Zankou seems to have a fanbase, why do you love/like him?

Oded Fehr had a lot of charisma and clearly enjoyed playing the bad guy. I think that casting was a big part of it, because on paper, Zankou isn't really anything new. However he was smarter than most of the antagonists we'd had in later seasons (granted, that might not be saying much.) Personally I think he was the best recurring villain we'd had since the patient, calculating Seer of season 4.

I really liked how he and the sisters had to work together to defeat the Avatars. Knowing he was such a powerful demon who would kill them if given the chance, it was a bit surreal to see them standing together and coming to a truce. He had a lot more layers than most of the other nameless demons that simply shimmered in and threw fire.

For the same reason I liked the Seer - they actually used their brains, unlike must other demons who became fodder for Piper's exploding power.

I'll agree with the others. I liked that he researched the sisters and used their weaknesses as sisters not as witches.
And most of all, I truly think that he should've been the demon who had the pleasure of killing all three Charmed Ones - two more than Shax did. The fact that the sisters cheated by doing something they should not have been able to do - their astral selves being able to both be seen and do magic - something that was part of Prue's ability to move things with her mind, not something that could be taught - like Leo trying to teach Piper how to orb or Phoebe how to heal or Paige how to explode stuff or Prue how to have premonitions will irritate me to the end of time.
I would much prefer how, according to the spoilers given out on thecharmedones.com at the time, the series would've ended had it not been renewed for the eighth season. Much like "The Sopranos" did:
Phoebe says, "Here we go!"
KaBOOM!
The end!
I never felt that way about any other bad guy - most of the others just wanted their powers, not to get rid of them, especially by sacrificing himself, so now the battleground between Good and Evil (which is what the nexus was - the center of the pentagram formed by the five basic elements which is where the Manor was built - not the Shadow who lived in it) would be controlled by Evil. What a scary, perfect way to end the series, where another series could either have them somehow survive (Paige orbing out?) or have to wait until Leo and Victor raise Wyatt and Chris to be adults, so they could do what their mothers couldn't - regain that center for good.
SO much better than the too-sappy ending of "Forever Charmed", and a much-better ending for Prue, not ruining one of her powers.

First of all, Zankou did his research with the sisters and then attacked them, knowing their weaknesses. I guess, there were not only the lost Innocents but in Piper's case also her family. That's something I'd have done in her case!

The Source and the other demons were afraid of him, certainly Zankou had greater capacity than Shax Especially Zankou, like Cole, understands and knows humans, I felt he was taken with humans, above all the sisters Only Zankou or Christy may have killed the Charmed Ones in Chris's reality
