. I'm not so sure that Phoebe worked to get her premonitions, even the one with the photographer could have been more wishful thinking and there is was. Prue on the other hand is a bit different. We know she moved the elevator along, and she was not happy with that clock, but if you take a good look at here moving through the buildings floors she did seem to have to stay focused to get to the top. As for the clock we know now that if she gets mad things start moving around. The clock might have happened because she doesn't have full control yet. What really bothered me was that she didn't seem to care what happened. I think I might have at least looked out the window.

Yes, I cringed when watching Frasier at times, especially when that huge chair fell out the window.
Poor Piper in that kitchen. I too would have the same reaction.

Javna is creepy, yes. And, I don't think Prue was being hypocritical. Phoebe has no problem flaunting their powers, whereas Prue had no problem keeping it on the down low.

I don't know about being hypocritical, but I didn't like Prue's dismissal of her father in season 1. Phoebe and Piper clearly wanted to know more about him and Prue was just immediately hostile to the point that she was actively trying to drive a wedge between the sisters and the father. It's fine of you want to be estranged from him Prue, but at least have the decency to let your ADULT sisters make up their own minds. Anyway, the episode has a sorta happy ending so all's well that ends well.
P.S. In regards to the actor that played the father in season 1 I now want to retract my enthusiasm for him. I previously wrote that I was never a fan of James Read's portrayal, and i'm still not, however i feel he fits in better with the Charmed Ones than the first Dad actor. As I was watching the first Dad the other day i found myself wondering if there was some weird sexual tension between the sisters (Prue in particular) and him? If you watch the episode there are moments when his eyes linger on Prue and it's a little troubling, although maybe i was just imagining that. I also thought it's weird how he receives Phoebe with a bathrobe on? Call me prudish but i didn't like him as much on my second viewing of that episode. Yes, he was an interesting character (i would have liked to see him as a villain in a different role) but he was wrong for the Dad role. James Read kinda channels Bob Sagat in his portrayal and i think that family dynamic ultimately works better on the show.

James Read kinda channels Bob Sagat in his portrayal and i think that family dynamic ultimately works better on the show. I completely forgot about him greeting Phoebe with a bathrobe on, like what? I'll give you points on him creepily sexualizing his daughters in some way (with his bathrobe greeting). Other than that, I didn't feel any sexual tension between him and Prue. TBH, I thought he was a bad actor especially the deadness on his delivery, when he says "I want to go out with a bang" like what? I genuinely can tell he was acting and was possibly overacting, and I just...I was glad we didn't see him, for awhile. I much appreciate James Read, better than the original dad actor. You bring up a good point that this particular actor would make for a great villain type of a Victor, but I'm glad the show didn't go that route and continued using Read for that family dynamic.
